Im not much of a twice fan, sorry guys lol, but R.I.P - Johnny
I feel like the previous season was an attempt to bring the audience closer to the villains prior to this. that's rather obvious, what I'm getting to is that I feel that they just slightly missed the mark in season 5 and it might have some repercussions on your ability to relate to the character.. I personally feel this way for Toga, in that she just ignores me. I get her premise, but like Demon Slayer villains, 5 minutes on screen backstory of the villains prior to the deaths ain't enough to hook me. Show how they go through their day to day lives in multiple episodes, put me in their shoes, immerse your viewer into the character's struggles.. Then I'll shed a tear. We did have glimpses on this with Twice. So today's ep did hurt a bit.

What makes Twice's character arc a tragedy is the fact he didn't intend to be a villain. He joined the League because he was alone. He was treated bad by society. He lost his job because he got into an accident with a wealthy client that was a mistake. He used his quirk to create copies that would ease his loneliness but that ended up messing up his mental health. Society's over reliance on heroes resulted in no help for characters like Twice and Toga hence why they joined the League. And now he leaked information (that got the people he cared about in trouble) to a hero he forced himself to trust in order to gain more companionship
For toga in manga jin was like a real brother for her! She still so sad and painless in all this season she now doesn't like any hero anymore. 😬😢

What makes twice death more tragic is the fact his final moments aren't really with toga since the main body doesn't remember anything from the doubles so only the double got to hug toga not him
Twice actually got his debut way back in season 3 ep 5, where he’s depicted as a very philosophical and empathetic guy with clear signs of metal health issues, really good episode, but for anime only it’s more difficult to remember so I forgive u ❤️

He was one of the main villains and this is his episode which he was only in for 60% of it💀 like and if you don’t remember one of the most important backstories in this anime then y’all clearly are not paying attention dawg especially when his backstory is key to the themes in the show my god
Dragging his death? In my opinion it was a perfect sendoff. Twice got to act like a hero this last time and remind us of his drive and willpower. And it was done so well
Chris was probably not very interested in his death either honestly, im guessing thats why he made that comment. Im sorry but just making a characters back story tragic is not enough to hit for me these days. It seems like a competition to just throw the most shit at a characters past and it feels way too forced and forgettable for me sometimes in anime especially. And I understand the show is about the whole " we live in a society " ideology, but it just has to immerse me enough with the writing, acting, relatability , and realism for me to care. Personally Twices character specifically did not do that for me. No shade just how I feel. Theres just way too many characters for them to give proper time to certain ones I think.

@@CruzBrothersReact I don’t care for y’all not getting emotional. But saying his death was dragged and not remembering the most important moments in MVA is crazy. Nor was his backstory this TRAGEDY. Nor was it forced. It was simply a guy a good who’s all alone who hit the wall with bad luck whom MANY can relate. Depressed because of it and can’t fit in MANY who can also relate to that. Therefore to escape solitude he joined a group of bad ppl because it is better than being alone. MANY who also can relate to that. I don’t know where you got the idea shonen anime is just commonly going in depth with subjects like depression & solitude but they’re not. I get it maybe the soundtrack didn’t do it for you or maybe it was too quick not dragged
I mean listen we say certain things we dont mean sometimes cause were trying to provide commentary in the moment to show how we feel about a scene. Hindsight is 20/20 and the comment section is literally for everyone to judge with that hindsight, as were reacting to things in the moment, not providing a review lol. So try to go easy on us and take every comment with a grain of salt. As for Twice im sure his story made a lot of people feel something for him, but It just didn't for me. After recording I actually did look back to get refreshed on his back story, and it was just ehh idk man. Again im not knocking anyone for getting invested in him, obviously its a subject that correlates with real life. Like you said I think it was just not enough time, or maybe the music in the scene, the voice acting, something was off for my taste specifically
