Before I saw that interview on Diary of a CEO I had no idea who Dr. Barnard was. After watching it, and along with my overall frustration of being overweight and unhealthy, I started a WF plant based diet cold turkey 7 weeks ago. As of today I’ve lost 17 pounds and can’t imagine going back. I can’t even explain how good I feel and how easy it can be. I have to thank Dr. Barnard for challenging everyone to “just try it for three weeks and see how you feel”. I took that challenge and am so glad I did. My friends and family all thought I was crazy but I literally knew in the middle of week two that I was not going back to my old eating habits. That’s how fast I saw and felt results. None of this would have happened without that interview. When I noticed it was gone it really ticked me off. Seriously, Diary of a CEO? Over a discussion of the Vegan diet in 2024?! Do better!

The most obvious reason Barnard's video was removed from the channel is Diary of a CEO has been bought by big meat. Either that or the channel's core audience revolted.

At the beginning of the episode the host was begging the audience to subscribe which made it very clear his #1 objective was to grow his channel. Before the video was taken down I scrolled through the comments. Wow. So many haters...and of course they were threatening to unsubscibe and report the episode to YT as misinformation. I wouldn't be surprised if beef council and/or dairy industry were behind all of the negative comments. Thankfully, the interview is still available on Spotify.

yes, i only found out about the food industry when I was diagnosed with lupus and my medication didn't seem to help anymore. 8 years ago my daughter was diagnosed with tipe 1 diabetes she was 15, caused by a autoimmune gene. And then the doctors and nutritionist told us she must cut out saturated fat, carbs and sugars and eat more white cheese, lean meat and drink milk at at night to keep her sugar level more constant.. and i have done research, and all the diabetic information said basically the same.. Now from learning everything about food, I'm like very furious about what we don't know, as a mother we want the best for our children and not feeding them ticking bombs on their plates. I'm a Vegan now for a month, and I'm learning everyday.. with my Lupus, I don't have inflammation anymore, and healing everyday more and more. Thank you for making this videos

Dr. McDougall and Dr. Milton Mills have alot of videos about type 1 diabetes being CAUSED BY MILK in young kids! The cow proteins seep thru the intestinal wall into the bloodstream of a human, the human sees cow proteins as an invasion, so the body creates antibodies to help fight the cow proteins. Problem is the cow proteins are molecularly similar to the pancreas cells, so the body starts attacking the pancreas thru molecular mimicry. Watch the videos, if u can't find them, I'll post them here. I'd cut the dairy for sure. Also reg your Lupus, did you know Dr. Brooke Goldner healed herself from Lupus? She wrote a book GOODBYE AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE and shares the protocol she used to cure herself, the protocol can also be used for other autoimmune diseases such as Hashimotos, Sjogrens, arthritis, MS, etc.

I saw his interview with Steven at the Diary of a CEO. I have to say that I was skeptical about his conclusions. Based on my personal experience with diets across the African continent and the United States - and the outcomes for members of my immediate family, I can not reconcile them with his ideas.
Weight loss seems to be the "proof" for every health claim and I find it quite shallow and unconvincing. The only weight issues I ever had in my life was being underweight until my early 30s when I started eating significantly more animal protein. I have had my better, stronger and energetic life from that point forward.

I told CEO in the comments how it was fascinating how his podcast listeners practically jizzed all over the Bryan Johnson interview but freaked out at Dr Barnard when all Dr Barnard was doing was recommending the exact WFPB vegan diet that Bryan Johnson uses in his Blue Print protocol. I work in a health clinic. Weight loss drugs are rampantly prescribed but thankfully the insurance companies overall won’t pay for them for weight loss. Some have said shame on me for saying that because weight loss leads to health. But one can be skinny fat. And many that have taken them don’t even lose much weight and many have quit them because of the horrible GI side effects.
I’m just transitioning to a plant based diet. I was eating a carnivore diet. I lost a ton of weight very fast eating carnivore but my cholesterol went sky high (and yes I know the low carb crowd says that doesn’t matter), my kidney functions went abnormal, my sugars went up to diabetic range (I’m not diabetic), and I looked sickly like people who lose weight because of an illness. People actually thought I was sick.
I have gained a few pounds back and look plumper but I know it’s just my body holding onto things because I was malnourished for months. Oh and so was already iron deficient and anemic. That got worse eating carnivore and my doctor thought I was going to need not only iron infusions (which I’m getting now) but a blood transfusion.

