I am currently a sophomore in high school, and I've played Roblox since I was 7 years old. Until I was 10, my entire chat feature was turned off, but this was way before the age guidelines came out. Be careful, as Roblox has just introduced 17+ games, mostly for gore. Realistically violent games are sort of easy to find, if your account is 13+. Use the safety guidelines feature for elementary kids. There are way more now, but just know, your child will access things they aren't supposed to see some day.

I’ve been playing Roblox for about 7 years now. I can tell you the game used to be terrible at making sure nothings bad, but now over the years they had gotten more moderators so it’s safe to an extent but even in the moderators don’t completely moderate all the stuff. That’s what you use the settings.Through my little experience on Roblox is a fun game. I even played games with my mom on there it was a cool bonding experience. I’ve never seen my mom play a game and she was actually better than me at the game.😆

Predators are online. Roblox is online. how do you turn off sexual acts simulations?? and yes it did happened. I bought my kids a switch so he can play offline games. We are still in that stage to go completely offline. The easiest way is to give our kids the attention they need from us. Yes, it's hard bc parents are just forever busy or on our damn phones. Let's just be honest here. The goal is to discover offline games that the kid and the family can have fun playing.
But the nintendo switch has online games as well

I’m thinking of taking the app off my 8YO iPad. I don’t like the games she has access to in there. I hear gun fire, there’s a scary clown chasing and killing people, and people she doesn’t know let her in their “homes” and it creeps me out. I don’t like it at all.
To any parent considering letting your kids play Roblox I highly recommend watching the two Roblox Investigation videos by the TH-cam channel People Make Games, it goes all in on Roblox's shady business practices and how its possible to be mistreated on the platform. As someone who's been playing Roblox since 2015 I do think the platform can absolutely be fun and safe IF you're careful, as is the case with many things online. As someone who definitely believes kids should have freedom to explore the web within reason, Roblox is one of those things you need to have a safety chat about covering all sorts of topics on the platform such as the digital item market that could be compared to gambling, and how to not be exploited under Roblox's exploitative systems.

There is many ways to stay safe. I’ve also played ROBLOX for a while. And there are settings and things. And Roblox has shady business practices? If you are a parent there are so many ways to keep your child safe. And Roblox already helps with that with safe chat and what not.

I've been playing roblox for FIVE YEARS and I've been bullied only like two times. There were no predators like many people warn about, only the occasional weird player who is probably weird ironically. I honestly don't know why roblox is targeted more by parents than other games like minecraft.

Awesome tips especially about the age. We may not want to give out our kids age so putting in ours could expose them to a lot more dangers. Having a fake set age for your kid accounts should help. Thank you for this, as I watched it with my daughter. She and I both loved it

If you're birthday/age is younger than 13, then more things that you and others say will get censored/tagged, that's really the only difference. If you want to keep your child safe on roblox parental controls exist and you can enable parent pin to prevent your child from disabling it and if they logged out of there roblox account you ask your kid what there username and password and if they say no or tell you the wrong username and password and give you something stupid you say if you don’t tell me your grounded from what ever they enjoy doing and never want to be grounded from doing and then they will give it and if they are some how online dating and talking and pretending to have you know what in a bed or if they are talking to strangers and giving personal information and learning things that only adults or teenagers in high school are supposed to know and pretending to do sexual stuff in the game your child is doing something that is against the roblox terms of service you take the device of the little snot and forbid them to play any online games what so ever and you get a therapist for them because you were to lazy to watch what your kid was doing on the internet and also roblox parental controls is kind of weak but real parental controls like a setting in their pc or an app on their tablet or phone and you enable it and you can watch and see what they do on their game Very simple also if you forbid them from playing roblox forever you can call roblox to terminate their account if they bought something with your credit card without you knowing you can call up roblox support look up the number on the internet and tell them it was an unauthorized charge and they will refund the money back to you and you can tell them to terminate your child’s account and forbid them from playing the game ever

