This was clear in summer that we needed new midfielders! Klopp didn't agree! It's on his head for failing to evolve the team!
Harvey Elliott sadly doesn't have the level to start for Liverpool (not at this stage anyway). Henderson and Fabinho have regressed. And Klopp's refusal to adjust and go to a back 3 to cover for TAA has cost Liverpool this season. He needs to become more flexible with his formation moving forward as Liverpool (hopefully) retool this summer. This is no longer working, for a variety of reasons.

@@stephencrowley3503 I'm not convinced. You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm not seeing his impact. I think he's benefitting from low expectations in a lost season. Hopefully he unlocks his potential next year. He's not the only problem in midfield so reinforcements are needed either way.
All center backs are awefull this year , you wanna play 3 of them and in à tactically complicated sheme to pull of ? I dont think liverpool are able to play with à 3 man défense.they need some recruits in midfield and another agressive center back . Van djik is like Rafael varane , great when he has a great and agressive centerback with him which allows him to shine with his qualities : passing, head otherwise both varane and him cant lead by themselves à title wining team.
@@kaiseranubismilano A lot of teams are able to switch from a back 4 to a back 3 and vice versa. This requires preparation from the manager and the coaching staff. If Klopp doesn't plan for that because he's too stubborn to change his formation, then that's an indictment against him. TAA exposes their backline week after week, so unless you bench him, playing him in a wing-back position with a back 3 behind him would help cover for his weaknesses, and bring better balance to the team. The midfield is also an issue, obviously. But Klopp needs to at least TRY a different formation because this one's clearly not working.

Liverpool has an overall great squad, the problem is that with all those games nowadays combined with the Klopp style of football, you need to have legs to run and squad depth, especially in the midfield. If was up to me I wouldn't go for the mega signing of Bellingham but instead, I would spend on Amrabat, Sergej Milinković-Savić, Mac Allister, Manu Koné, Franck Kessié, James Maddison, Szoboszlai. There are so many good available mid-players, also Liverpool must get a proper Rb. Trent is one of the best going forward, but as a defender he is very lazy, and s poor.

Eliot is not good enough to be in the Liverpool starting 11. Moreover, it's time Trent starts warming the bench because he thinks there's no competition for him. We keep losing games from his position. We need to overhaul some of the players because they think they have achieved everything and there's nothing more to fight for.

The Midfield and the defense are the problem not the attack. by the way Sadio Manne is struggling at Bayern.
The Mané debate is starting to get very old now. He is not half the player that he used to be at LFC at the moment, so I beg to differ whether he would have made a significant difference with so many players playing so awful. Maybe he would have made a difference on that left and would have raised Andy Robertson's game yesterday, but we will never know. LFC should have kept Origi and Wijnaldum. They sold two potential game changers. The recruitment department messed up big time. If I was Klopp, I would leave at the end of the season.

But, regarding the 'biggest' club, you can't just count wins in one competition. You have to include wealth, stadium size, worldwide fanbase, etc. Liverpool are a budget big club, who can't or don't buy world class players or (except with Salah recently) pay the big salaries. So, with that in mind, Man Utd are the biggest club in England, I would say.. if we're trying to be impartial.

Note to Alexander Arnold, just because you can pass diagonally, doesn't mean you should. Liverpool hardly ever pass on the ground. They still make the forwards work hard on receiving it on their chest. Liverpool's best goals are counter attacks when they keep it on the ground. Their style of play is just too easy to pick apart. Brighton knew this and was ready for them both times. Liverpool play an extravagant brand of football and it just doesn't work anymore

