Thanks for all your hard work on every video. Congrats to the intern, he struck gold with you. A true mechanic, not a parts changer. Hope the New Year will be good for you and your family!
@@eliezerramosjr1017 That's probably a better term. I am old school so "mechanic" just popped in my head. I meant nothing derogatory about it. As a tradesman growing up it was a term we used for a floor installer who had become highly proficient. Again, old school. Guess I need to step up my game if I plan on commenting anymore.......
Thanks Mr O buddy o pal of mine wife just watched this and said see he don’t cuz. I just told her your new and just don’t know the language yet. You may have to slip in a beaver damn please lol 😂😂😂 always a great show
Nice! Glad to see you participate in an apprenticeship program! We have lost so many trade job workers. Electricians, plumbers, HVAC, carpenters, auto techs etc… way to go , Eric!
We have a shortage of tradesmen in Australia. No one trains apprentices any more. I'm almost at the end of my career as an industrial electrician. It has paid my mortgage off and allowed me to travel around the world. Has set me up for a comfortable retirement. I hope the young bloke appreciates learning from a master. All the best for the New Year to you Eric and family . 🇦🇺
Great to hear you're helping out the community by taking in interns, not everybody needs/wants a masters/Phd in xxx degree. Trades gave me a great career and I was able to reitre at 61 because of it. No regrets turning wrenches all my life!
Great way to start the day with an SMA video! No worries about the repeat. It’s still a good diag! The apprentice is very fortunate to be working there! 👍🏻👍🏻
Hope Mr. McCoy appreciates the opportunity that he has under your tutelage, Mr. O. Glad to hear you are participating in that program. Given back to the community!
In 1997, I was a high school intern at my local JD dealer. They took a chance on me and I have thanked them ever since. That was 26 years ago. My how time flies!
Great news on the apprentice program. I did the same thing in high school a billion years ago. 😊 I'm with Mike Rowe..... the trades are a great place for anyone to work.
Wow, Eric , it's so nice to see you supporting the students in the local high school he is very fortunate to have you as a mentor. Great repair. Take care, thanks 😊
Thank you for taking the time to mentor the high school students. I have said all of my life. I did not get to where I am alone. Many people were kind enough to share their wisdom, knowledge, of their professional experience to help me grow in my work life. McKay has a great opportunity and if he plans on taking up a mechanical technician position, he is working for the best trainer around. Thank you Eric for taking the time to share your experience, knowledge, honesty and integrity. Hope you have a blessed and Happy New Year
Even though it was an easy diag, I still love the video. And the fact that you help young people experience how a professional automotive technician does the job is terrific. Although I was going to be a dentist, I discovered my true love was automobiles. Best career decision I ever made that led me to a 30 year career with Ford Motor Company.
It's the variety that I appreciate because just like you, you never know what's going to come through that door. Refresher course's never hurt anyone. Keep up the good work Eric
I enjoy all Eric O content, even if it's a job done previously. As a citizen of the PRNY I really appreciate seeing how a pro gets it done. The videos are very helpful. Keep up the great work.
Will have to say that you save me lots of money and headaches.Upgrade my old scanner to Autel scanner over the holidays. Already paid for itself the first use Old snap-on one was to outdated. Had problems with rich fuel and ruff idle cold morning. Alcohol % was 57 😅with regular gas. Reset and everything is working and running smoothly. Thanks for showing us tricks on diagnosing problems. So we don’t end up throwing the parts canon at are vehicles. Or have to get screwed by dealerships.
Even after being a mechanic/technician for so long I still learn new tricks and shortcuts to diagnose an issue with a vehicle! Thanks for all the great videos and the honest repairs you do for your community
Excellent short video on a common problem. Great job on the "intern"! Eric is the all-around neighborhood hero! Fixing everything under the sun, and teaching our youth how to survive in the world of AUTO MECHANICS! He PROVES "If I can do it, YOU, can do it!"
