Darius Twin review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Darius Twin for the Super NES developed and published by Taito.
Darius Twin is part of the Darius series of shoot ‘em ups, set in the aftermath of Darius II. It’s a classically styled side-scrolling shooter in which players must shoot enemies, power up their ship and shoot more enemies. Though its genre and gameplay may be familiar, the interesting thing about Darius Twin is its look-the game features a unique aquatic theme. Some of the levels take place above and even inside the ocean, and the enemies are intricate-looking biomechanical aquatic creature things. Hey, what else do you call a giant robot squid? Darius Twin includes single-player and local multiplayer.

Ah darius twin. Makes me feel like I am 12 again when I hear that familiar sound track!
it has no slowdown whatsoever in 1 player mode. pretty solid game

Wow I've finally found someone else who likes Darius Twin. The game normally gets a pretty bad rep which I always felt was a tad undeserved. Don't get me wrong there are better Darius games out there, even on the snes but I still enjoy this game especially the boss bgm

Darius is one of the flagship SHMUP franchises out there. It is to Taito what Gradius is to Konami, in my opinion.
I have Darius Gaiden for my PS1. I have a modded PS1 for imports. It's my favorite in the Darius series. It has amazing music in it.
yes! Even by playing one of the more less popular entries in the franchise, Derrick was able to figure out the greatest appeal of the Darius series. The aesthetic is just so memorable.

I personally prefer vertical shmups, Space Megaforce is my fav snes shooter. What a great game, everithing on that game is just perfect, when compared with many arcade shmups from that period. Great game.

Wow you sure need to catch up on your Darius! This is a pretty solid game but its considered one of the weaker Darius games, check out G Darius and the best one of all, Darius Gaiden!!

If you like Darius Twin, you'd go fucking crazy for Darius Gaiden. I first played it on the Taito Legends 2 compilation for the PS2, but loved it so much that I bought a Japanese Sega Saturn for it (it's available for the US Saturn, too, but the Japanese version is just so much cooler).
Play Super Nova (a.k.a. Darius Force), in my opinion that one is much better!

SNES wasn't known for its shooters but the ones it had are breddy gud
+Bluith SNES not only doesn't have a lot of shooters compared to Mega Drive / PC Engine & the ones it has are often crap / average & overall they suffer from SNES limitations : lame CPU; low resolution; muffled sound (which often happen & ruin the dynamic even more required for this kind of games)... But still, there are a handful of really great SNES shooters with maybe only one which doesn't suffer from being on SNES : Super Aleste. But they had hard times to make it so smooth.

Do yourself a favor and play Darius Gaiden on the Saturn. Absolutely fantastic with 2 players.

I really don't get why people talk so bad about this game. It's a pretty ok shmup. Not among the best around, but all ok. That's what matters
The poor man Darius. Not only it suffers from several SNES technical limitations (low resolution; muffled sound...) but in addition to this it's a bland, uninspired game (the music lol) which pales compared to others entries in the serie.