They have the right players. You wouldn't have said this in May 2022. I think the players are fed up with the style of play. It doesn't work anymore. Klopp needs a new plan, a new game style. They are asking the players too play full throttle football when they just cannot cope anymore. The turnovers are costing them more than any other club. That's irrelevant. All last season they just battered man United, Ole, Woodward and always comparing how well liverpools recruitment was. Jota, Diaz, Thiago, on and on. That's when liverpool were doing well, now that Liverpool is struggling they've changed their tune. My point isn't about how well liverpools, Uniteds or anyones recruitment is or was but the fact that the ESPN crew know nothing. They are completely contradictory to things they've stated in the past just to fit their new story lines.
I agree, the problem with Liverpool has been a lack of recruitment. I've often stated in other posts that they never had a plan b when they didn't get Tchouameni. There were several midfielders they could have signed who, though they haven't had good seasons with their current clubs, would have provided quality minutes for Liverpool. Certainly good enough that they could have made top 4 and not overly expensive that they jeopardized funds for Bellingham this summer. Now even if you get Bellingham you still need 1 or 2 more midfielders, a right back, depending on how Calvin Ramsay looks in the summer, and 1 or 2 defenders just to even come close to competing for the title next season. That may not be possible because so many key backups lack confidence who may be needed if injuries are still a problem next season.

Why would a young player want to play for Liverpool? Klopp’s style obviously runs players into the ground. Maybe if you are a young RB who can’t play defense, doesn’t have positional awareness and likes to watch and walk.

The Liverpool defence was like a bunch of circus clowns for City's 3rd goal. There were 8 defenders in the box but City literally walked through them with their passes.
The best thing is for Klopp to leave before it get worse for him. I just can't stand seeing him next season at Anfield, I don't see him making any appreciable impact on the team next season even with 5 new players. It's time for him to leave Anfield he came he saw he conquered already.

Sadly Liverpool owners will back Klopp even if we relegate and most Liverpool fans religiously back Klopp because he won us trophies once for each competition including EPL after a devastating 30 years a club that had won it 18 times. I am also forever grateful for what did for us. But, unfortunately he is the main problem now and the signs are clear. If you're a top manager you don't let your team go from winners of EPL, CHL and CWC to an average position on the table. My fellow Reds still hope he will rebuild this summer and come back stronger next season. I say unfortunately his time however at Liverpool is over. Time will tell.

In 2015 I was praying we could get a coach like Klopp bcoz of his performance at Dortmund. My prayers were answered, and the rest is history.

I don't have the right of that decision, that is FSG-LFC decision but I think Zidane, Nagelsmann, Spalletti can be good replacements. However, as a lifetime Liverpool fan of 45+ years I'd like to see either King Kenny manager and Stevie G as his assistant or vice-versa. Yes, I was happy too when Klopp came but now after 7 years in charge things are as bad as they can be and if you think Klopp is NOT to blame than I cannot help you on that. But one thing stands true: he is not the same Klopp as when he started. His decision making has been wrong for most of this season. Starting Trent and Elliott has been one of his gravest mistakes. Refusing stubornly to buy midfielders has caused great damage.

We can't lynch Klopp for going down only one season. Just look at Sir Alex's performance in Man Utd,..it wasn't all smooth sailing. The 3 coaches you're proposing are all below Klopp's level.
I'd suggest we give him 2-3 more seasons to rebuild,..if he doesn't take us back to 2019-2020 level then we let him go. But he shall forever remain a Liverpool legend,..YNWA💪🏿‼️

No he can't and the fsg failure to invest in his quality of management to build a stronger squad is an absolute disgrace. fsg is the major problem,they've made hand over fist profit on klopp making the most out of low cost signings but there's only so much he can do when he's up against teams spending 3 times as much on players for a strong defence,midfield and attack and have the bench to back it up. The Liverpool team is depleted clear as day. Van dyjk,Trent,salah all over played due to no bench to play instead of them not to mention hendo,milner who had they're Glory in the team but are still regular 1st team choices and over played and let's face it are looking they're age.
The low-budget signings work when all of them are at their peak and on form. If one starts underperforming the system breaks down. FSG have said in the past if Klopp needed any signings they were ready to open up the checkbook, but Klopp has always said than and even up until the end of last season that he was happy with what he had.
