Lamorne Morris has got something. Ever since seeing him in Hulu's "Woke" and then Fargo, the guy has an ability to show repressed emotions and dignified characters trying to make their way that's very believable.
Yeah, that was pretty good. Very good. And Garrett had a very, very role on the show. He'd had his singing career, writing, and I think Cooley High was before the show, so it was an odd choice on the one hand, but they CLEARLY wanted somebody Black, but not heavily established. Pryor was too big and too independent, and even Nipsey Russell was too "old school" and I think had been on Laugh-In. But looking back SNL REALLY struggled with their entire black cat. Eddie came in when Loren was not the producer. And Rock didn't do so well. It took 20 YEARS for Tracey to grow on me, but yeah, Kenan was the only one that made it and a real success.
Never found this Dude that Funny or good but Shid He Nailed this! Actually when it 1st came on thought this was a Real Clip of Snl when Garrett was there in the 70's!!
The voice, the inflection, the mannaerisms, Lamorne Morris has got Garrett Morris down very well
He nailed this better than I anticipated
I think a lot of people forget that Garrett Morris was before Eddie Murphy on SNL. As a kid I do remember him being SNL.
No one forgot. SNL wasn’t that funny then
Garrett Morris endured all of the drama for five years so that Kenan Thompson could be there on _SNL_ almost 25 years.
Truth
In fairness to Kenan, he has been doing sketch comedy since he was a kid. Dude was seasoned by Nickelodeon years before he got to SNL.
What a waste of a sacrifice.
@@Cakebattered Agreed.
@@Valhalla13375what fairness? What's the relevance to the comment you're replying to?
Dude deserves all the awards. He became Garrett before our eyes.
Morris is a legend.
which one? lol
@@xX_CarmonaGaming_XxWhich Morris you talking about? I was meaning Garrett.
@ it was a joke cuz the actor portraying garrett is also named morris
@@xX_CarmonaGaming_Xx Oh, I did not know that. Thank you
Lamorne Morris And Garrett Morris are both amazing talent

Man he came a long way from them 106 & park auditions… lol yeah I’m that old.
@@geminida1 106th&Park? Was that shot in East Harlem?
Perfect casting! Lamorne just keeps on getting better with each role
that wig a whole cast member 😂😂😂😂😂
BRILLIANT!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Isn't that the famous band leader for The Colbert Show? I Jean Baptiste?! Is that his name?
Yep, he did the score for the movie too - here, he’s playing Billy Preston
Jon Batiste
Sure, whatever 😂
@@billygarcia9885thank you!
I was wondering who he was playing
@@billygarcia9885Hmm Nothin From Nothing huh?
for someone whos not an actor, jon batiste was surprisingly good on this
They never knew how to use Garrett Morris. He was a brilliant actor, but none of the writers could write anything but cheesy stereotypes for him.
If he was a brilliant actor why was he stuck on SNL?
@@festo512
He had a long, storied career after SNL. Lots of performers pay dues in weird jobs over the years.
@@eastvandb name one great role he had
@@festo512
Oh, I see the problem. You're confusing Something You've Seen with something great.
@@eastvandb got it
This dude is a good actor. Hope to see more of him.
Garrett's version of Walkin in A Winterland us my favorite.
He definitely captured Mr. Morris!
Cory Henry is in this!!!!
Didn’t notice that til you said it. Almost makes me wanna watch the movie, now.

Ok that’s who I thought that was Jon bastiste and Lamorne Morris glad to see them getting great roles like this
Jon Batiste can act
If the ever make a 'real life' Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem' movie, Batiste is in...
@@KnifePhD73aw man a Dr Teeth movie would be amazing
Especially if they made it raw and gritty like “Ray”