My 7 year old told me yesterday that a player (avitar) picked up her avitar and carried her around. Then she said he put an umbrella up and the talking box said kissinflg kissing. My daughter had access to this game and shes only 4 years old with other children at the daycare without my permission, she is a sweet girl and overnight she became extremely violent. I started to investigate and found that the only thing that had changed was her playing this game game, i'm a 27 year old young mother, i've always loved games and never been boring with these things but honestly this game is for 16 year olds no less. Today in Brazil, my home country, a boy sh*ot his parents to de*th because they forbade him to play this game, it is the responsibility of parents to coordinate the time their children spend on the internet and what they are doing, but society also does not help parents In this difficult task, it takes a whole village to raise a child, so the child will never be raised only by the parents, we need to protect the children.
as someone who's played roblox since I was nine, at still plays at 14 (mind my profile picture, I selected something random and funny) so anywho, I've been playing for around 5 years and this game is NOT safe for children, as a child myself, this game is safe if you're 1 - 7years old, you simply cannot read and really understand people at that age, just be wary that roblox is extremely addictive.
the reason roblox is so addictive is that it's not just one game, it's multiple, so when you get bored of one roblox game, boom, just switch to another.. then another.. then another.. then another. it simply dosent get boring
but in any case, this game is EXTREMELY dangerous, when I was 12, I ended up meeting a girl on roblox, her name was Amy, we talked a bit and ended up bypassing the roblox filter and gave eachother our social medias. we were in a stupid online relationship for about 4 months, I never called her, never FaceTimed her, or never sent her a video of me, while she always called me and showed me her face it was very clear she was 12. but she had no evidence I was 12 myself. she just trusted me, i could've groomed her and done some serious damage if I were a 60 year old man, she wouldnt know, we ended up breaking up over an argument I can't remember, but it's insane how we completely bypassed robloxs "safe filter" so flawlessly. this game isn't safe for vulnerable kids.

I see my son (6) finding lots of games with guns. ( within rblx of course) you shoot each other. The weight lifting simulators are interesting as well, because the more you stare at the screen, the bigger your character gets and the easier it is to hurt other players when you bully and fight them. Hide and seek, meep city and adopt me seem to be the only fun ones in my opinion. And lots of obbies are also harmless. An obie is simply an obstacle course. Think like a puzzle of sorts. Simulators is how kids learn to interact with other people. Like through the chat. They can bully and if they don't like the other person or what they are doing, they can always punch or shoot them so that the other character dies or respawns. I got my eye on this roblox. Remember doom? I think it was a game popular with some boys from a school called Columbine in 1999...

Honestly for everyone watching Roblox isn't gonna do anything and your kids will have to learn the hard way, I've been in this game for awhile (6 years) I may not know everything but I know most than these kids people hack items from kids for money or virtual currency or just to keep the items people sell the stolen items for real life money and to get the robux currency in the game there's ways on other apps that allow you to get hacked in 2 clicks or a link that looks super similar to a real Roblox website like replacing WWW with VVV I feel like this game has fell off honestly also the community is so toxic. The chat filter is easily bypassed give teenagers and kids a competitive game or they die they start talking trash because the moderation sucks they keep doing it Roblox will never be a safe place for your kids people will be roasting and arguing in the chat no matter what age online daters you name it it's in this game in the most kid friendly games it's not kid friendly the main problem is the games are safe but the community SUCKS

Recent research showed that playing video games more than 2 hours per day causes brain damage.. kids need to be spending their time learning and socializing and helping with house chores.. if they have spare time they need to have real hobbies and sport, learning about this game has zero benefit and tremendous danger.. it doesn’t take more than couple of minutes to loss a child .. why risk your kids?
Coming at this from a developer viewpoint, Roblox is a buggy mess that i spent more time troubleshooting than playing.
From a parental viewpoint, Roblox is scary. We locked down the parental controls as tight as we could when our small kiddos wanted to try it and everyday there were new games (e for everyone) featuring guns, bloody monsters, etc... no idea how roblox hasn't been sued to oblivion

