Nice job mounting that beast. I just mounted my new 6.5" vise to my 1" plywood decked workbench with steel frame. It presented its challenges due to its design limitations. I ended up using an 8x8 quarter inch thick steel plate underneath the vise to give more support to the bolts. Was a pain to drill, but worth it.
Good job going for the pipe jaws option and the twist and pivot design. My own vise is a Yost 750-E of similar design, and I love it. I just finished my new bench, and I'm looking at installation options.
I dont know how you have not gone crazy the last 10 years! I was getting annoyed in the hour it sat not bolted LOL! Go bolt yours down already!! Thanks for tuning in!
Good evening Sir 😉 Great Vise in deed, I would probably grease the vise screw and on swivel plates too 😉👍 That vise will last you forever for sure 👍 We have a big weather change ( warm air tomorrow ! ) and then the rest of the week a lots of fool weather !!! ) Great fun wording Sir 👍 Cheers !!!
Hey Dave! I will grease it for sure! Wouldnt hurt! Its still decently nice around here still in the 40's but the chill is around the corner! Thanks for tuning in!
Hey Jay!! My vise I have is almost the same one!! Your all "fired" up about your new vise hahaha lol!!!!! That's the exact way I mounted mine! Doing right the first time!! Hope all is well my friend!!! Stay safe!
Hey Tim! I was and still am so happy! I sharpened my Echo chainsaw with it today and man it was nice to be able to position however I need to so I can get the right angle on my saw! If we ever move Im taking this shed with me ahhaha ive put way to much time into it! hahah stay safe!
HI Jay. Nice video but you are using hex screws (thread runs all the way up) and not lag "bolts", actual name lag screws, which have the thick screw and pointy ends that screw into wood. If the thread runs all the way up like yours, they are hex screws. When the thread runs halfway up they are called hex bolts. If the socket is inside the head of the bolt/screw, they are called cap bolts/screws. Just a little FYI but as long as it works who cares!! :)
Nice job, Jay. Those bolts extended past the 2x4 as needed for security. Will you leave them hanging low, or cut them back. The chance of you gouging your leg if you sit is small (because of their location close to the bench leg) but better safe than sorry, right? Awesome video!
Hey SEK! Thought about it but they are not in the way and you are exactly right I was wondering if it would be in the way and seemed fine! Even if I straddle that post like working close to the vice its still not in the way! Thanks for tuning in as always!
I have an 8x4, 3 sided walk around bench, one side to a wall, and was looking at fixing various tools to it. I have the time to slow think things through and I envisualised the many jobs I will be doing and found some of the bench tools would get in the way. What to do? I decided not to permanently fix anything to the bench but to drill holes through the bench into the steel frame and fix the tools using Antiluce bolts. This means I can fix a tool down quickly, do the job and quickly remove it again leaving a free bench. Stuff falling down the holes.....stop confusing the issue...
Indeed a removable vice isnt a bd d thing. I use this short bench stricly for just chainsaw work and hand tools so a permenant mount is nice for my but yes I see the benefit of a smooth flat workbench pending project! Thanks Bob! God bless!
Soon! I am free two hours during the day but I got a feeling no one will be around lol I may try it one day! Id give a heads up in a posted video before I went live

I've had my bench vice sitting loose on the workbench for 10 years. I need to take the time to actually bolt it down! :) Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jay! That’s a nice vice! I like the dual swiveling jaws. Good job on the installation. Your shop/shed is really coming together!

Hey Kevin! Thanks for correcting my verbiage! Either way its solid like a rock LOL! Thanks for watching!
Did you screw that extra support into the tabletop, or just with the snug fit?
I secured the leg to the side and front 2x4 plus screwed through floor into joist!
I like your new video today you did a really good jop look really nice look cool buddy good jop buddy this was cool buddy

I just love tools.
First thing man ever did was invent a tool lol I love them as well!
U can use lag screws also to secure vice
Yes but overtime those can loosen or get sloppy. I like the bolts lol

Or buy shorter bolts for the inside.
