  • End of 2022 and its time to take the bikes out for another touring adventure into Thailand.
    This time round, the destination is Bangkok, a round trip of 4100km. We set out early morning on 23rd Dec 2022 with a conservative target to reach Bangkok by the 26th.
    First overnight stop was the town of Butterworth, Penang. The next day was spent getting our paperwork in order, clearing Malaysia/ Thai customs and riding up to Surat Thani on the Thai east coast.
    Weather was good, with no signs of the heavy rains and devastating flash floods that plagued South Thailand just a week ago. It was a long slog up north, our speeds rarely above 110km/h. The road was busy with lorries and speeding overloaded trucks. What was not shown in the videos was what seemed to be a fatal hit and run accident between a local on a scooter and a truck just seconds ahead of us. This contributed to our decision to leave the highway to take the slower inner roads.
    About 50km from Surat Thani, the Triumph’s engine warning light lit up, further necessitating us to reduce our speed as a precaution. Fortunately, the bike felt fine and had no weird noises or vibrations so we carried on without too much worry.
    We finally rolled into Surat Thani and did what we always do at such places, look for the night market for some eats.

    I like that you filmed the souvenir shop in Sadao! Good to know there's a nice sticker I can put on my bike as a souvenir for this trip! Looks like a good trip guys, thanks for sharing!

    I wondering what kind of bike is suitable to ride long distances. My motorbike is RC200. Is it possible to go for this kind of trip like yours?

    • @PianxSya
      @PianxSya  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think as long as its well maintained, ride at a decent speed, and you don't strain the engine, it should be fine. The RC200 is a decent bike by KTM and im sure it can do distances without problems!

    Did you manage to solve the clutch issue on the triumph? if yes how?

    • @PianxSya
      @PianxSya  ปีที่แล้ว

      yup. we went to a Triumph workshop in Bangkok and had it looked at. Took 15 mins to find out the issue (overtightened nut, probably expanded due to the heat) and it was free as warranty covered all the way to Thailand.
