- We had rain and warm weather and then cold and a little snow. Melissa goes to Louisiana with the puppy Annie. Tapping the Maple trees and collecting sap. Figuring out run times for the Diesel Heater. Pork steaks over a wood fire. Melissa's homemade sourdough pizza.
That maple syrup thing is kinda cool never seen that done before.
Thanks for telling us Melissa and Annie have made it there and are safe. Want to see Annie with the kids. Very cool that you are socializing her and getting her used to travelling. Great video as usual. I still cannot believe how much privacy and land that you have. I am in a neighborhood with houses on both sides of the street and only separated by a small driveway. We sure live different lives. Stay safe and warm. God bless.
I have lived that life with my very first house I bought when I was 18. Once we got pregnant with Sara we moved but the neighbors were very close and totally not at all what I like. Back then though, I was young and partying and did not care. Lol.
I really enjoy it when you politely mention that you DID say within a previous video the WHY regarding something you are doing or not doing. It makes me smile every time. So glad Melissa & puppy arrived safely.
That is my non profanity way of explanation things. Lol. I am glad you noticed.
Hello everyone from Ontario, Canada.
Pork steaks, a staple on Joe's vids! Can't believe it's been since deer hunting we have seen this. They look great!!
Enjoy your time in Louisiana and the family Melissa. We have been having some beautiful weather down here the last few days. Behave yourself Joe 😂
That Bluetti stuff is major coin. I'm glad you're finally getting some free stuff for all your work! Also, I've seen people run their Diesel Heater exhaust through an old radiator. A little extra hose isn't going to cause any issues.
Glad to see new video tonight. Keep up the great work!
Great show, envy you with hardly any snow and tapping your trees, here in Nova Scotia, we are getting our second snow storm here in two weeks,, blaaaaa, bring on spring and the bugs lol, 😖not really , but I do despise winter, February can be brutal here, me and hubby love watching you, ☺️
Hey Joe glad to see you posted a new video unless we get some cold weather for the next couple of weeks doesn't seem like the fish house is going out on the ice anymore this year. I hope your surgery goes well and when you're done with surgery I hope you're not loading logs like that into the wood boiler like that anymore
Oh Annie! Shes praying she doesn't get dumped again! It's hard growing up! She is so beautiful. Would be neat to do a dna or whatever it's called for dogs. She looks like a mastiff and a rhodesian ridgeback mix.
Great video, as always. I can’t believe she hasn’t picked up the camper she bought, yet.
Annie's having herself a little adventure! ❤
You're a lucky man Joe, Melissa takes pretty good care of you and you know you'll never get bored in your diet!
Hello from James bay coast Quebec Canada 🇨🇦 I love to watch your videos Joe keep up the good work 👍🏽👍🏽
I added maple syrup to my sweet jerky marinade and it turned out great. Loved the diesel heater clips learning a lot thank you Joe 😮
Annie seems like a good girl!😊
Thanks Joe for doing an evaluation on this product, Thanks!...
Annie is such a cool pup!!
Glad your hernier surgery went well. You look like your doing much better now. Thank you for your videos. I had one done two years ago. Felt like my guts where gonna explode out of me just thinking about doing anything. Good recovery bud, I'm doing well now too. Took me a couple months to get back to normal.
My surgery happens on March 5th. I have not had it yet.
Thanks Joe! It seems really different without the snow! Thank you for sharing!
Great video Joe 👍👍 Really enjoyed it
4 pints is a good amount. At least you can say that you made some this year! 👍. 💖🌞🌵😷
Great video Joe. Very informative on the diesel heater.
Great video Joe. Syrup is looking delicious. The diesel heater is pretty amazing. To keep the ice castle even in the 60's on low is fantastic for such little fuel. Granted, it wasn't 20 below, but still still a good product.
Annie loved the run through the woods
It Looked Delicious!... Thumbs Up!...
I'm impressed with the heater. At 2.7 or so it looks like it could keep the fish house at 72 for 12 hours maybe. I hope you get lots of sap!!!
Supposed to hit 70/45f today, but I don't think we made it. Been chilly here, so I've been wearing my long johns!😇 Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵. Take care of yourself and each other 😷.
I believe you love is real Suzi but you still suck. Haha. A balmy 23 here and yes I have my long johns on and 2 shirts. Lol.