Eric O. Make sure to train the apprentice on how to get to and from the Ice Cream Shop without Mrs. O finding out. I know the Ice Cream Shop is closed right now. But proper Ice Cream training is a must! Thank You and LOVE the videos.
Please don't worry about repeat videos. Shoot, by the time I've watched you do the same thing a few times I think maybe I CAN do it. All of your videos are entertaining as well as informative. Thank you for doing them.
No apologies needed for the repeat work. Always good to get a refresher and awesome work having the intern work with you. Hopefully he realizes you’re his best asset to the path to learning a good trade. As always “ Thanks for the great video” ! Even if I saw the last Evap valve repair us humans forget 50% of what we learn and see.
I had a High school kid work with me in my shop, and i am very happy he took what he learned from me and now he does most of his own work . that's a great feeling to see someone use what you taught them and become successful.
😂 I’m glad I’m not the only one when I use my Autel on 90% of GM’s and it’s asking you to select different options, I let out an audible “I don’t know” and just pick one! Thanks Mr. O for the incredible knowledge, diligence and great content.
Repeats are not a problem. Honestly, I enjoy watching your application of logic in finding the problems. Yes, the diagnosis on this one is sort of "cut to the chase" but that is often a big part of day to day mechanic work. Keep it up, no complains from me.
Nice, the kid is fortunate to learn from someone like you who takes pride in his work and done right rather than a hacker. Well done and Happy New year!
As always, a riot if you have the captioning turned on: "Self Made Auto"....even better: "Cancer vent valve". It wasn't until I started watching Mr. Obrachta's great channel, that I realized that the southern tier of NYS had it's own dialect. Cool!
It might be easy to you Eric O, but I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience with your viewers- and irregardless of our skill levels- you make us all feel the same- very professional of you!!!
Eric, the only repeat videos that I see on your channel are ones that I watch more than once, twice or more. I appreciate and love any new vids that you make, no such thing as a repeat when you do them. Love your channel my friend
It doesn't bother me at all to watch repeats, that is one of the things that helps one to remember this stuff. That's cool that SMA engages in the learning field exercises with the local schools. Just when I thought you couldn't get any cooler old timer ... LOL
He's got one of the best teachers out there, and he won't be leaving being a parts canon launcher. Your diagnostic strategies are solid, and is equally valuable when applied to in many other similar industrial fields. Also, lol at GM for placing the canister at just behind the back wheel where debris will accumulate and often ruin the part. If only those engineers would watch this channel too, but hey, at least they're providing the college funds for all of Eric's children.
Eric, you are a good guy for being a part of the program allowing the high school students to experience what you do in your line of work. At least the kids will have some idea what is required to fix automobiles these days...👍
Wasn’t stated on the video! But all parts were ordered from Napa Auto Parts WHICH ISN’T A SPONSOR!!!! Love the videos Eric!! Hope all is well and hope you and the family are doing great!!!
I could just imagine being an intern in your shop, Eric; probably never a dull moment. Even if your intern doesn't intend to take up automotive repair, he might learn something that might benefit him in the future. BTW train him to honk that horn before backing out for safety.....GREAT VIDEO!
Eric O that's awesome that you do the internship with the school! What a great experience for them! Mrs Tizzo andni would like to sign up for your TH-cam internship program if we could? Lol. Happy New Years to you and Mrs O and the family 🙏🙏🙏
Another great diagnostic video. Thanks for taking in school students as interns. I had the opportunity to do this with several school students over several years and it was a rewarding experience for both the student and myself.
I've been wrenching my own junk and many of friends for 30 years. What I have picked up from Eric in only a few years will miniscule compared to the apprentice working alongside him! Great stuff 👍 keep it up.
How fortunate the local community is to have a guy like Eric .
Thanks for all your hard work on every video. Congrats to the intern, he struck gold with you. A true mechanic, not a parts changer. Hope the New Year will be good for you and your family!
Thanks 👍

