Fantastic song really should have been right up there much under rated shame ive still got the cover plus album the artwork is beautiful i could go on forever about songs that deserved to be HUGE!!!.
That's hilarious. There's an interview with Hazell from 1982 here on TH-cam where she says she's stopped watching top of the pops because music in the 80s was "such dross". It seems that as we get older, we forget how crap a lot of stuff was. The 80s had some great music, but it also had a lot of utter rubbish.
Love this song - was on a Hits compilation LP that I was gifted (age around 11ish) in the early 80s. One of my absolute fave songs from it (also Depeche Mode's first hit single on there as I recall), this remains one of her best tunes. Perhaps the double-standard prudes at the beeb thought it too risqué?
A few nice bits have surfaced including a full length version of Where Did Your Heart Go by WHAM! that was cut down by over a minute on broadcast. I'm scared of getting a strike on that so not gonna post.
Nice to see this, funny that when it was filmed they were probably at No47 (week of 8th AUG) and the following week they topped out at No41. Some weeks on TOTP that would have been enough. Andy Qunta (Icehouse) on keyboards here, she had some good people backing her (terrible label Albion though).

At work they all sang along to this one, even the old 'guys'. Now I'm one I still sing along. Great song... 👍
Brilliant to see this. Thank you. This should have been a huge hit in my opinion. I've still got the vinyl. 50p from Woolworths.

Brilliant
Brilliant! Not for the masses apparently.
If it was broadcast it might have been a big hit. Her other song Time Ain’t on Our Side should have been a hit also.
Wow inpressed by your findings Steven Flavell as it's not listed on the Top of The Pops Achive :)
