As i watched this video it occured to me that perhaps in order to make the Schrader valve more secure and possibly seal better that after the Schrader valve is threaded in from the outside one could add a rubber washer topped by a brass washer topped by a brass nut to the threads of the Schrader valve on the inside of the bottle. Brass would be needed to prevent disimilar metal corrosion. The bottle plastic is kind of thin to depend on that little bit of threads in the plastic.
Hi Jamie. You have been very helpful on my learning journey. I have a question about your 33 gallon tank. How many cars can you wash with that tank size ?
Hey thanks a ton! I typically fill it up after each detail but I can easily do 1-2 cars depending on how conservative I am with my water. If it is a super dirty vehicle or a really large SUV I usually expect to fill it after.
Thanks for this video. Hey what's that air compressor attachment called that allows you to fill the bottle with air as soon as it comes in contact with the Schrader valve without having to squeeze a trigger or anything?
Forgot to mention. I used a tire valve stem removal tool to pull the tire valve to its locked position. You can thread the removal tool onto the slime valve as soon as the valve threads poke through the drilled hole. Those tools are only a couple bucks but if one doesnt have that can carefully use channel locks to pull the tire valve to the locked position.
If you google IK Sprayer filters you will see some replacement kits from various distributors. They are 11mm filters. There are a few other aftermarket options as well. I think they also come with the IK Replacement Nozzle Kits. I know it kinda sucks you have to buy a kit just to get some filters
If you could figure out how to mount the valve to the top, then yes it would work, but just from looking at the top itself and how IK does there valve stem on the top of their Multi Pro 2 + sprayers it would be pretty difficult. Super easy way is to just put the valve in the bottle.
I do use Carnauba Cream from SP but typically don’t use it for the length of protection. When I’m using a carnauba wax, I’m typically using it for the look of it. Super warm wet deep glossy look vs the cooler look of most synthetic protection options. I would say you are getting around 2-4 weeks max out of it depending on if it is garage kept and how much you drive the vehicle. Definitely worth a try if you like waxes.
ideas on what the issue is with being able to fully pressurizing (with manual pump on a 1.5 foamer) but spray only lasts 2-3 seconds before needing to repump? until starting to spray it hold pressure. would this be an issue with the o-ring(s) on the nozzle?
If you have the bottle pretty full it will only take a few pumps to pump it up. Then when you go to spray it will only last a couple seconds. It has to do with the volume of air that is able to pressurize the bottle. If you don’t have enough volume, you won’t get a very long spray time. As your bottle gets more empty it will spray longer but will take more pumping to prime it. Try putting less product on the bottle and see if you have a longer spray time. If it is a leak you can normally pressurize the bottle (pump it up) then spray some soapy water on the nozzle, lid seal and top to find what O-ring is leaking.
@@jamiesdetailing thanks - is seems the time per spray is consistant if the bottle is mostly full or nearly empty. will try the soapy water around the nozzle to see if those are leaking.
@melindavermeer Regularly, there will be a very large difference between spray time for an almost empty bottle fully pressurized and an almost full bottle fully pressurized. The more air volume available to use for air pressure the longer it will spray. If you notice no difference between the 2 you have a leak or some other problem.
Sooo, being in the bike industry it dawned me today. Why not just remove the hand pump and install a presta valve instead of a shreader. No drilling needed! Presta valve have been used on the track at 200 psi so I'm sure the cap will fail before the valve does. I got a prest stem for tubeless race tires. $4. The base seals up as you screw down the nut. No need for grease because the seal is silicone. Pumped it up to 80 psi and did all 4 wheels without refilling air. No tools. Easy peasy. 😂😊
@JaydE3much I removed the whole pump assembly, which left a small hole perfectly sized for the presta valve on the cap. However, mine just had the thinner steel rod. The pump shaft in the video is too large to do my hack
@@ShebanFPV unfortunately it won’t work on the top part. It is multiple pieces and not quite enough room. The one they sell with the valve is molded specifically for it. Trust me I checked that first
As I watched this video it occurred to me that perhaps in order to make the Schrader valve more secure and possibly seal better perhaps after the Schrader valve is threaded in from the outside if one added a rubber washer topped with a metal ( brass or stainless) washer topped with a brass nut to the Schrader valve threads on the inside of the bottle it would be more secure. The plastic of the sprayer bottle is kind of thin to rely on the threads to hold. I mention brass as not to have dissimilar metals in case it ever would have to be removed.
I can’t argue with that logic 🤣👊🏾 I got these because I like the style and that type of stuff. They all work about the same. I will say IK obviously has better tips/ spray pattern and the foam version is nice when I want foam
@@jamiesdetailing agreed. Guess it’s all in what application you’re looking for. I do have a big ik sprayer with the battery. But that is only used for my apc pre wash. All the little bottles for wheels, grill etc. Cheap and toss.
Great video, helped me fix my sprayer for next to nothing in MINUTES!
🙌 Glad I can help!!
Thank you so much brother. Life saver and great detailed information
What a cheat code!! Thank you!

Exactly right now watching one of your videos. Can’t thank you enough man 🫡💪
Instead of a regular 5/16" bit i use a step drill bit. Much easier and cleaner. Try it and you'll never go back.
Definitely a great suggestion 👊🏾 thanks for being here my man
Always glad to help. Thanks.

Subscribed top video thanks 👍
That is a countersink bit. Used for countersinking screws.

Where can you get the little foam tabs that come with the foamers , they clog up after a while and need to be replaced

Why drill on a side and not the top part? 🤔

More dangerous to have no liquid in the container when u pressurize it. For first test fill it with liquid and pump up to at mim working pressure.
