What a special place. The history and majesty of such a place is awe inspiring, yet it also feels humble and understated. I often think of the builders/designers. Imagine having an idea so grand that you'll never see it's completion?! Great video, thanks Paul!
Hi there! It was a different idea to go there but really glad I did. Quite a moving place and really tranquil too! I really enjoyed that area which I hope comes across in the films. Paul
Wow, I can only imagine there there would be some great history in the graveyard next to the cathedral for sure! So enjoy all the history that sure predates here in Nova Scotia. Great tour! Bruce and Otis
Took all morning to remember that! Had to keep asking the guide for advice on Thomas Beckett as I kept forgetting! Too much information for my head! Stunning place. Hope both well! Paul
Thanks Paul. I really enjoyed this look at such an historic site. Very well described. Although I am not religious, I get a huge sense of the history of these places and feel a connection to the people who built and worshipped in them.
I’m trying to join together some of the British history I hope around these things and already I’m finding links across the country. My mum and dad and big brother are all lay preachers so it’s something I’m aware of but feel the need to understand it a bit more. Sorry but what’s your name too??!!! I’m not sure on that one! Paul
Trying something different Jason! Best friend has lived there for years and I felt time to do some learning! Stunning place I pretty much had to myself.
Absolutely wonderful building. As an architectural historian I’m fascinated by the Norman (Romanesque) cathedrals of England. Peterborough is certainly one of the finest examples Such a shame that of all these great religious buildings from the Middle Ages Peterborough is situated in what is probably the least interesting city, though the “Close” is very beautiful.
I will be visiting again from the states this February. My first visit to the cathedral in 2019 I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and tranquility.
It’s one of the most human cathedrals I’ve ever been in. It’s got a real sense of soul.

It’s a real surprise to walk through to the building and how it suddenly appears. Great vibe inside too I’m really glad to have visited.
