Great coin. Represents a time in history when it was very important to show the world that the Philippines were still a nation in a time of war. I think they also minted a 10 and 5 centavos out of nickel.
They did i have the 10 cent centavos
I got a bit excited for a second, I was just given a 1944 S one centavo Filipino coin the other day. Since I am half Filipino peiple have been gifting them to me to have. Thanks once aging for the informative information J&B
This is a beautiful coin. I saw a 1944 Philippines 20 Centavos years ago at a friends house, and I always wanted one, but haven't bought one yet.
Great video I never knew that I've never seen these coins or heard about them before now my dad served in world war II and he was a collector and for every coin he would get he would get one for me for my collection, my dad passed away in 2009 and I still have his collection and mine and I would love to adopt this type of coin I've never ever seen them or heard about them until now,it would be a great gift from great people. 😉😀

I have 3 coins from the philippines 1945 tiny silver one with the lady holding the ax, 1978 25 cents, Juan Luna, and another that I have to find in my coin box. All came from my father in law from the army. They're very beautiful. I have them protected in coin covers. I love your videos.

Hi friends! Nice coins, I don't have any 44's but I do have just a couple of WWII era Philippine coins not in good shape from my Grandfather. I don't remember exactly the fv, reminded me more like penny/dime, but I know none are silver. Would be very nice addition to any collection. Good luck everyone! Thanks J and B !!!

Thanks for the info, I didn't know about this variety! I'm half Filipino and my LCS actually thought of me and put together a little stack of Filipino coins for me... '44 10 centavos, 44 and 45 20 centavos, and 44 and 45 5 centavos as well as a one centavo "Victory Coin" and a 10 centavos from 1966. Before that I only had change from trips to the Philippine, coins from the 80's and 90's

Very interesting! We like to collect foreign coins, although this doesn't quite count since it says United States of America on it. We get so many foreign s from coin roll hunting and from the coin machine rejects. We haven't found a silver foreign coin yet!

When I was in PI. In the early 70s I didn't think about the coinage to many other things happening??? However I did end up with some paper and coins since returning to collecting I've picked up some that would go great. Thanks for the extra druel

I have had this 1944 twenty centavos coin for a number of years, I found it in my change one day and I just thought it was so unique and beautiful so I've always kept it. I can't tell if the mint mark is double stamped, my eyes aren't that good. Guess I should look into buying a microscope or something.
