You can't have documentaries like this anymore. much to General. Now it has to be a 20 minute special just on the tracks of a certain specific tank. With all the experts piping in.
The Reault FT is the most important tank in history, every successful tank since has used this basic layout. Low tracks, engine at the back driver at the front and comander/sensors and main armourment in a 360 degree rotatable turret on top.
“It is almost exclusively men who succumb to the fascination of tanks” Don’t forget Japanese high school girls…. There’s an anime called Girls und Panzers. Weird but good.
I love tanks. I think every small boy played tank wars, I'm lucky enough to live close to the Tank Museum at Bovington UK but..... Masters of rhe Battlefield? Maybe a decade ago yes, not now. Ukraine's army has shown you can effectively take out a multi-million £ $ € tank and supporting armoured vehicles with a £20,000 manpad or a well placed mortar shell dropped from a £500 DJi drone.
Informative documentary coverage video about tanks ....thanks for sharing & appreciate your hardworkb...during 2nd Gulf War, 1991, Iraqi 🇮🇶 tank divisions( T-55 ,T-62, and T- 72) were destroyed by different kinds of weapons they used guided ,shells 🐚 while US,UK & French designed tanks routed defeated Iraqi units successfully? , at 2022, Russian tanks were defeated & burnt-out by guided, computerized shells 🐚 launched from skies & landscapes...(Are computerized ,guided shells 🐚 from skies, beneath water, & landscapes removed legacies of tanks?
They've said tanks are obsolete after ever war since WWI. How else are you going to get good artillery up to the front if not in a tank? Self-propelled artillery get destroyed by tanks with turrets.
A must see video if you love tanks. The Germans had the amazing 88mm tank gun however America did produce a few tanks in 45 with a 90mm gun. And America produced 50,000 M4 Shermans tanks too.
IMO. The Kv1 was a better tank, and it was passed over in Stalin's mind. The Kv85, was tank perfection for the Soviet army. The SU152 could destroy anything, no need for a tank to do everything.
My dad was a 19K for the army in Vietnam and my uncle in law helped with the M1 Abrams i dont see tanks going anywhere from the battlefield they are too important for the infantry
Lol. Well, that question "has the battle tank lost its relevance in war," didn't age well -- considering that the tank has been the main tool of the Russian Army in the last 12 months against Ukraine.
Good doco whish there was a part 2 but even if there was and a also a part 3 its okay being a tank nut I know anyway what happens after WW2 up until today but still not bad vid.

The Jagdtiger ("Hunting Tiger") with 120 mm gun? Germany was better than America 🙂
@@OldEastGermany Actually this is a self propelled gun. Yea, we can see by the out come of the war.
@@codyhilton1750 For example German V2 rocket where America stole the patents? Germany was clearly better technologically and had the best scientists!
My late brother Bob Nelms was a tank commander at Fort Knox Ky