my son is exposed to bad swear words on this game and we have strict parental controls. it sounds like a radio and talking and they start using swear words. I don't understand how this is allowed and why this happens. I hate this game
roblox infact IS safe. 1. If you try to curse it will detect and put ### as well as other stuff like inappropriate words. w.Players can choose an age minimum for their game, roblox will ask for your age so if you put 4 May 2000 and its rated 30+ (won't happen but for example.) it won't let you join. 3. Decals or inappropriate clothing will get taken down by roblox. 4. you CAN have controls on your child's account, making them unable to chat, join certain games, etc.. So Roblox is originally and always designed for kids. Now, you have to be aware, put a family link, screen time etc, and ask to buy so they don't buy anything without your permission. MEANING if your child bought 20 dollars worth of roblox its not their fault.
I play roblox with my kid all the time. As long as u have a basic understanding of the internet life ull be fine. There is a small minority of bad things in the game ,but at this day in age every game has its negatives. Being a cyber security admin as a career, i put strong emphasis on detecting preditors and known whats in games is not real life. My sons pretty good at determining whats reality and whats not

People gettting into your ROBLOX account is nothing to be worried over. Its nearly impossible to do it without the roblox cookie that has your password or your password. You can't even say in roblox "My password is..." So getting hacked shouldn't be worried about with young children.
I wish I could agree but there are so many ways a Roblox account can be hacked without sharing a password in an in-game chat. But I would say worrying isn't the solution, the solution is learning how to protect all accounts regardless of its type.

Roblox is 100% safe if your child is just playing fun games that keep them entertained but sometimes kids can talk to others , make online friends, share their personal info to them. If your child does this you should really have a talk with them or just delete Roblox for them if your nervous what they can do on this game.

as a former roblox play, it is very gruesome and infects the childs brain. the children are exposed to inappropriate content and inherit toxic behaviors. ROBLOX IS NOT A PLATFORM FOR YOUR KID AND DONT LET THEM ON.
I definitely hear you! When speaking to parents I stay away from black or white statements since every child/teen is different. So each parent has to make a informed decision based on the native safety/security/parental features and their child/circumstance 😊
Roblox moderation is honestly horrible now it's not their fault completely but if you don't want your child being exposed to certain language I would recommend either turn off the chat feature or have a conversation with them about anything they hear and help them understand it (depends on the age though).
Yes. It is remotely safe. But there are some games that have explicit content. Unfortunately, These games can slip through the radar because of Roblox’s poor security. Also, there is a filter that you can turn off chat.

If you are wondering, roblox is mostly safe for kids. As a minor it's a pain to see some parents unaware and only believing the porple who are saying roblox idnt safe when they don't know anything about roblox.First of all curse words ir other incorporate words are sensord with #####. Plus the only way to use a link to leave roblox is by going yo a accounts profile and go on a link of wich there are only 5 platforms u can go to.
If your kid doesn't know about E-Saftey then what parent are u letting ut kid on s online game. Makesure you teach your kid ehat not to do online. Also font active the parental controls dance they are useless. It disables chat eich ruins the whole point of roblox. Getting hacked isn't a problem either since you can't say your password in chat. While yes there are some (not many) innspropriate games on roblox. Also preditors are extremely rare and it's hard for them to bring u outside the platform. If your kid under 10-12 is playing I recommend u ask them what they're doing on roblox.

Belive me if parent want to be a parent he'll know how to do proper parenting. It's something that we have by nature. Of course you've seen other parents mistaking or doing right things with their kids so implement that.
We can't escape XXI century and digitalization and monetization of everything but we can watch and learn what is good for our kids. Roblox was made with good intentions but when older people on video platforms saw opportunity to take big $$$ making sometimes disgusting videos with Roblox characters it become NO zone for kids. Fast segments,yelling and screaming,confusing scenes,blinking lights changing every second ... CRAZINESS! Kids are attracted to those things. So parents if wanna have physically and mentally healthy kid arm yourself with patience and level yourself to the point where your kid can understand what are you trying to tell him/her. Steer your kid in the right direction and you have done a great thing. Being a parent is not just having a child. Parenting is very complex and individual but reward is priceless.
