Shawn and Charlotte, This is one of the great things I like about your visits and reviews. It doesn't have to be an enormous complex place for people to have a fun time with their families. There is a sweetness to this park , as well as touch of nostalgia. While writing my comments and reading others, I just learned about the tragedy, so sad, and this demented person should not make this lovely area a scapegoat. I really appreciate seeing this bright and fun side of southport that reminds me of my childhood, bringing a sense of positivity to the area amidst the terror will undoubtedly bring comfort to the residents as well as people nearby like myself. the crime that took place was devastating but we cannot let it forever tarnish a place that people call home. instead of commenting accusations, why not share your own tribute in the comments or even share your memories to bring comfort to those struggling to feel safe in their town? Southport will always be one of my favourite places to go, it was a family tradition to jump on the bus or train and see the fair and play in the arcades. Some people are expecting far too much from a theme park channel on TH-cam. Stop getting offended on behalf of grieving families who have bigger things to think about right now. The one drop flume and pirate ship just came from Adventure Wonderland in Bournemouth as they got rid of their rides now. I operated that boat for years 😅
Thoughts go to the families of the 3 girls. And thoughts go to all of the people that were affected by the mindless violence. But this vlog brings back some positivity to southport after what has been quite an awful, horrifying and violent week. The people of southport deserve some positivity back. My partner who works at Pleasureland sent me this. Glad you have acknowledged and appreciate all the hard work and even little changes that have been made over the past few years, and after what's happened this week is a very welcome positive video. Edit: After going through the comments I am severely annoyed. If you are not local, you have no right to an opinion of what Businesses should do, or that the video should be removed. The fact they were provided wristbands means the Owner was looking for something positive for our community. Don't get offended on other people's behalf and do some research instead of believing misinformation!

It’s obvious that the park is suffering given that there was barely anyone there and it’s the summer holidays. This publicity will be nothing but good for them. I completely agree too. Yes, it's been a massive tragedy for Southport, and I feel awful for the families and friends of those innocent little girls that lost their lives that this has affected. But life has to go on. Southport has already been struggling a little tourism wise with the closure of the pier for so long. Since Norman Wallis took over what little remained of Pleasureland after Blackpool Pleasure Beach decided to smash historic rides into bits, he's been nothing but an amazing ambassador for Southport and bust his nuts to try to put the place firmly back on the tourism map. He does a huge amount for the local community too. So I feel there is absolutely nothing wrong with showing the place in a positive light. People still have mouths to feed & bills to pay. Not visiting just causes financial hardship for a community that is already suffering through their losses. Southport is open for business.

Some insane people in these comments who think that the way to pay your respects to the victims of the tragedy in Southport is to punish local businesses by keeping away. Life goes on, it's great that Charlotte and Shawn have chosen to remind people of one of the places that makes Southport so great. The last thing Southport needs right now is a drop in tourism, they've had enough bad luck recently.

I'm glad to see this is building back again I remember the old one and it was a brilliant park. Sean can you try and get some official news about the new rollercoaster and any other new rides that they are doing or planning.
My grandparents and brother both lived in Southport, many lovely memories, We should all look to the positive, we cant make the word "Southport" be changed forever by one man's evil act. Some may say to soon, but in the name of the lost innocence. we should give our support to every man, woman and child of Southport. Don't just watch this vlog, we will support them by visiting, shopping and eating fish and chips making sure the evil wont win.
Its good to see where the park has come from since it was taken over by the current owners. They must have secured a longer lease since they are making everything look more permanent. I just hope the rumoured coaster comes in the next year or two as its still putting me off visiting. I wish they had bought knightmare rather than debating over it for several years while it rotted away.
Also in the 1980s the park had a caterpillar ride in a cover/awning goes over the cars, and there was a dark ride called Journey into Space which had spinning cars on

southport has come a long way recently and I love the park as a whole just with that they had more operational coasters but overall southport pleasure land has done a great job with their recent additions and I can't wait to see what they do in the future especially seeing as they have quite a bit of room to expand the park an obviously know what they want the park to be.

If I was in charge, here’s what I would do: - Give the dark ride that’s located in the Viking area some much-needed touchups - Add in a Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster (STC), which would pay homage to the former Traumatizer coaster - Add in a Gravity Group Wooden Coaster, which would pay homage to their former Cyclone coaster - Invest in some new special events - Add in a few permanent flat rides (family/thrill) - Improve the overall theming in some of the areas - Open the long rumored Zamperla Thunderbolt roller coaster - Replace the Red coaster with a Gerstlauer Bobsled coaster, similar to Tiki Waka at Walibi Belgium - Improve the food offerings at some of the park restaurants - Add in another dark ride, maybe a trackless or an interactive shooting one

