The M-48 Patton was a generation or 2 beyond the M-26 Pershing. The M-48 was qucker, more nimble, better balanced than the Pershing. And, the cast hull probably was better against mines than flat bottemed tanks. But, mainly they were more balistic against shots to their sides & front. That cast hull was angled sharply all the way around. Also, I've seen other documentaries, where it is said that no one knows who actually orderd the U.S. tanks to Checkpoint Charlie.
Great documentary, but ruined by totally unnecessary and annoying music. Just give us the facts without the wannabe Hollywood. It’ll actually have much more impact.