I first heard about animal cruelty when I had just graduated from University, many years ago. My dad had passed away and I was depressed. One day my mom had the radio on (age give away, we had something called radios in those days) and we heard a program about cruelty to farm animals. Someone bumped off Old McDonald and replaced the old boy with factory farming and also that fur coat my aunt gave me (mink collar) was made out of a furry animal who was murdered for his skin. So my mom gave a donation but when I decided to go to a group meeting, she howled like a stuck wolf. I went anyway. Then I decided to become a vegetarian. Mom said it would drive me to suicide because her best friend had been a vegetarian and she had committed suicide. Mom said her metabolism was unbalanced. I stated that the suicide was brought on by the woman's husband running off with his young secretary, not celery sticks and carrots. If you are forced to justify your way of eating to your family and friends, you need to be able to think logically. If you think you can justify drinking milk, think how you would like your sister to be kept chained up through her reproducing years and have her breasts milked because it's good for business and someone has told everyone that milk is good for adults. Think: the President of the USA sucking on a baby bottle. Anyway Dr. Neil is a hero to both non-humans and humans alike. Meat is murder. And poison for us so keep to the plants. A sort of friend of mine said that trees have feelings also so we should not eat plants. I told him definitely not to eat a tree. Trees bark and he would get a major belly ache with a tree barking inside of him.

The Future Burger version 3.0 doesn't seem to contain much oil at all, surely it's not so bad now. I like to add some garlic granules, smoke paprika and salt n' pepper and just mash that into the two patties together on a baking tray with a silicon spatula. Easy, easy to do, and I also normally just shape the two patties into one big one, for me!

    *meat doesn't define a meal*
That idea that "a meal isn't really a meal unless" it's centered around a meat dish is really hard to shake. Even though I went vegan over 4 years ago, I still sometimes encounter the vestiges of that idea in my own self -- and I encounter it all the time in my family. I try to make suggestions to ease their health issues, but I can't make any headway against their conviction that they aren't really eating anything unless there's beef, pork, chicken, fish, egg or cheese on the plate. (So I instead urge them to increase their intake of green veggies.)
    *animal products cause food sensitivity*
The less common idea -- but just as hard to shake -- is the idea that meats, especially beef, are the only foods "safe" from causing reactions due to sensitivities. I gradually figured out, based on experience, that I had switched cause and effect. Eating animal products increased inflammation, which in turn resulted in more and more sensitivities to grains, tomatoes, and potatoes. The solution was not to look at beef as a "safe" food. The solution was to first cut way back on animal products, eating the veggies, grains and fruits to which I did not have a sensitivity, and then gradually reintroduce the foods as the sensitivities subsided (along with the inflammatory markers). I can now eat potatoes, tomatoes and many grains without restriction. I still have reactions to wheat and buckwheat, but every so often I try, just to see where I am. I used to get a rash if I ate something with the smallest amount of soy sauce in it that had wheat as an ingredient. Now I can make an exception here and there without consequence so long as I don't make a habit out of it or eat too much at a time. The point is that the real culprits for these sensitivities were not the grains and "carbs" but the "safe" animal flesh. The animal products increased the inflammation and shifted my gut to the bad bacteria, which in turn caused these sensitivities. But you can't get that through to these true believers in keto, paleo, and (groan) carnivore diets.
    *tastes will change*
A third idea that gets in the way is the idea that your tastes will remain the same. They won't. I used to eat so many kinds of cheese. I remember once counting 5 kinds of cheese in my grocery cart (IIRC, cottage cheese, cream cheese, gorgonzola, cheddar, gouda) and not wanting to put any of them back. Now it often nauseates me to look at cheese. I'll occasionally have vegan cheese on something that I think needs it (pizza, eggplant parmesan) but rarely, and it doesn't have the same addictive quality. My theory is that it was making my body ill for so long, that my body, now freed from the addiction that overrode what it wanted, overcompensates by feeling sick at the very idea. A lot of tastes change within a couple months, and more change over years. I remember telling a friend that I could never be vegetarian, because I love sushi too much. I occasionally eat vegan sushi, but I do not have the kind of pining for it that I imagined beforehand. Your tastes change as you educate yourself and change your habits.
    *calories still relevant*
I also agree that "you can eat as much as you want" doesn't work for everyone, especially if one is not completely perfect about avoiding chips (with oil in them), nuts, processed sugar or whatever. I think you have to look at it as a series of tradeoffs. If you want an occasional treat from the not-healthy list, you have to reduce calories elsewhere. You can still have some foods that are "as much as you want" (for example, non-starchy veggies without added fat), but you have to set limits for starchy veggies and fruit. And you have to have strict limits for things like dried fruits, which are exceedingly calorie dense, and of course for the not-healthy treats themselves. Saying "don't count calories" is not a successful strategy for everyone.