I felt a bit emotional watching this, because remembering going with my children when they were little, and I was their a lot with my parents, and plus the tragedy last week, great vlog, but your right it needs a permanent coaster, it left a big hole when the dipper was demolished
I used to work at the park about 10 years ago, I moved away from the area so i haven't been back but it looks like it's grown so much! I loved working there so it's great to see it thriving. Also big respect to the park for the tributes they've had paid for those poor girls 💓💓💓
Be really good if they went to the place you have just been to in Rome and made an offer to bring the Looping Star ride back. I remember it as a kid being out where the Adventure Golf is today
@@mrquavers just looked it up, I was Zamperla and they even asked for one, but that project was cancelled back in 2021. Gerstlaur have since come in with there own (yet similar layout) in march. Still doubt it'll actually get built though

You can simultaneously be upset about the tragic events in the area and want to help out local businesses, particularly those that bring joy to young and old like theme parks. The two things arent mutually exclusive.
I personally feel it incredibly distasteful, insensitive and disrespectful to be posting videos using the name of the place in the title to exploit the algorithm, knowing that Southport is still in the news. The community is still grieving and there's riots happening across the country. The park is literally deserted, nobody local wants to go to a place like that considering it hasn't even been a week since the attacks. They MUST have expected backlash towards this.

I’ve said for years that the only thing the park is missing is a major family thrill coaster something similar to thirteen at Alton towers but without the drop section would be perfect for the park
Last time I was at Southport was as a kid when tizer was there, that wooden coaster in the back corner and the fun house with tye spinning table thing in it!

(27:06) Looking at the Ghostly Galleon makes me feel upset. It used to be found at Adventure Wonderland Bournemouth (my local theme park), but because of the "surge in costs", the park had to remove all outdoor rides including the Ghostly Galleon, my all time number 1 favourite pirate ship that's now gone far away from Bournemouth and the one I'd never see again.

I'm reading the comments what some people are saying, well shawn and chsrlotte going to southport is supporting the town, the park was open so all you with negative comments, are you going to critisize everyone who goes, it needs the support, not ignored, stop being so cynical about the vlog
It's a good park for sure - used to visit when I was child in 70's - 80's, my only issue with S/Port & B/Pool as noted in doing away with Non rider pass thus restricting park audience down to only those willing to go on rides and to spend the full price. A Non rider pass (eg £5 - £10) will be good for families to take example Grandma, Grandad who don't want to do rides but want to see their children & Grand children on rides and to grab a bite & drink to eat - thus adding $$ sales to the park. Maybe do a Lite ride pass (£10 - £20) to allow riders to do up to 6 rides - especially like me who can only do tame rides - due to back & heart / BP issues
Remember about 30 years ago going to tivolee ( not sure how it’s spelt)world in Spain; but that had actors in and I screamed in ones face as the kids I had with me were petrified lol, they chased me, last scene was a man with a chain saw, what made it worse is it was in the 90s and another country so you did not feel safe. Was new tech back then
Theming is spot on, good selection of static rides; agree just need few more Rollercoasters ( x2) - maybe a cheeky Mouse Trap ride and Ghost train improved lot - good actor but need few more animation props and Klaxton going off.
Hi shawn and Charlotte , I used to go here when I was a kid alot.. back when the traumatizer was their I think that's the infusion in Blackpool now? They used to have a brilliant circus show on think it was called the mambos was epic 😊 also remember going on the black hole was a dark ride and you had to stomp on the peddle for it to spin my auntie was wearing 👠 my foot was on the pedal and she stomped on it really hard was in agony all day 😂 such fun memories at southport!!, ... love you guys I watch every one of your vlogs that's my happy place 😊

I wonder why they did not go for a Booster MaxXx and then the 75 meter version as well cause then you could market it as the tallest looping ride in the U.K., which should draw in Guests. But that is just me asking that question. And also, it takes 20 people per cycle, instead of 8.

Really racking my brain trying to come up with who could've manufactured Enigma, usually these outwards facing frisbee rides of this size are made by SBF, Technical Park, Zamperla and the like but I can't recognize the restraints nor the style of construction on this one at all.
Back in 2021 me and my family went to Southport. I was told we were going to Pleasureland. That was a lie. I spent all day trying to find the sea at the beach.
As a former ride operator it is always wild and terrifying to see some parks neglect ride operators safety and wellness while working and lookout for ride cycle. Ride what I am talking about? Its the wave swinger. 😕 GREAT Video still and good that Charlotte came to so many wild rides also 😍😍

Edit: After going through the comments I am severely annoyed. If you are not local, you have no right to an opinion of what Businesses should do, or that the video should be removed. The fact they were provided wristbands means the Owner was looking for something positive for our community. Don't get offended on other people's behalf and do some research instead of believing misinformation!

It’s obvious that the park is suffering given that there was barely anyone there and it’s the summer holidays. This publicity will be nothing but good for them. I completely agree too. Yes, it's been a massive tragedy for Southport, and I feel awful for the families and friends of those innocent little girls that lost their lives that this has affected. But life has to go on.
Southport has already been struggling a little tourism wise with the closure of the pier for so long. Since Norman Wallis took over what little remained of Pleasureland after Blackpool Pleasure Beach decided to smash historic rides into bits, he's been nothing but an amazing ambassador for Southport and bust his nuts to try to put the place firmly back on the tourism map. He does a huge amount for the local community too.
So I feel there is absolutely nothing wrong with showing the place in a positive light. People still have mouths to feed & bills to pay. Not visiting just causes financial hardship for a community that is already suffering through their losses. Southport is open for business.

