💡Pro Tips:
1⃣ Use a serrated bread knife for juicy fruit like melon, pineapple, and tomato. It’s way less messy!
2⃣ Grilled fruit is an amazing and easy option for a party. Grilled watermelon+feta+honey is just one option. But try grilled pineapple with chamoy and chile-lime seasoning, or one of my favorite summer desserts: grilled peaches w/ vanilla ice cream
3⃣ Cut watermelon into “spears” for the perfect grab-and-go option
4⃣ Carefully oil your grill grates with a paper towel to keep it non-stick

Tried this....the juices poured over my cutting board onto the counter. My cutting board even has a bevel to catch juices. Easy way to eat it though

This might work for small round seedless watermelons, but it doesn't work on the oblong seeded watermelon. Those are too mushy in the center to cut spears like this.

Not the best way IMO. Cut it longitudinally first, then in smaller segments like the video shows. Then you don't need a cutting board (or Bounty paper towels 😂) and all the juice stays in the bottom half of the watermelon. After the top half is finished, you can pieces out of the bottom leaving the bottom "bowl" in tact. This is a trick fishermen use when on the boat. Watermelon stays in the ice chest the whole time and is not messy at all.
I think his point is to have the rind as a little handle.

I recommend adding a pinch of salt, and a neutral oil. The salt is obvious, but the oil will carry all the ingredients over your tongue and really helps to taste every little bit of this amazing dish!