@@NorthernSeclusion , HEY! You are the big silly! You should have gone to LA with Melissa and be warm! Instead of sitting in an ice box. 💖🌞🌵😷
Hunters add cream or milk to water , dogs love it. Helps to hydrate them.
great video Joe!
Joe you have water in your hydraulic oil. The oil is thin from the water. That’s why you have little pressure. Drain the entire system and refill with fresh oil. That’s also why your oil looks so creamy.
Would be nice to see video or photos when you first bought property!! Youve come a long ways!!!!!!!
Congratulations on 100k🎉🎉🎉. 💖🌞🌵😷
The ceramic shop will be awesome.
Those maples even watching for a couple of years. You should get any of the brush hog cut all that shrub down around them
We could but it is better to just have trails so a person doesn't ruin it for all the wildlife.
Like the heater
Nothing like good food
Don’t know what it is but love watching these videos maybe it’s like what I do always doing something
Joe was voted the #1 working man in Minnesota
Great stuff Joe!
A+ Thanks
1.7 HZ is 170 clicks of the pump per minute i think
You could use that old radiator/disel heater trick up at the tent? 💖🌞🌵😷
Joe have Zac maybe to film your surgery to keep us updated..
18:39 too bad we can't figure out how to off load those logs, so you don't have to restack them... If you had pallet forks for your tractor, you could stack the logs on a pallet with sides and then move them nice and easy? 💖🌞🌵😷
I don't know whether or not your surgery will be day surgery or require you to spend the night in the hospital. If you will be spending the night, you will not like the hospital food. It will be nothing like your pork steaks! They looked so good. I hope you get a little syrup from your sap.
you may have water in the hydraulics . Chane the fluids .filter, and try to dry out the hadraulic tank the best you can the pump not getting enough fluids maybe causing it to build up pressure in the tank pushing fluid out the fill cap you might have to replace the pump but fleet farm in Cloquet or northern tool in Hermantown might have it also fleet farm in hermantown
Omg Joe I did a On my way! In the kitchen big mistake! Everything was covered and in sap ugh what a mess to clean up!
If you are in the market for a semi affordable wood splitter, tractor supply sells a countyline 25 ton that has never let me down. Great machine. Cheers from VT!
Kool! Neat!...
While Melissa's away, pork steaks every day!
The thing with plugging into your 12v power source is that when it's running and you have a power outage it can't go through the shut down stage. possible damage.
Same thing happens when the battery goes dead which is more likely than the power going out.
well not really, I own 4 of these not all the same brand but 2 of them ran low on battery power, which sent an error code then proceeded to shut down@@NorthernSeclusion
Looks like maybe the tank for the hydraulic is leaking. I've been looking at the Wolf ridge splitters don't know how it costs with shipping.
Hello Joe
Going to look 👀 up pizza recipe on rooster crow😮
isn't there something missing ? SNOW !
I can’t believe it’s syrup time already. Either I’ve paid poor attention or this winter was mild and fast. I’m also in Southern California so what do I know. 😂
One month earlier than usual and now everything is back to frozen so for now it is done.
if you go to top left button to settings you should be able to set it to run by temp so that once it reaches temp turns off
Wow, milki hydraulic fluid. Contaminated with water. Change it quickly. You may have to change it a couple of times to get the water out. Caused by condensation. When are you going to the tent,
I am buying a new pump and I will change the fluid at that time.
Was that clicking I heard from the diesel heater, an ignition?
It is the fuel pump. Many people complain about that when they mount them permanently inside of wherever they are using it. There is fixes for it, but since ours is outside it is not an issue.
Speaking of pork steaks..wonder how the tent is doing with this El Nino
About 8 inches of snow is all, and that is on the ski trails. Not much at all. I will be up there in less than 2 weeks and I do not anticipate much in the Tent yard but I will not drive in because although not groomed, there are still people skiing.
Any home made pizza taste good
😮
grey colored oil means water in oil
Think maybe I would change the hydraulic fluid in that splitter.
To me the splitter seems backwards, the wedge should be on the ram and fixed backstop on other end. Also the wedge seems too aggressive (wide) . Change fluid and if not better change the pump, looks like you are pumping air along with fluid.