Probably either YT or the channel owner will remove my input, because it is very inconvenient. But let's see..
Dr B. tells us things that are easy to disprove. Actually, your intelligence is enough to disprove his arguments.
3:27 "the research has become very very clear that...." okay, realize this: our genes have developed over millions of years to process ancestral animal food: meat, animal saturated fats, cholesterol. We didn't grow avocado's, spinach, or produced B12 at the time. Finds of hunting gear, cave paintings, isotope studies of skeletons, our anatomy should make this clear.
We developed on meat and plants were starvation food, nothing else.
It's my belief that anything that opposed this knowledge is either money driven, or plain propaganda without anything to back it up (sorry 😅)

    • @akrulla
      @akrulla 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1. Humans and their ancestors have been eating vegetation for many millions of years longer than they've been eating meat. Plants are not 'starvation food', they have always been a consistent part of our diet.
      2. B12 comes from bacteria in dirt and water sources, not animals.
      3. Your beliefs are poorly informed. Go and learn some more before making such silly comments.

The reason for the militant carnivores behaviour is obvious, given that the ethical and environmental case for going vegan is obvious and indisputable, optimising health is the only argument the carnivores have, so they can't go where the science is going because that would mean they would have to give up meat. And they don't want to, because it's so damn tasty and because they have built up lucrative careers from telling people what they want to hear. I used to listen to them. I get it. My advice if you want to lose weight is to fast after 6pm Nil by mouth until breakfast in the morning except for water of course... I have been doing it for many years and i don't feel deprived even as i'm so used to it ☮

Worse than the fact that you will die prematurely is the fact that you’ll be disabled sooner and longer than those who follow a whole food plant based diet. Congratulations for admitting it’s an addiction. I know a lot of people who are more energetic than ever when consuming vast quantities of alcohol and illegal drugs.

Truly raw dairy is great for me, with the cows raised well,… that includes truly raw cheese. Not high heat raw, not thermized, just truly raw.

Cheese is the main staple of my diet. Fermentation is gut healthy. Cheese has protein, vitamins and minerals. I love the taste and variety of cheeses, I love pizza. This talk I am hearing is voodoo nutrition, veganism as a religious cult. Healthy mold in cheese must be an acquired taste. I also love yogurt, and whole milk added to coffee. I’m glad you have the right to choose your own diet, refuse to eat cheese, and talk about it, but as with all religions, it is just not for me.

I watched my first episode of diary of a CEO just today. It was about menopause and it was ultimately an hour plus of “doctors don’t understand that all women need drugs”. First and last time I watch it. And this just confirms I am right. They’ve got pharma money somewhere in their pockets.
