- After several long months of waiting here in the United States, the new Audi 8Y RS3 is here! I brought one of my RS3s along with so you can take a look at them side by side and see the real differences.
What is your verdict? Do you like the new or the old RS3?

Had my 8V for 4 years and traded it in last month for the 8Y. I definitely understand the hate towards the heavy plastic use, but I can say that the general population love the 8Y exterior more. Previously only car people who knew what the RS3 was complimented it. I loved the sleeper look but looking back at my old car it just looks like a rebadged A3. The new design is far more aggressive and actually matches the power of the vehicle. Not to mention the handling difference.. Going around corners in this vehicle feels like Im driving a totally different drivetrain compared to the 8V. Understeer is a thing of the past. Less brake fade is also huge. The new technology (Heads up display, wireless android auto, better adaptive cruise/lane keep, bigger center display etc) makes daily commuting more enjoyable as well.
Looking forward to getting this car tuned with Unitronic. Side note, is there a link for that stealth Unitronic U sticker? I love the look of that
Thank you for the insider info and comparison! I hope that I will get some real seat time in one. Unitronic is already working diligently to get the tune out! The good news is almost all of the parts will fit!

What one would you pick?
So my 2005 audi a4 had memory buttons and power seats but the rs3 just now got them, I dont understand the car but I love it
The reason the previous generation did not have the power seats was to save weight because it was competing with the TT. Now that the TT has been discontinued they can add a few more things back

The last door is always hard to close on the new Audi, looks like no way for the air to escape!! So I need to install a soft close door device?
Any suggestions if some from GTA (Toronto) can do this??
I’m sorry, I don’t know of any product like this. On the prestige it comes with soft close doors in the USA.

Hated this new design when it first came out, but for the love of Rs3 I fell in love with it, now I can’t choose which one I alive more between 8y and 8v , on 8v I just love the sound and gear stick

Are you guys seeing an ADM on the RS3 in your area? I tried to buy one in July. Two New England dealers had a $10K and $15K markup. I understand the rarity but I passed and bought a different Audi.

Where I work at Audi Omaha, we are not charging over MSRP. However, almost every dealer around us is. With the high demand, I don’t think it will go away.

It does not
In my opinion, the 8Y RS3 is the ugliest modern car Audi make. In person they look odd, the headlights are way too big for the car and the rear wheels look lost. The whole car is top heavy and the interior is pants. Great video but I'm happy with my 8V :-)
We LOVE our 8Vs and won't be trading them either!

As someone with an 8V , imo it’s much better looking with some EASY front end mods like a lip. The new gen just doesn’t look like a classy Audi anymore and not a fan of those headlights. Especially those new gear selectors are disgusting.only thing I like of the new gen is definitely the drift mode.
We also have 2 8Vs and I prefer the 8V. I agree with the less classy look of the new one as well, I was disappointed to see how big and plasticky it got. However, compared to its competitors it looks pretty great! And I’m glad they made another generation with the awesome DAZA 5 cylinder engine.
IMO the new one makes the Previous gen look so 2000s 🥴
I think audi did this to attract a whole new type of buyer like myself. I was never into the basic looking old RS3’s, but when I saw the new aggressive and muscly design, I sold my 700hp ZL1 and ordered a 2022 RS3. Very excited to experience and Audi for the first time 💪🏽

@@emilytheaudinerd oh absolutely! Can’t fault the 5 cylinder. If you see it on it’s old it’s not bad for sure , especially I’m sure there will be cosmetic mods coming. Just that if you compare to previous gen , I know my clear winner ;)

Old one looks better still after all these years. New interior looks cheap and stupid cup holders.
I will admit I have a soft spot for the 8V. We won’t be trading our girls for the new Gen. But I hate to admit it isn’t as bad as I thought in person.
