If you traditional stovetop or microwaved oatmeal like I do, try eating oats like cereal with almond milk, frozen berries & cinnamon. The texure is heartier & firmer.
Amazing...I just recently went vegan and went from almost zero interest in fruits and veggies to now craving them. No joke, my taste buds have changed!
Mackenzie Melichar LMBO that's what I used to say. 😂 I could have eaten all day, and all night, but wouldn't have gained even half the weight if I'd swapped the garbage I was eating for plants. Thankfully, I don't have the binding issue anymore. Haven't dealt with it for a bout a year and a half, and will be celebrating my vegaversary in three months. Praying the binge monster never makes a comeback.
Can't eat oatmeal, as much as I've tried, so I started eating Uncle Sam's cereal, which is a rolled wheat product... till I realized it has salt in it. I do better not eating added salt, so still looking, but there is a lot of emphasis on oatmeal. I see there is a rolled wheat product on Amazon. Haven't studied it yet, but think I'll try it. I'd love to have an oatmeal substitute.
Ali A. Agreed! Especially all dolled up with a little Ceylon cinnamon, a pinch of cloves, goji berries, walnuts and maybe even some hemp seeds and chia seeds - then topped with berries or banana - or both!
The first rule of eating like this every day is to set aside time to prepare the food. It is time well spent. You're not going to find most of these foods at take-out counters.
MauiBeat I want to say you nailed it. You cannot swing this if you’re used to takeouts and TV dinners. But the time invested in cooking pays dividends in terms of health!
I have steel-cut oats for breakfast with cranberries, walnuts, ground flax seed, and unsweetened soy milk. If I have a bit more time I swap out the steel-cut oats for whole oat groats, which have an amazing chewy "oaty" flavour. Alternate mornings I make quinoa with almonds, blueberries, ground flax seed, and unsweetened soy milk. I then have multiple raw veggies such as romaine lettuce, cucumber, red cabbage, or bok choy, eaten out of hand, or I make a kale smoothie.
I love these inspirational videos! I’m returning to a plant based diet. Just one week in and feeling better already. Less aches and pains. Sleeping better. Hooray for rainbow colored plants!
My meals in an average day: BREAKFAST= I usually exercise in the morning so I drink a bunch of water & may have a date with nut butter to satiate & sustain me until after working out. Afterwards I often have Oatmeal (but made with buckwheat too & infused with tea/dates), layered with fruit/nuts/sweet potato. Occasionally I have Overnight Oats, Cookie Dough(Dates blended with dry oats & some plant milk to hydrate the oats.) or 3 Ingredient Pancakes. In the Summer I have more Smoothies or Smoothie Bowls. LUNCH= Snacks usually. Larabars, Peas, Chickpeas, Lentils, Chocolate, Dried Fruit etc. Sometimes Salads/Fruit Salads. Often I mix leftovers from previous nights with some mustard/tamari/tomato sauce & spices. DINNER= Sometimes Dinner is just a huge lunch when I get back from work. More often it's whatever I have or am meal prepping. Dinner is usually an experiment. It could be soup, rice/quinoa dishes, sushi, buddha bowls, ramen, pasta, stirfry, curry, chili etc. It's not usually a cold dish. My only gripe is getting in my Greens & working out which foods digest best for me. :)

I had oatmeal this morning with raisins and almond milk on it, along with a good spoonful of blackberry jam. Yum! Sometimes i put other chopped fruits such as mango or apples or avocado on it, sometimes i add peanut butter, the possibilities are endless!
A VERY inspiring video. I often eat greens for breakfast, and the stigma of it being weird is slowly disappearing. Also, hummus makes a great base for starting a salad dressing, but finding a brand without added oil can be a little challenging. Add to that some carrot juice, almond butter, sunflower butter and/or peanut butter and spice with turmeric and ginger. You can even add some delicious mulberries and almond slivers. YUM, so good!
Yay! A mostly raw vegan! And I don’t eat breakfast. I intermittent fast and so my first meal is at 5:45-6pm. And I can’t do oats, gluten free or otherwise, so I pass on the grains. But nice to see what the docs eat!

If you want to avoid getting fat: plant based/no oil/very large salad every day. As they said in the video :if other people say of your salad ,“it’s way too large!” Then it’s the right size.
If people aren’t asking if you’re going to eat the whole bowl of salad get a bigger bowl! This happens to me often. I have a special bowl I keep in the break room just for my big salads!
Wow amazing! I’m glad I’m learning about a plant based diet as a teenager so I could start eating healthier at a young age. This makes me want to turn vegan and I’m actually going to try!!
Veganism and plant based diets are not the same. On plant based diets you could have honey or a few animal based products in their as long as the majority of your diet is plant based ex. In you coffee you add honey to it and you put butter on your hopefully sprouted whole grain toast. So basically if like 75% of you diet is vegan but have 25% of it contain some animal by product

