Its not that impressive 1/4 mile, the old m3 f80 has 12 sec 1/4mile with rwd and 50hp more
@@qwertyqwerty-zi6dr my 18 coyote A10 ran 11.82 @ 118.6 mph stone factory stock so I’m with you not impressed with RS3 1/4 mile time . 1/8 mile it’s a beast but I could mow it down on the back half with a NA car that’s 35% less expensive. That car should be 11.50 122 mph car for that money
Saloon looks sensational in that green. Bit loud for everyday use, but stunning launch car.

In the US, I would imagine that markups will destroy my chances of owning one of these.
The markups are everywhere. On December 1st they are increasing the price in the U.K. as well.
The saloon,coupe is in my opinion the nicest version.... Abs love it

Great video as always, mate! Sad that they’re taking so many features off the specs. Over here in the US we’re just waiting on any bit of news for a release date. Probably summer 2022 sadly, which then means we likely wouldn’t get hands on our cars until 2023.

Let's hope it is sooner. In the US and we have put down a deposit so that we can order when that opens up. Would nice to have at least by summer of 22.

I think everyone that has ordered a Vorsprung should contact Audi UK and tell them that they want the car they ordered. All I want is my car delivered within six months of ordering with all the technology that was advertised. Great video as always let me know if you can think of a way of taking any ideas to Audi.
I totally agree with you but all we can do is all complain about this to head office.
I havent ordered it yet based on the fact they pulled the rs design pack, but now 360 degree camera too? That's ridiculous. I am very happy to also jump on the complaint bandwagon, and if you raise a petition and send it out to all the youtubers hopefully audi will take notice
I agree, It would be a good idea to do this.
Impossible to source the parts right now. Either get the car in six months, or wait a year for when the supply chain (hopefully) gets back in order and they will offer the options again (probably for 2023 models)
regrettably I have cancelled my RS3 Vorsprung due the 360 degree camera option not available. 🥵

Difficult one on the Audi dealership asking £10k over list, surely they may as well flip it as sell it to someone else who will just flip it? I know it's not right when genuine orders are not being fulfilled, I guess the correct thing to do would be to offer it to their (hopefully genuine) waiting list first ? good video by the way :) (PS: I'm the week 16 Vorsprung order)

you make a lot of sense in respect to what the options the UK cars are missing compared to Europe. Do you have any commutation channels open to Audi UK to covey your annoyance. Your annoyance is reflected by most UK costumers,
I will convey my displeasure should I have the chance face-to-face but I think it is worth thinking that telling the press dept that I am not happy as a customer is not likely to result in any changes. I think the only way is to email Audi Head office. Which I will be doing about the 360 camera as well.

Sorry to break it for ya but most car manufacturers aren't even bothered to make fully specced cars with steering on right side because huge majority of the world has steering on the left and any smart manufacturer knows how disgusting it is to have steering wheel on the right...You get some option models out of pity but best ones are reserved for normal world.
No offence, it is what it is. It's so mind-blowing that UK and Japan chose to be so different from rest of the world and have car controls on the right side of the car. Uk's ex colonies were implemented so didn't mention them... Like, how on earth can you choose something so weird, so wrong, what were they thinking when creating such an abominable thing...

What product is used to get that shine on the Daytona grey rs3?
I doubt it is anything special as it is a main dealer car. It is probably scratches reflecting based on how they clean cars 😜
Can’t believe I’m even asking this, but will the Vorsprung at least still definitely come with a reversing camera ? I ask because normally, in the configurator for the Vorsprung the 360 camera is listed where the reversing camera would otherwise be… Mental to have to check this on a £65k car, but with the way Audi UK have been going lately, nothing seems off limits any more so just thought I’d double check 😂
Audi U.K. have said they are replacing it with the reversing camera but who knows by the time they actually get built!

Quick update for anyone who has ordered a vorsprung. As it stands the only change to the spec is the 360 camera (it will just be a reversing camera) but everything else will remain the same wireless charging etc. But it could end up going back and having the 360 camera should supply status on chips etc change
There is no wireless charging on the spec or phone box unfortunately!
@@TechInTheCar I’ve just got off the phone with my dealership who confirmed the only change was the 360 camera. I have however put in a complaint to Audi uk about all potential changes
The wireless charging has never been on the Vorsprung trim. It isn’t on the configurator.

I’ve got one on ordered but there’s no mention of the 360 camera been removed, how do you know this has been removed? I know the phone box has been removed
Audi U.K. have removed the 360 camera from all Vorsprung models. I had a call from my dealer about this on Thursday. It is confirmed in the U.K. If you are in the U.K. then you may want to reach out to the dealer (not that it makes any difference as they can’t do anything) and if your not in the U.K. then you will still be getting it.

I’ve just ordered an rs3 and I’ve gone for the carbon black model. The dealer couldn’t order anymore vorsprung as they had met their quota. I’ve two weeks to make any changes and I’m wondering if I should add the sound and comfort pack for the speakers. I listen to a lot of rock and metal music but I’m unsure if it’s worth the price. Does anybody currently have a car with those speakers?
You should absolutely add the C&S pack. You will be listening to music while driving and so it’s a worthwhile option.

