If you're going to San Francisco.... we went there in summer 2008 (when we were 14) and shot the music video for this awesome song by the Mama's and the Papa's. Later we recorded it at our studio back home in Austria.
We combined it with two other songs and released it as an EP called "California Dreaming".

Prior to his passing, I was in communication with Scott McKenzie and I had sent him the link to the video. I asked him if he was familiar with it and he said he was, and he thought they had done a great job. I wonder if the twins themselves had ever been in contact with McKenzie, but if not, I can assure the twins he heard it, and he liked it.
@kenadler4255 You have the right sense of how music and musicians ought to be treated! You didn't have to do those things, but perhaps you're part of whatever's going on quietly in the background to help things come out right.
Watching your videos is such good medicine for me and my wife. We are products of Woodstock generation and to see these timeless classics rebooted by such caring, talented and beautiful young ladies makes our hearts sing every time...Thank-you...!!
I have been coming back to this video for well over a decade over the multiple different TH-cam accounts I have had. I listened to this when I was ten years old for the first time and now I am 23, this cover has been with me through so many life experiences and I will never forget how beautiful it is. I still cant tire of this beautiful song.

as one who has lived this song most of her life i never get tired of hearing it. the hip movement lasted much longer than the summer of love. many of us died trying to get to san franscisco. sometimes i wish i had! i lived on the other side of the continent and the hip movement was still strong there. long after the hip generation faded many of us remembered. i sang this song at livingston manor trying to adjust to the science of creative intelligence. which was anything but intelligent. i went three times to that place and had to leave early each time. later when 7000 people from all over the world gathered in the tm domes in fairfield i was there with the same song in my heart. i held that love in my heart when i raised my family and struggled to make a living. and in the evening of my life i still hold hope in my heart for the new explanation. most of my hip friends are long gone, many have died. but when i see children of children singing this and placing flowers in their hair i know that hope will never be lost.

You can't improve over Scott McKenzie especially with two non chalonts like these two.
I've been putting off listening to these very early recordings because I know the twins were young and their voices were still maturing. But this was just seriously good. I don't care if they were 14 or 34, that was just a fine cover.

Great video. You captured the spirit very well for 14 years old girls. And you have blossomed into two beautiful voices that became magical and poetic. Golden voices--the Twins have grown up considerably since this video. Their evolution is incredible--everything they do is great! Best music I have heard in this generation. Keep it up ladies. This version of the Scott McKenzie hit could have been released as a single.

The song is nostalgic, and these girls are so mystic.
The first time I heard San Francisco I was eight years old driving with my mother in Jamaica at nearly midnight. I asked her where is San Francisco? That was a long time ago and marked what would be the beginning of my California dream. Since then, I cannot count how many times I have listened to this song. Your rendition not only brought back memories of that childhood moment it also brought tears to my eyes. Your vocalizing and harmonizing is unique and absolutely beautiful and I think both John Phillips and Scott McKenzie would have been delighted!

Bless your hearts for doing this. I've found it only now, 15 years after you made the EP -- but this isn't a song that would be forgotten in 15 years to begin with. Yet the longer it went well-known but not well-covered, the more courage must have been needed to cover it. What you've made here is quite above the customary (and enjoyable) "songbook" or "tribute" performance that relies on our shared affection for the original; you could have got away with making that kind, it would be pretty enough. But you've given it a bold, clear sound that fills the present and will carry into the future. I almost feel it offering to heal the effects of our earlier acoustic malnourishment, when we had only that one mix.
One of my favorites. I was a sophomore in HS in 68. You two girls just keep my memories alive, keep it up. YOu two are a great talent, so glad I found you on youtube.
