    Excited to try this!! When I was vegan, I used to preface new foods for my non vegan friends and family, letting them know that these foods were more “essence of” rather than “dupes for.” Vegan food is so delicious, but it’s almost like you have to be ready to appreciate it for exactly what it is rather than what it’s supposed to imitate; otherwise; you’ll be disappointed all the time.

    I love these kinds of recipes because they allow you to stretch meat into more meals. Not everyone is willing or able to give up all meat, but if you cook some pork bacon on day 1 and then make this dish with some of the bacon grease, you could stretch that flavour over several more days.

If anyone else watches sauce stache, he makes tons of meat replacements, but his taste tests are always the same... "this tastes EXACTLY like ____". Which isnt very convincing. I clicked this video purely to hear Emmy's honest opinion about the taste/texture. Great video as always, Emmy 👌👌

      Kind of gets old when folks accuse vegans of making judgments on what people eat or whatever. But it seems to usually be people such as yourself making the judgment. People who don’t eat meat are fully aware this doesn’t taste like the actual thing, as it’s not cured in salt and well it’s not the fleshy fat of a dead creature. Perhaps they find pleasure and joy in experimenting in the kitchen wo harming anyone. Why is that a problem? Perhaps I misunderstood 🤔… Best

    • @audreygibson4780
      @audreygibson4780 3 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      @@user-bv7mk8id5t very much misunderstood. If a person has been vegan for yrs I just think it would be hard to remember the taste. But then on the other hand u have a person that eats alot of meat is probly not gunna be as open minded to the new flavor. Emmy would know the taste but be open minded. Ppl such as myself? Wow....

      No one here is judging them on what they eat, we’re judging their ability to remember what real animal based products taste like and whether it’s actually as flavorful as they claim in “replacement” cooking videos.

    Long-time vegetarian here. I get really nervous when something DOES taste and/or look like meat. Start wondering if something got messed up and I'm actually eating an animal, so I never want these kinds of things TO taste like meat. I realize there's a perception that these kinds of products are supposed to be "meat substitutes" which may be especially high these days due to a certain new crossover market. Bleh. Anyway, tempeh also makes a good bacon.

    Emmy, you are not supposed to mix your spf with anything when applying. You are supposed to apply it under the foundation, so that you have an even layer of SPF protection under your foundation. Mixing your SPF with a foundation is gonna shear out your SPF and it won't result in even protection of SPF 30/50- you'll decrease the efficacy of your SPF.