Its good to see where the park has come from since it was taken over by the current owners. They must have secured a longer lease since they are making everything look more permanent. I just hope the rumoured coaster comes in the next year or two as its still putting me off visiting. I wish they had bought knightmare rather than debating over it for several years while it rotted away.

Also in the 1980s the park had a caterpillar ride in a cover/awning goes over the cars, and there was a dark ride called Journey into Space which had spinning cars on

southport has come a long way recently and I love the park as a whole just with that they had more operational coasters but overall southport pleasure land has done a great job with their recent additions and I can't wait to see what they do in the future especially seeing as they have quite a bit of room to expand the park an obviously know what they want the park to be.

In my opinion, I think that Southport is an underrated park and has tons of potential to add some new investment. If I was in charge, here’s what I would do:
- Give the dark ride that’s located in the Viking area some much-needed touchups
- Add in a Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster (STC), which would pay homage to the former Traumatizer coaster
- Add in a Gravity Group Wooden Coaster, which would pay homage to their former Cyclone coaster
- Invest in some new special events
- Add in a few permanent flat rides (family/thrill)
- Improve the overall theming in some of the areas
- Open the long rumored Zamperla Thunderbolt roller coaster
- Replace the Red coaster with a Gerstlauer Bobsled coaster, similar to Tiki Waka at Walibi Belgium
- Improve the food offerings at some of the park restaurants
- Add in another dark ride, maybe a trackless or an interactive shooting one
Our thoughts are with everyone during this difficult time ❤️ The park are making some great decisions moving forwards!

I felt a bit emotional watching this, because remembering going with my children when they were little, and I was their a lot with my parents, and plus the tragedy last week, great vlog, but your right it needs a permanent coaster, it left a big hole when the dipper was demolished

I used to work at the park about 10 years ago, I moved away from the area so i haven't been back but it looks like it's grown so much! I loved working there so it's great to see it thriving.

You can simultaneously be upset about the tragic events in the area and want to help out local businesses, particularly those that bring joy to young and old like theme parks. The two things arent mutually exclusive.
I personally feel it incredibly distasteful, insensitive and disrespectful to be posting videos using the name of the place in the title to exploit the algorithm, knowing that Southport is still in the news. The community is still grieving and there's riots happening across the country.
The park is literally deserted, nobody local wants to go to a place like that considering it hasn't even been a week since the attacks. They MUST have expected backlash towards this.

The boat on the fun house used to be on the old river caves which was in the park in the 1980s
The transformers ride is a calipso ride, I'm sure that actual ride was at pleasurewood hills in the 1980s so it's doing well really!

Looking at the Ghostly Galleon makes me feel upset. It used to be found at Adventure Wonderland Bournemouth (my local theme park), but because of the "surge in costs", the park had to remove all outdoor rides including the Ghostly Galleon, my all time number 1 favourite pirate ship that's now gone far away from Bournemouth and the one I'd never see again.

It's a good park for sure - used to visit when I was child in 70's - 80's, my only issue with S/Port & B/Pool as noted in doing away with Non rider pass thus restricting park audience down to only those willing to go on rides and to spend the full price. A Non rider pass (eg £5 - £10) will be good for families to take example Grandma, Grandad who don't want to do rides but want to see their children & Grand children on rides and to grab a bite & drink to eat - thus adding $$ sales to the park. Maybe do a Lite ride pass (£10 - £20) to allow riders to do up to 6 rides - especially like me who can only do tame rides - due to back & heart / BP issues

Theming is spot on, good selection of static rides; agree just need few more Rollercoasters ( x2) - maybe a cheeky Mouse Trap ride and Ghost train improved lot - good actor but need few more animation props and Klaxton going off.

Hi shawn and Charlotte , I used to go here when I was a kid alot.. back when the traumatizer was their I think that's the infusion in Blackpool now? They used to have a brilliant circus show on think it was called the mambos was epic 😊 also remember going on the black hole was a dark ride and you had to stomp on the peddle for it to spin my auntie was wearing 👠 my foot was on the pedal and she stomped on it really hard was in agony all day 😂 such fun memories at southport!!, ... love you guys I watch every one of your vlogs that's my happy place 😊

Really racking my brain trying to come up with who could've manufactured Enigma, usually these outwards facing frisbee rides of this size are made by SBF, Technical Park, Zamperla and the like but I can't recognize the restraints nor the style of construction on this one at all.
I plan to go to European theme parks in the future

Back in 2021 me and my family went to Southport. I was told we were going to Pleasureland. That was a lie. I spent all day trying to find the sea at the beach.
