Try playing Sonic 3 A.I.R. . It's Sonic 3, but it has more stuff. Including playing as Knuckles with Tails as a helper, that can make you beat The game has Knuckles while on the Sonic paths, It also includes mods and achievements that can unlock secrets. Like Playing as Knuckles and Tails as a duo, Drop Dash, DEBUG MODE, the super peel out from Sonic CD.

For the special stage, the blue spheres increase your speed until the orb is red (maxed out) the rings increase your time, which maxes out at 60 seconds. Hopefully that helps. P.S. my favorite movie is a foreign ww2 film called (My Way).

@@zeevrisdaneilagan3433 no it’s not,it has its own unique futures also the time doesn’t max out when you reach 1 minute in sonic mania + you aren’t chasing a UFO and you are going in a straight line and you don’t lose time when you get hit by the spikes. It’s not just sonic mania because they add or twist up the features also the sprites are different and there’s no mach counter it’s just a blue/red circle so really it is not just sonic mania.

I'll never cease to be amazed at the talent of some of the Sonic fangame community.
Tip to finding the bonus stages: 80% of the bonus stages are hidden with springs, if a spring makes you go to the right go to the left and you will surely find a bonus stage, there are 3 bonus stages in each level/act (6 in total in each zone)
Also the bonus stages can respawn if you restart the level with the ¨exit¨ button
Also also, dont worry if you couldnt find all the bonus stages, at the end of the game you can select any level and farm the chaos emeralds and then play the last level to get to the true final boss, zone 2 is the best to farm the chaoes emeralds

When you got the ring capsule in sapphire sights while you had the lightning shield near the spring, there was a special stage you missed.
Favorite movie of all time is "The Crow" hands down. Great video, sir! Also, you're not crazy... It does look like angry birds!
Here's a tip: I think with the special stage when collect enough blue spheres to make the thing at the top glow I believe that indicates you've reached max speed, at that point you might want to prioritize rings for time

Cool. this was sweet. So colourful and real cool music. I loved the different shield, protection designs and the enemies real creative. The cut scenes was a neat idea, i loved Tails. I can't believe this was a fan game, so much talent out there. Thank you Darby for always being awesome and making epic uploads and content.

I think it would be fun if there was another episode on this one this video was so fun that it would be cool to see more of this game.
You should definitely play more of this game. It looks so good it could get confused for an official Sonic game. One of my favorite movies I saw recently is Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
In the special stage zone the red sphere slow you down, the blue sphere speeds you up, rings add seconds in the timer, and you race the emerald. But you only get it when the meter is full and you ran a full lap after that.
The things that slow you down are bombs not spheres but I see your point
This feels like a sequel to Sonic Before and After the Sequel.

I found a giant ring in act 2 af discount district zone. at the start of the level, charge full peel-out so you can get up to the platform. then keep moving and jumping left and it will be there.

You're ABSOLUTELY RIGHT
The special stages quite killed the mood for me, too tight time limits, not much precision when moving sideways (feels like the acceleration and deceleration is too low, like a car with bad handling) and didn't give a good sense of speed (although that is apparently an optimization issue of the engine during the special stages, it seems to be more taxing on the CPU than it should). Otherwise, God it feels like Sonic meets Ristar when it comes to style.

The minigame in this to get the chaos emeralds is very similar to the minigame in Sonic Mania from what I can tell. Blue balls (teehee) make you go faster and rings extend your time. You need to find a balance of gathering both the blue balls, and the rings to get both your speed built up, and also keep your time from running out. The ring monitors look dangerous to get,but they probably give you a nice time boost.
If you do a part 2, hopefully this will help you nab those pesky chaos emeralds. Good luck!

right at 5:52 of the vedio you enter the pipe that brings you to the loop, but there was a big ring next to it. Now THAT was the bonus game you missed
Got at least four Chaos Emerald, you can get one in the first stage too.
I found it's more easy to worry about getting the blue balls and then get alot of rings to speed up.

in the special stages its all about speed like you said but if you want more time you need to collect rings like in sonic mania when you are trying to catch the UFO you need rings to get more time also my favourite movie is cars & sonic 2

21:57 the reason you're failing the special stage is, you're ring count acts like a timer, if you run out of rings you lose the special stage, just like knuckles' Chaotix special stages work.
I've played it! For anybody having trouble with the special stages, go for speed first! Then rings!
I WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO play more and also you need rings for time in the special stage tip from Quincy
Tip from what I see you need rings to extend your special stage timer
The art style is like 8-bit but with the detail and shading of 16-bit and I just absoloutely love how it looks.

My favorite movie is a really old one from the 1930s Called "Duck Soup". It stars the classic comedy team The Marx Brothers in a made up wartime setting. Funniest film I have ever seen.
