good evening, many thanks for your comments and also watching, and yes it’s quite upsetting to be fair and as you rightly said is happening all over in each and every town, not just Blackpool or surrounding areas but every town. Hopefully things do get better in the future for the future future generations sakes all the best and take care, Paul.

good evening and many thanks for your comment and also watching, I hope you have enjoyed your time so far in Blackpool in the last three years? And yes, I agree is on the op especially around the town centre many projects and plans have been put in place, some sadly been put back, due to contractors amongst other things, but as you say, things are on the up.
Something certainly needs to be done around the south side of Blackpool as there’s many hotels which sadly don’t attract customers as we had in the 1970s and 80s. As I mentioned other people mentioned possibly some these wonderful buildings into luxury apartments maybe? That certainly would bring the area up if that makes sense. Again many thanks to you and yes I totally agree with what you have said. All the best and take care Paul.

Very interesting video Paul. I can’t believe the amount of sand that has been blown over after the storms. Shame about all the empty hotels, but the only answer I can think of is to turn them into permanent accommodation because we just don’t seem to get the visitor numbers that stay more than a day. Hopefully the big hotel will get built at the previous St Chads site, but we will have to wait and see.

hi Stephen many thanks for your comments and watching, firstly I’d like to say fantastic Livestream again on your Starman channel! Always interesting and great company and people join. In regards to this video yes I totally agree. I would say convert them into residential flats to be fair, they would become luxury flats overlooking the sea, there is no point in rejecting plans I guess because the hotel will never be used to be fair the long period of time before they go bankrupt as I said and yourself and so many people they don’t get the numbers anymore as it’s cheaper to go Abroad on holiday. Things will change in the near future all the best and take care.

good afternoon Sue and many thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on this video. Always much appreciated thank you. Yes, it’s very sad how some of these wonderful hotels pubs and buildings having sadly abandoned and some in disrepair. As I mentioned are not too sure what the solution is or where we go from here but it happens in all towns and cities so people can’t call just Blackpool, I have travelled to many towns and cities like I mentioned and it’s all over . I guess with cheap package holidays is killed a lot of trade and things have gone up considerably over the years. What’s the answer?? Possibly convert these wonderful buildings into residential flats which would make fantastic apartments looking over the sea you’re keeping as I said many thanks for taking time to watch and comment on this video all the very best soon and take care Paul.

Been fined for bad fire regs, alarms don't work , Hope it's closed down for good ,needs demolishing ,honestly , I moved next door ! for the other two nights , did not even ask for a partial refund was just glad to be out moved to the new Brooklyn what a difference ,would highly recommend this one!

Evening Paul evening everyone, such a shame about the old Yates building, looks like it's dieing south shore, something needs doing fast, reckon the pleasure beach has had a lot to do with it with charging £50 entrance fee, people have stopped going that far down. Think the only way forward is for privately owned seafront apartments now for them buildings. Great but sad video, cheers mate.

    • @TheBlackpoolLads
      @TheBlackpoolLads  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

good evening Stephen many thanks for your comments and watching, and yes a couple of good points. Firstly as you mentioned with the pleasure beach when I was walking down this area it’s dead no one really around. I guess that has killed a lot of trade-off in this area and as you mentioned if hotels don’t really work nowadays as they seem to be building more new ones and people staying in Those so maybe private flats luxury apartments will certainly improve the area and at least the buildings will be used. Hope you’re keeping well. All the best and take care, Paul.

Such a shame to see all these hotels and pubs shut down. Spent many happy times in Blackpool over the years. Coming from Glasgow we had our annual pilgrimage year after year.
You’re spot on when you say it’s not only Blackpool.
Our seaside towns up here in Scotland are suffering badly too.
I hope and pray 🙏 that our towns can get back to something like we used to know and love. Take care my friend and keep up the good work.

good evening Ian and many thanks for taking the to comment and also watch this video much appreciated thank you. As you said so many towns villages and cities have ended up like Blackpool what used to be wonderful places thriving with businesses and life and somewhat derelict and in disrepair. I’m with you on that one you just hope and pray something happens possibly turn full circle or something to make our villages towns and cities as I mentioned, what they was . If I had a book of answers, it will be great, but unfortunately there’s so many factors that play. If that makes sense? Again all the best take care and by the way Scotland is a wonderful place fantastic views and great scenery. I’ve visited there a few Times certainly a nice place to be from .

