    I’m so glad people like you take the time to make these videos on the most random shit because I have been able to fix so many things watching TH-cam videos on things like this. I feel like I don’t contribute enough because once I figure something out I’m onto the next I don’t wanna go back and break it and make a video about how I fixed it lol thanks

    • @patmedina1960
      @patmedina1960  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. That's exactly why I have super random videos. I always check TH-cam when I figure somethings out. If there are no videos or even no decent videos clearly explaining, I make one with like no prep but gets the essential info out. Haven't made many lately because there is just so much out there especially if you include tik tok now.

    Thanks for the clip, I bought one from harbor freight; the Hudson eliminator and had the same problem. After watching your video, I fixed it by putting the rubber back and now back to business. With out this clip, I would have thrown it in trash already.

    6 months ago, I bought a cheap $10 one gallon plastic sprayer. Today, it has no pressure, and I have taken these apart before. Sometimes the level of liquid or angle of the plunger affected the pressure. This plunger has a greasy O-ring at the end, it just seems too loose. It is not crooked nor old. I might be missing something that I missed to do with the black check valve at the bottom

    Mr. Medina, YOU are A-W-E-S-O-M-E!! I purchased a tank sprayer less than 6 months ago and around 4 months in, I started to feel the pump giving more noticeable resistance... AND, it was starting to squeak (more like a ''moan'') each time I pushed the handle down. Then, about 2 weeks ago, it did exactly what you were referring to in this "GOD-Send" of a video. Tried to pump air into it and the handle just went down so easily...TOO easily. So, for the past several days, I've been contemplating what to do; get another tank or try to fix this one. Well, it's night, now. But, in the morning, I'll check the parts according to your guidance. I hope it works...! I'm guessing it will because your logic and solution seem spot on for my issue. Thanks for the great vid!!!

    Thanks, I didn't know it came apart . Mine is a old stainless chapin , it had been sitting for a long time it had dirt inside I cleaned it out now works like new. I'm always glad to fine young men like yourself who know so much more than this old fart.

    After buying a new sprayer to replace the one that wouldn't pressurize and finding the new one no better, I took your advice and pulled mine apart. The O-rings were fine and in correct position (although not sufficient to make a tight seal). What I figured out is the problem is the grease. They put in just enough to lubricate the plunger, but not enough to complete the seal. Guess that would have cost $0.03 more. I put in the little grease I had and BINGO. Pressure! So now I'll return the new sprayer and pick up some grease (which I need for my lawn tractor anyway). I plan to fill the tube about 1/4 full with grease and expect no more problems.

    Caution using oil or gasoline based products. Silcone spray or "rubber grease" (used on rubber brake seals) might be better.

    Thankyou! My pressurs sprayer is not the same...but had a pressure issue - I worked out (after watching your vid) where the problem was! The rubber seal had moved and is slightly kinked (meaning it wasn't closed properly and therefore couldn't build up any pressure). All working fine now - saves me time and money in replacing :)

    and dont forget to check the big gasket on the plunger body tube assembly itself....if its bad the tank wont hold pressure...also if you dont have a replacement gasket you could use Teflon tape on the threads as a temp fix.

    Any tips for how to replace the 'rubber gasket'? My sprayer was in storage for the longest time, and after i brought it out to be used again, the pressure was gone and i opened the pump system and found that the 'gasket' area had broken into many small pieces. Doesn't seem to be rubber though, but may have stiffen up over the years that it doesn't look and feel like rubber. Was some translucent white material that was broken. Would appreciate any advise on this!

      Probably not going to be easy but I would get measurements and poke around online to try and find one or local hardware store and see what they. Napa is usually good about finding weird little parts like that too.

      So folks mentioned using a silicone based spray or "rubber grease" works best. I used a lubricant they sell at at home depot that is for garage doors because i happened to want to do that too and that was years ago and still works.

      I have the one for bleach and realized it was leaking air at the top. The thread seal tape helped a bit and the o-ring at the top looks fine but must be the issue.

    Ah ha! I have 3 different sprayers I've held onto in hopes I might find a fix. My husband just goes out and buys the newer/cheaply made/less featured ones before I get around to fixing them. I know I have one of these & I'd place money in Vegas this is probably the problem. As it's one of the better sprayers, I look forward to killing the weeds in fast order soon. Thanks for the guidance!

    Best is vaseline on the rubber. lt works on o rings as well as paint sprayers and lasts longer.

    • @jasperstarr6804
      @jasperstarr6804 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like other petroleum derivatives, vaseline destroys rubber over time. Unless you're working in a petroleum-based environment (e.g., o rings in an internal combustion engine where petroleum resistant materials are used), o rings should be lubricated with silicone grease.