But, because my dad and my brother are fond of oatmeal for breakfast, I'll only go on about this only so long before just shrugging my shoulders and acknowledging the healthy aspects of oatmeal...
Oatmeal and fruits are my all time faves. I don't have a lot of money and oats+fruits+almonds+soymilk are so satisfying and cheap. And when I'm really hungry I'm also gonna eat some carrots with hummus 🥗♥️
Easy way to get legumes into for breakfast: blend in (unsalted!) cooked white beans in your morning smoothie. You don't taste it and it makes it sooo creamy. Delicious!
I eat oatmeal with Almond Milk, fruit (banana, strawberries, or blueberries), flax seed, and almonds (or pumpkin seeds) in the morning. On certain occasions I'll eat a blend of steamed veggies in the morning instead of oatmeal (carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower). The options are sky the limit!
I put a handful of dry rolled oats in my berry and banana smoothie before blending. Yum. As to people saying that some of these vegan doctors don't look so healthy, remember they are not suffering from the major diseases that those on SAD diets do, and they are healthier by far than most of the population.
Week 1 of turning to vegan diet, after watching him in "what the health". I thought I will feel hungry all the time, but no I feel sustained and my energy levels are through the roof.
IBS, brain fog, distal neuropathy, pre-diabetes was my life. Dropped grains (tried to hold onto steel cut oats but problems persisted). I limited fruits, eat tons of fresh or lightly steamed green leafy veggies, colored plants, plants/roots w/high soluble fibre, pre-biotics and good bulk. I limit protein to about 1 gm/kg body weight and take most of my calories in healthy organic cold pressed oils, nuts, and fats (nuts, eggs a little fish). All of the problems/issues that I had have disappeared. I am very energetic and have can hike, ride and swim with great endurance. High carb was anathema for me and my health problems. Don't doubt that it works well for many. Food was never a one size fits all proposition. Trying to make it such now seems a bit like religion but not very scientific.

BIG GLOB OF IT, dosnt matter if it’s organic or the processed JIFF stuff Chopped banana Frozen or fresh fruit (I like berries best) Add Nuts and seeds to make it extra healthy Sweeten it up with some maple syrup and add some extra milk and ur good to go🙂
I love this recommendations, especially the biig salad, my family and friends asked me wether I am insane when they saw my big salad, as a young vegan with 17 I thought sth might be wrong with me, but now I know I am not the only one who eats big salads
Include different types of fruits like jaxkfruits, mangoes, and other fruits you like. Include leafy vegetables, vegetables according to your taste. Nowadays there are lots of recipes of vegan cooking and desserts. Experiment, eat love. Live and let live. Live, love and compassion

@@NitProVale I think the actual doctors know more than you... and our brains need a lot.of glucose to function properly. Humans are made to eat a high carb diet.
For extra protein I use a shaker n shake up 2 scoops of Garden of Life raw organic chocolate protein powder, with 3/4 full shaker of water, or almond milk and pour it over my quick oats with raisins and pecans. Or, Vanilla protein powder blended with 1/2 frozen banana (add 1 tbsp of peanut butter optional), and ..(can occasionally add a teaspoon-tablespoon of pure maple syrup for extra sweetening). No cooking neccesary. Syrup and PB only on occasion, due to high sugar and high calorie.

If you traditional stovetop or microwaved oatmeal like I do, try eating oats like cereal with almond milk, frozen berries & cinnamon. The texure is heartier & firmer.

Love the preaching of eating in abundance!!! Eat more salad if you’re hungry and make it big!!

Glyphosate! Glyphosate! Glyphosate! Glyphosate! Glyphosate!
Oats are the love of my life honestly
Ali A. Agreed! Especially all dolled up with a little Ceylon cinnamon, a pinch of cloves, goji berries, walnuts and maybe even some hemp seeds and chia seeds - then topped with berries or banana - or both!

janek49 how do you prepare oats??
Oatmeal is cheating on you with me and almost everyone in the comment section 😂😂😂😞
Oats are for horse
The first rule of eating like this every day is to set aside time to prepare the food. It is time well spent. You're not going to find most of these foods at take-out counters.
MauiBeat I want to say you nailed it. You cannot swing this if you’re used to takeouts and TV dinners. But the time invested in cooking pays dividends in terms of health!
It literally takes less time than to wait on takeout, to make most plant based foods
Been plant based since the Day after thanksgiving 2020.. I feel amazing! Mentally & physically sharper
I love these inspirational videos! I’m returning to a plant based diet. Just one week in and feeling better already. Less aches and pains. Sleeping better. Hooray for rainbow colored plants!
Yes rainbow colored food are the tastiest 🌈

Just watched this during breakfast. What was my breakfast? Oatmeal with cinnamon, blueberries, flax, and walnuts.
It's 11:42 PM for me. Gotta wait til tomorrow for my oatmeal...😭
Yep, just had oatmeal, honey, walnuts!🍯🥣
My mom is 91. She looks 70 and is very healthy. Whole foods, mostly Mediterranean based diet. Very little packaged foods.
That’s because it’s high in fruits and veggies lol
My meals in an average day:
BREAKFAST= I usually exercise in the morning so I drink a bunch of water & may have a date with nut butter to satiate & sustain me until after working out.
lol...nobody cared

So basically if like 75% of you diet is vegan but have 25% of it contain some animal by product
same!!!!

They tried to discredit her, belittled her and even tried to destroy her career. For this reason, Vegans have existed behind closed doors; up til now, we've come out! You were my secret mentor and you changed my life. Now; I can go to Vegan restaurants here, we have a Vegan Facebook group, the works! Thanks for being the light in my dark, and my inspiration. Oh; by the way, the Canadian Cattleman's Association is on the warpath again, because the UN and a couple British Universities have denounced meat, wait until you see them start fighting for their lives, and their livelihood...lol

I love oats, but I find they're a soporific unless I have them with other grains. I bake them into bread and when I make porridge I start it with buckwheat and pearl barley grains, then add rolled oats when the grains have softened. The whole grains give it a nice chewiness too.
Has anyone tried banana oatmeal pancakes? I have them almost every day. They're amazing with banana and strawberry as a topping.