It’s such a shame when you think Blackpool is such a wonderful town but it’s not just here. It’s all over the UK where things like this have happened the question is what’s the answer? I don’t like showing videos like this but it’s nice just to bring people, other sides of Blackpool rather than the promenade .. hi June many thanks for your comment and watching and yes I think you’ve hit the nail on the head to be fair. Many people choose to go abroad these days as it’s cheaper to go and also the weather in the winter time you have that lovely sun, my personal opinion would be to transform a lot of these hotels which will never become hotels again into lovely apartments or flats that certainly would raise the area and stop these wonderful buildings going into disrepair. Certainly one solution. As you said Blackpool has much potential and they are trying in areas he guess it’s all down to money. . I've stayed at Garvey's on the front and it was reasonably nice. But normally I stay at chaplains behind coral island. I think that these hoteliers need to keep the prices down to get people to book the rooms. They still have to pay council tax, water rates etc even if there's no one staying there, so for me, it's better to charge less money and have a full hotel. My daughter stayed on Alexandra Road when the big storm was on and she said that the b&b was lovely 😊😊😊

As my wife and myself are getting on a bit now we tend to have short breaks at home these days, a couple of years ago we stayed in a well known Blackpool hotel for three nights at new year, as we were booking in the young receptionist was horrified that we had paid over £1000 for three nights in Blackpool in mid winter she said you could have had a week in Tenerife for that and guaranteed sunshine I explained we had done all that for years, but there is your answer really, its cheaper to go abroad and guaranteed sunshine.

good evening Ronnie and many thanks for sharing your story with everybody and watching the video much appreciated thank you. As you said, it’s Cheaper to go abroad nowadays than it is to travel around the UK, what’s gonna become of these huge fantastic hotels? I guess it’s another story. There’s no point in submitting plans and getting turned down to be converted into flats because the hotels will never survive this and things certainly need to change one way or another. Again, many thanks for sharing your story is always appreciated. All the very best and take care of yourselves Paul.

Hi Paul, i came to BLACKPOOL in 1945 and remember when it was so busy down south shore you had to walk on the road, i also sold shoes from the back of a van, where the velvet coaster is and also at the side of Pablos at a later date, i can remember selling by auction at 1am in the morning and people were fighting to buy them at that time ,I'd like to think those times could come back. The royal carlton look like it was beachfront with all the sand!.! Its a crying shame, Blackpool is a special place for sooo many people but it seems a vicious cycle, less people come the rougher it becomes. Yours and unfortunately every local council seem to need to pull their finger out therir backside n renovate some of the hotels to flats and encourage hoteliers to do some up with grants or low rates, maybe the pleasure beach doing really cheap weekends and other offers in the region may bring people back. Ive stayed in some basic hotels there, but i went to palm beach on Alexandra rd, it was 24 quid a night, warm and immaculate. A little gem of a place, just wish i had a seaview, n its crazy seeing all those vacant prime view places dead. Not to get too political but i wonder if people worry if hotels are regenerated they will be used to provide people with asylum seekers/homeless rooms and not tourists. Regardless theres nothing better than the sea to recharge ypur batteries and ground you. Thanks again Blackpool

good evening and many thanks for your comments and also watching and yes as you write this said some of these hotels rather than Lane dormant and derelict could be turned into some really nice permanent residential properties with fantastic views overlooking the sea. Unfortunately the pleasure beats charges per entry rather than per ride which seems to be a huge output to a lot of families and people visiting the south side of Blackpool. again many thanks for sharing your comments and information. Anything of any historical merit has been demolished to make the English people forget their roots - it's done by design
The closure of all seaside resorts was done to stop the interaction between English people and stop the chattering classes from speaking truths - sending folks to Spain on cheap subsidised aeroplanes just helped the destruction along
Total shame cos as a kid I got taken to Blackpool twice a year and the illuminations was the highlight of the year
