send the villagers on top of the wall then archers will do much less damage. You can also send your villagers on top of the wall while the stone tower is building and cancel it, so your enemy infantry won't be able to catch them and you can extend your stone wall with villagers on top.
You can also build the stone towers while on the wall. So even better there too. Idk this could been really intense maybe with some chook a nu units as well mixed in the rush idk. Worth experimenting and improving I think for sure

The villagers can even drop torches on the rams from the top of the wall if the distance is right.
Just get archers and a siege tower, this stone rush canceled. And then go straight for his base since the opponent has less workers
I love the siege tower being able to place units on walls. Such a cool dynamic.

Lol what’s a hilarious strategy, but I’m not sure how viable it is, or how much better than just using an outposts with handcannon slits, much faster to set up and less stone required. Anyway it all started to fall apart when he placed the clocktower, that was a terrible choice.. should have at least finished the stone towers first, and definitely moved it back a bit further
When the rams came in, he should have changed stone for food and biuld a bunch of scouts or speerman to harasse eco afterfinishing up thd rams
Wow, if he built some stables and produced masses of scouts, he could have defended those walls perfectly from the rams for cheap and the walls/towers would have taken care of the archers. Really interesting all-in strat.

If I recall correctly, archers have always been able to fire over stone walls, crossbows never could

full marks to Dick the birthday boi for not giving up when cornered from all sides within his own base throughout the game and yet be able to win the game...just that I don't understand why Delhi players act so conservative when clicking on all the upgrades asap(except Fitzbro I think)...you can always cancel to sequence them, at least won't be blamed of being forgetful.

Best way to prevent rams is by taking the wood lines first
This is so fucking lame and it's clearly exploiting. AoE3 has a great solution to clear exploits like this. You weren't able to build within a certain radius of the enemy's TC. Shit like this just makes people quit the game.

Fun game to watch. I'm very glad Richard managed to wiggle his way out, I certainly would have cracked under the pressure of constant alerts and mind games.
I cried so much when he cancelled finishing the defense in favor of making the landmark so close to his enemy :( Very obvious mistake imo. The Age up should of waited just a little longer.
Verry hard to make a choise.. Being impressed with the creativity, or with the amasing defence...
Or maybe learning how to spell English properly.

I dont mean to sound rude but i really feel like Derios just kinda relaxed way too hard on his economy when he didnt need to he floated alot of resources for a high level player i feel like with proper economy behind him he could win, he also made a bunch of completely troll decisions and mistakes, not that im even close to as good as he is just spectator perspective

I do this against the AI in every single game vs. hardest. They literally have zero defense against even a wooden tower rush. I then double build barracks and it's GG.
Ai is weak in this game, you can win with just horses and archers in fedual vs hardest ai
@@superstar5042 I agree. I do 1 v 2/3 on hardest for a chill game but they definitely need to buff every difficulty level.

I can usually manage it as the mongols, or the Brits. But that’s it.
Maps with choke points are easy. Those without, I just lose the initiative defending everywhere, and end up either being swamped by knights and men at arms, backed up with artillery. Or a stubborn stalemate around a string of forts I build halfway up.
Either way, the AI eventually out produces me.
Love the game though. Am going to have another go.

This kind of play reminds me of what I would do in Stronghold. Just build a few sections of walls and stack archers on top. Though for Age of Empires IV you can do it with stone towers. And I guess more archers. You can defend your resources far better that way than with just outposts

Strange match but siege war is top to watch....siege towers, units on walls and such things are top to see and to develop.....ladders, balistas.....a siege dlc should be a great
Many other would have given up to a tower rush like this, but the birthday boy didnt, he fought through it, huge respekt there from me!
Also might want to try this on a factipn that doesnt get siege engineering automatically right? Could have better success
He over committed to the tower rush, some ranged units to roam around and harass villagers would have sealed it and just use the towers to keep the opponent off of his gold/stone.

There's no ranked mode so how are these players ranked on a ladder? If it's curated by real people for now, why would they validate a smurf?
@@Astro-Rabby Wasn't sure it was a genuine question. The quick search is ranked and uses the rank for matchmaking, but the ranking is not shown in the game, nor is it labelled as official. Those ranks are available on the official AOE4 website.