My uncle Matt said it needs a new pump. I hate splitters that have the wedge on the ram. I can't stand them, that is why I looked forever to find this one.
good looking pizza please put it all on the rooster crows
You mentioned upcoming surgery? Hoping it's routine.
Double hernia. My surgery is o March 5th.
@@NorthernSeclusion
hello
Hi Alice.
👍😎🇨🇦
Joe you're a busy man, do you ever rest
They are going to force me to ("they" being Melissa) after my surgery. I have a LOT to get done prior to that.
Your wood splitter hydraulic oil is mixed with water. You're going to ruin the hydraulic pump, if you haven't already.
Joe if u have hernia u shouldnt lift all that stuff! That pizza did look amazing!!
Lol. Thank you but why? what could happen, I would need surgery? Lol.
Youre right..@@NorthernSeclusion
With the pork steaks, do you use a rub or a sauce?
I put "Johnnys Hunters Blend" seasoning on them. Once in awhile I will put "LaBlanc Guns N Roses" seasoning rub on them but not very often. I dislike using bbq sauces. The hunters blend is the best.
I am curious to ask if while you were out in the woods checking on the Maple tree tapping you are doing, do you check for dead standing or recently down trees that you can cut and burn in your boiler?
No, I do that assessment during the summer and fall. It is very hard to know what standing timber is dying or dead in the winter since they all look the same. I have a half dozen trees that need to be taken down and cut up before they rot so they can be used for firewood. I will take care of them later this year.
wood splitter looks like water in hyd fluid
Joe, what’s the name of that inverter your using with the heater, I got one that doesn’t maintain enough voltage to get burner to ignite, the inverter kicks out after pump runs for a bit!
This is the one I bought. You can adjust the voltage via the screw adjustment. Not sure this was the video I covered that in but I did show when I did that. www.amazon.com/dp/B08LDC41B6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Thank you!
That milky color of hydraulic fluid means you have water in it. That may not be the only issue, but its a problem. Good luck with the splitter fix and the upcoming surgery.....not sure when your date is but praying for the best for you.
March 5 th
I'm from Florida. So, what is the boiler for?
It heats the house and the house hot water. It heats the front and back parts of the workshop building and it also heats the guesthouse. It does this for the same cost it used to cost us just to heat the house alone in fuel oil costs. We have no natural gas here and in northern Minnesota, electric heat would be extremely expensive so no one has electric air handlers like many do down south.
@NorthernSeclusion so there is hot water circulating through your home, by a pump? Heated out in the boiler....does that heat your water in water heater too.
Could it be time for an update on the splitter?
Poor little Annie!! So scared, bless her!! Hope it doesn't make her sick!! I'd start using an eye dropper to put water in the side of her mouth every little bit so her kidneys won't get damaged from not drinking!!
Hey Joe. Is there a reason you are running the Honda with the Choke On?. I can tell by the idle and see it in the video.
Im no expert on hydraulics but you might need to bleed the air out of the system.
I have a new pump coming. I will install that and drain everything and put in all new fluid.
Does it matter which side of a tree you tap?
South side is best. It gets the sun and the warm side of the tree. That side will thaw each day faster and start pumping sap.
Do you have to tap a particular side of the tree? N, S, E, W?
South side, it gets the most afternoon (warmer) sun.
Why doesn’t the flue on the boiler have a cap on it ?
Pump is sucking air
What is making that loud knocking sound in the heater, is it always like that?
They do that. It is the pump.
Becky is correct, but although the camera picks up the sound, inside you really can not hear it.
do you deer hunt on this property??
I could, we have 37 acres but I don't. We have a lot of deer here but we just feed them and look at the trail camera pictures. I could shoot a deer off the back porch almost any day of the week. Not much sport in that.
For a smaller guy you are an animal Joe! That wood is not light!
a hawk
Where's Chunk? Is he okay?
He was in THIS video.
get married
Mind your own business !
joe's not too bright
Yet here you are...
So why watch it
Ronald is a dumb ass. Luckily I do not have to deal with him because I can deal with almost anything except..... Stupidity.
Take your hate elsewhere......
@@NorthernSeclusion 😄👍
Boring most of them are.
So why are you watching?
Take your hate elsewhere.....
@ 13:08 you looked as though you were taking a leak on the tree lol 😁
I thought that too when I edited it. I wondered if anyone else would think that. Lol.
I thought the same thing.
Me too
