I’ve been living in my car for awhile and struggling with addiction for a long time and just can’t seem to make ends meet, I still drag my guitar with me through hell no matter what in the hopes that one day I will make it out and finally live my dreams of becoming an artist and getting my music out there. This was so motivating for me. Been following Hi Rez for years and it just reminds me why I look up to these artist that have battled their own demons and got their feet on the ground. I grew up a bad kid. Youngest of 3 boys in a concrete jungle. On drugs by 13. Not bud.... I mean DRUGS. Kinda always felt like I was destined for death and never worried about that. It's who I was. When my first son was born, that first time I held him in my arms, I found the savior our Lord Jesus Christ in his eyes. I never before found a purpose for my life until that moment. That tiny 7 lb 9 oz baby single handedly broke my chains for me. It was in him that I found me. I knew then my life had to change. I started going to church again and prayed for the strength to leave that life behind, and he heard me and responded in kind. I quit drugs, stopped interacting with those who influenced me, married his mother and our marriage is 21 years strong. And about 5 years ago we added to the family unit with another baby boy. I think Jesus saw my oldest reaching adulthood and sent me another reason to be the man I've become.

You know those songs you come across from time to time that give you goosebumps bc you relate to it and it describes your life to a T. This is one of them. I was stuck on them pills for 12 years. Got 6.5 years clean. Every single lyric describes either how I felt or how I thought at one point while in active addiction. Hopefully this song finds the right people and gives them inspiration to change their life for the better. The grass is so much greener on this side I promise
