the risk of moving the silver tree from his starting quadrant is that SjoW would be able to raid his trade. His navy was preventing a small raid in feudal from getting past his own crossings.
yeah it was pretty obvious that daut was prioritizing safety over higher gold output it was also pretty obvious that elite lancers trade very favorably with springalds. i almost muted drongo over how bad his takes were.
@@andrewwashburn6080 More like he forgot about it for the longest time. He could have moved it forther up in his own quadrant to improve gold output, but never did. Should have done so once his first ovoo expired.
Cast a team game. 1v1 is getting covered heavy anyways, shake stuff up.

Great stuff! DauT was absolutely dominant in this game, and we wasn't even terribly aggressive early on.

Because of the Springald mass I would assume Springalds havnt been nerfed yet.
Springald will be nerf this week but don't know when. At least not today.
It's not exponential growth the further the distance is, as you say the earned gold is quadruple the distance so it's linear. I'm not fun at parties.
Since you say this every time someone uses traders: The gold-gain with distance is not exponential, it is just doubled (as you say, walk twice as far - gain 4x the gold). If it was exponential you could get millions of gold from trading (not even exaggerated). Maybe this is nitpicky, but I feel like in times of Covid it would really be nice if more people knew what exponential growth really means...
It still can be exponential, your exponent doesnt have to be one tile. It can be 10 or 100. Would also work. But linear is way easier.

I feel like, currently you’re always better off opening archers no matter what the opponent does. They are effective against spears, work defensively against horsemen. Am I crazy for thinking so? I can’t think of how spearmen are a better open past 6min.

I'm no pro-AOE-player by any means, but archers are definitely my go-to. I'll always start producing some a few minutes into age 2, as that's when the hard/hardest bots start harassing a lot. Definitely seems like the most versatile troop for early defense.
There is an argument for m@a for the civs that have them early, but in most situations archers just win early.
Usually archers are good as a starter if you don't go against something like the French and sometimes Rus/Mongol. If you expect cav it's good to open spears and then archers, depending on what you want to do. The other benefit of spears is siege. You can pick off gold mines and docks that are not very well defended.
If you want to go just harass your opponent then most often archers/cav are the way to go
Spears can be good Age 1 to secure certain parts of the map and do some early harassment (specifically as the Mongols on Hybrid Maps) but once age 2 is reached, unless you play as a civ that has access to armored units (Early knights / MAA) Archers definitely seems like the way to go so far

@aedin You didn't understand the question. Diagonal wall build is much cheaper and space efficient than the cross counterpart. I'm not sure either why do they build cross instead of diagonal 🤷♂️
@@yerdude probably a little difficult to draw the wall diagonal / you don't want gaps ASAP. starting the horizontal part to stop land units makes it safer to complete the rest of the wall. That's the only reason I can't think of anyway

You have to get lucky and have stone spawn right on the shore. You can only build an oovoo on stone.
Docks as far i know dont get ovoo production...and i only play mongols

we have to do something with the market. should we? in 1v1 match, if you have the focking market, 95% you win that game. a tons of gold!
How to become a pro player in Aoe, where should I play
Start against AI, learn every civilisation and understand their core strengths. Watch a lot of videos, specially how pro's play. Build order, military tactics etc.
Learn the early economy, this is like the main key to successfully win the games. You don't even have to think about military, lose the games but just improve the economy play and if you feel comfortable, take new things. Also watch your own replays to see what enemy did better.

Practice, lots of practice.
Once you get your mechanics down like real good then it's time to improve your game sense, stuff like hey in this position I should do this so that happens and I win.

LOL it's weird to see because all pros knew the Mongols gonna get nerf hard so no one wants to spend extra time on them but once they play the Mongol they just couldn't stop the power of the Mongol from just wipe everything.

Just me or did it seem very lazy from both of them? He saw many horses, and i guess he thought men at arms was gonna hack the problem. Spears are sadly way too good to handle horses.
I dont understand why Rus didnt try and accumulate either faster relics or better bounty.