Yeah, I've just ordered a daytona saloon carbon and I ticked the C&S. I specced it on my 8v s3 and it is brilliant, a must have for me.

For me Sedan. But it’s personal preference.
I can only imagine the reason the RS3 come so differently spec around the world is either shortage of parts or just trying to get them out to customers quicker. We so lucky in Australia that our RS models have always come highly spec’d and we haven’t been able to get base models RS so we get pretty much everything thrown on it with only a handful of options like the carbon pack, rs design pack, sunroof and choice between the 2 black wheels, that’s pretty much it and everything else comes standard. I would think stuff like 360 degree camera could be fitted for you guys latter on as there will surely be forums out there with people doing it but the rs design pack not available sucks for you. Maybe if you held off your order until next batch is available in the UK then it might be an option Audi give you
I agree about retrofitting the 360 camera but it will not be a cheap option as you would have to get the other 3 cameras (front and both mirrors) fitted and wired and then reprogram the MMI system. If anything I think changing the wheel and adding the design pack flourishes will be easier and cheaper (excluding changing the seats and seat belts of course).
@@TechInTheCar it won’t be cheap initially but after a little while as these things get around and get written off you would be able to source cameras, wiring etc a bit cheaper then find someone that is able to program them but in saying that there is some very good products out there people can purchase which unlock many features in modern cars. It’s one of those things that people will work on and pass info around.
Also would need new mirror caps as they have the camera; fortunately the front grille has a space for the camera already. I agree with time this will be doable.
different spec for different countries has always been the nrm in the industry, whats the confusion?
I currently have the Merc A45s plus, fully spec’d and recently ordered the new RS3 vorsprung. May now cancel the order with all these options / equipment no longer being provided.
I also own the A45s plus and was considering getting an RS3,but I'd want it with colour matched interior trim,such as on the seats,dash and steering wheel.But it would seem this is not available,and neither are many other bits,which I have in the Merc,so it would feel like a step backwards in many respects.And at the price Audi want (we paid £51k for the full spec A45s),I don't think it is worth paying the extra for.Shame as I quite like the look of the outside,especially the green saloon.
I agree the inside is a disappointment but the car itself isn't based on reviews so far and so I wouldn't be changing my order personally!
Got a decent discount on my A45s plus too. Think I might wait until the new RS3 hype dies down when some discounts / deals are available on them and hopefully the return of pan roofs, wireless charging and the ‘as advertised’ interiors hopefully happen!

I'm seriously considering an RS3 as a last gen S3 driver. I'm forced to go carbon black as it's the only way I can see to get the extra black spoiler on the hatch (my wife has a similar spoiler on her S1 and it looks fab). I also prefer the flat bottom steering wheel...shame I can't get it with auto cruise control as I've got both these things on my S3. I also have wireless charging..strange that it's not standard on the new car. Like probably all UK customers I'm shocked that they're not giving us the coloured stitching option..that's a box I would have ticked. The latest RS3 looks like a real step up on the chassis and I'm so glad they've hung in there with the 5 pot...I just wish Audi UK would speak to their customers more and give us some obvious options. 👍🏻😎
I agree and thanks. It is a shame because it is a step up in everything apart from the technology and design inside which they seem to be removing because of lack of demand or the chip shortage and the fact is that the cars are not arriving any sooner.

Audi UK do seem to have missed a trick or 2 with buyers...it's frustrating that you can't quite get what you want. I love my S3...amazing MMI, no touchscreens, virtual cockpit, matrix LED's, supersports seats, auto cruise and a flat bottom wheel...if I could have my car with the 5 pot and the new drive modes I'd be a very happy boy! 👍🏻😎

Heard that some UK Vorsprung orders are now getting June build dates. Can you confirm?
Opps! I appear to have accidentally edited that part out! LOL. That is correct we have a week 16 build and a week 24 build. Originally I did comment on this and say that I think it is likely to move forward.
Is this extended delay because you’ve opted for the Audi custom / individual paint colour though?

Audi, Mercedes, and VW now have exciting four-wheel-drive systems. They followed the lead shown by Ford in 2016 by the GKN Twinster system engineered into the Focus RS.
When I bring myself to sell my Focus RS the Audi RS3 will be a worthy successor.

360 camera was a secondary benefit for me, I’d rather they would give an option of removing the assistance pack and adding a flat bottomed wheel as an option. I’ve changed my order to Daytona so design packs would clash at best. Wouldn’t mind red callipers. The wait is the main issue, on plus side I get more time with my current car.
I think the 360 camera is a real benefit and it is a shame to lose it; specially as there is a blank space on the front grille for it which you can see in my video with the white RS3.
I agree. I’m in the states. Not sure if we’ll have it or not, but I don’t really see me using a 360 camera very often anyway. I still don’t even use a rear view camera.

The Sportback starts at £54,405 OTR and the saloon is £1,000 more in the UK.

You might still get it when Audi USA actually launch it there. Although the Sedan to me is better looking!
Bummer w dealer mark ups. I imagine when USA gets there stock models we will likely see more of the same. Already mark up on all used rs3. 72 k USA for 2020 model w 2,000 miles on odometer. I would guess a 10k mark up minimum on all dealer stock rs3. We still don’t have option to even spec the car or order one in USA. 😞

Haven’t really heard anything in you’re video making this the hottest new car especially with their decisions to not offer certain specs based on geography. As for the wireless charging you say it makes no sense and then mention it’s due to the chip shortage so how does it not make sense? I bought an M4 Xdrive with the ultimate package and guess what no wireless charging either. Just the way it is.
wow, basically as fast as the RS6! (but that is surprisingly slow and loses most drags). Want to see this against the m3/m4 xdrive.
That would be very interesting although the M3/M4 does have 100 horsepower more.
Does it have a Torsen system?
Not on the rear as there is a multi-plate clutch system which is all new.
@@TechInTheCar All new? I thought it's Magna, i.e., sport diff. Or, you mean all new for this model? And, I suppose since transversely mounted engine, no Torsen system.
It is new for this model; and allows drift mode.

So the MK8 R gets the sport diff with programming including drift mode; the S3 has the EA888 engine, transversely mounted also, Quattro with E-diff (aSport diff.) optional but no drift mode; and the 2022 RS3 has the 2.5L, transversely mounted in front of wheels, with Quattro with E-diff and drift mode. Doe sthat sound accurate?
The RS3 has this all new clutch system at the rear - I am not sure what the actual technical name for it would be but it allows the drift mode.
removed the 360 camera from the Vorsprung …… really annoyed. May consider cancelling now. Waited 11 weeks since I ordered and now this bad news. 😡

I’m pissed as well. I don’t want the car until Sept 2022 so I’m hoping by the time the dealership orders for me some of the stuff has come back, but I doubt it.
Thinking of cancelling myself on principle because of the way the UK market is being neglected but it’s such an awesome car. Damn you Audi, got me by the short and curlies!
The truth is by next Summer I am feeling that it is likely their will be the RS design pack option and the 360 camera will be back and everyone who ordered early will have a slightly nerfed version.

@@TechInTheCar I ordered mine 2 weeks ago factory order but they had a green competition and a dravit grey on the lot I could have taken I just wanted a Skyscraper grey with black interior and black wheels also wanted a carbon roof no sunroof so I ordered it , they are going to take my 21X3MC in trade of it . My fiancé will drive the M3 to work in good weather only 30 miles a week. I’m going to go today and place my order for a white golf r DSG as the back up car for scooting and commuting . So now I can finally start modding my 2018 mustang gt A10 performance package. It’s been sitting in a garage for 3 years with 2800 miles I have been torn on weather or not to mod it but if I have the other 2 vehicles I may make this a serious fast car instead of modding a new M3 with a warranty.

Well, this is not how I expected to find out that my Vorsprung isn't going to have the 360° camera. The dealer also hasn't let me know that it'll be £500 cheaper. Time to fire off an email. Thanks for confirming the wireless Android Auto, though 👍

I doubt it's Brexit related, more likely the smaller right hand drive market making some options less cost effective.
I'm sure that Audi would love to provide all the extras, but the chip shortage can't be helped.

Auditography did one however they did use the built in system to time it which I am not sure is accurate!
@@TechInTheCar I love this car, and the initial reports were that it was gonna be faster than 3.8 because Audi always undersells their 0-60 times. They all have been pretty close to 3.8. Also in these videos they say the handling is better, but still does not seem to be crazy good? I have a BWM 1M and a focus RS. With these initial reports on the RS3, is it worth the $80,000 plus that these videos are predicting?
In my video you see it do a 0-60 in 3.6 seconds! And as for handling that is up to what you like. Journalists love cars that slide around and most people don't as they like to keep control!
Hopefully they don't supersize this beautiful compact.
This is just a bit bigger than the previous generation and I think it is the perfect size so I couldn't agree more!

When I said subscribe it was more intended towards Audi UK press to help me get a car from them! I already have an agreement in place to drive the first car at my dealer when it arrives which is not the same one as the other video.

Because it is newer with features the TT RS lacks, such as the drift mode and newer tech. The TT RS is a generation behind in terms of everything. Having said all that the TT RS is still an amazing car that has that same 5-cylinder sound.

The suspension on the new RS3 is significantly better than the previous gen RS3 which I have; and the TT RS is from that same generation so the suspension will not be as good.

You can have a magnetic ride as well; but it isn't the type of suspension. It is the fact that have changed it to make the ride better.

The sound is really disappointing :/
It sounds pretty good to me. Not as good as the previous generation but not at all bad under load.
A 45s better performance, look, interior and value and custom drive modes and better round a track :/

Much prefer the hatch over the saloon , not sure if it’s just me but it looks like Audi ran out of design ideas along the flanks and quarter panels to rear end , fantastic engineering , nay sayers I currently have the B9.5 RS4 carbon as 3 is just a little small for me
To me it looks like that on the hatch. The pre facelift 8V had a very aggressive rear but on the new 8Y the rear is all round on the hatch and looks like it is a compromised design. On the saloon it looks purposeful and like the previous gen.