That kid is going to have a great head start working along side Eric!
I hope so!

The kid will look back and be amazed at how fast problems got fixed. Experience is priceless!
Whoo for the Apprentice!
I envy McCoy! I hope he understands what an opportunity it is to learn from the master, and he takes full advantage of the privilege!
That internship is how I got into this line of work. Back in 1976.
Half day at high school, half day at a local Phillips 66 station! Remember them?
That is a great program.I worked in a "service" station through high school. Thanks, Eric for doing this. He is lucky to have a teacher like you.
Great to hear you're helping out the community by taking in interns, not everybody needs/wants a masters/Phd in xxx degree. Trades gave me a great career and I was able to reitre at 61 because of it. No regrets turning wrenches all my life!

Learning from Eric O. Himself wow what a honor
Working on rust buckets in the salt belt in Jan... that'll make him study!!!
It is great that you open your shop up to kids trying to figure out what they want to do with there future. You sir ARE the example to follow!
Mccoy couldn't have a better teacher!
Hi Eric, If you take the time to make the video, I will watch it! This refreshes my memory, what's left of it anyway!😵💫😵💫😵💫

I like that you post videos early so I can watch and sip on my coffee
Lucky kid, learning from the automotive goat.. Thanks Doc.
Rinse and repeat! It never hurts to show things over and over. I enjoy your methodology and humor tackling your work. Keep them coming…
McCoy will be getting THE BEST experience!
It's never a repeat there is always someone new watching and learning.
Don't care about a repeat.I take what I can get.any video is a good video.even a refresher course is good.
Credit to you on letting an intern gain experience in your shop. Good to pass on your experience to the younger generations.Great video!
that kids has won the lottery getting learn from you

I know of no one better to teach a young man the ins and outs of modern auto troubleshooting.
One lucky young man to learn from you.

I feel like I have been your intern since you started your channel. The info provided has been priceless. Thanks!
Having an intern.. how awesome is that! And who better to learn the trade from... Great video, Eric!
Please don't worry about repeat videos. Shoot, by the time I've watched you do the same thing a few times I think maybe I CAN do it. All of your videos are entertaining as well as informative. Thank you for doing them.

I would intern with SMA and I've been out of HS for 52 years. Eric is a treasure trove of auto mechanical expertise!
It's nice to have a learning helper
You are a great educator. I have learned so much by watching your videos.
Awesome.. I wish as a Harley rider we had someone like you in that community
You are a excellent teacher Eric!🍎🍎🍎
😂 I’m glad I’m not the only one when I use my Autel on 90% of GM’s and it’s asking you to select different options, I let out an audible “I don’t know” and just pick one! Thanks Mr. O for the incredible knowledge, diligence and great content.

Mr. O is one of thew few channels I automatically give a 👍. You know it's going to be good. His skills and knowledge are top notch.
Repeats are good and appreciated Eric!!! Repetition is how I learn best. Awesome that you're doing the apprenticeship program!!
Learn all you can McCoy (?)!! Eric is awesome! Welcome aboard!
Nice, the kid is fortunate to learn from someone like you who takes pride in his work and done right rather than a hacker. Well done and Happy New year!
Repeat? That's okay, still great show! Welcome to the Real McCoy!

Eric, thank you for giving back to your community. You rock!
I don’t mind the repeat on a video, always nice to have a refresher
AND he takes interns from local high schools?! Wowzers! How can anyone dislike this guy?

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Hang onto your hat, 2024 gonna be lit!!!
Thanks as always, Eric! Those young folks couldn't have a better teacher!
Nice quick video and diagnosis. Hopefully he is the real McCoy. 🤣🤣
He's got one of the best teachers out there, and he won't be leaving being a parts canon launcher. Your diagnostic strategies are solid, and is equally valuable when applied to in many other similar industrial fields.

In the military we call that training our relief.
Good to see you mentoring someone.
Eric, you are a good guy for being a part of the program allowing the high school students to experience what you do in your line of work. At least the kids will have some idea what is required to fix automobiles these days...👍
Great that you participate with the interns!
Gotta love the quick and easy down and dirty repairs. I was gonna say stuck open purge, but the vent circuit code gave it away, nice.
McCoy is definitely fortunate having you as his mentor during his internship. Also, I don't mind the "repeats."
Wasn’t stated on the video! But all parts were ordered from Napa Auto Parts WHICH ISN’T A SPONSOR!!!!
Love the videos Eric!! Hope all is well and hope you and the family are doing great!!!
😂😂
Thx Eric. Always a pleasure and evap leaks are common so the vids are always valid. They are not all the same.
The hat pins and McCoy, nice job
I like the evap videos. I am still learning how that system works and how to troubleshoot it.
It's great that you're giving back to the community through working with the high school kids. Great job!
And yet another satisfied customer, way to go Mr O
I could just imagine being an intern in your shop, Eric; probably never a dull moment. Even if your intern doesn't intend to take up automotive repair, he might learn something that might benefit him in the future. BTW train him to honk that horn before backing out for safety.....GREAT VIDEO!
That young man is being taught by the best.
Nice to see you showing McCoy the ropes and giving him the benefit of your guidance!
Great opportunity for the kids. Nice of you to participate in that program.
Great to see you giving young kids the opportunity to see the trades.
He's learning from the best.
Couldn’t think of a better bloke to be trained by. Take every little bit in, McCoy!
You are the best teacher he could have.
I've been wrenching my own junk and many of friends for 30 years. What I have picked up from Eric in only a few years will miniscule compared to the apprentice working alongside him! Great stuff 👍 keep it up.
As a McCoy, Please tell that kid he is very lucky. I wish I could come learn from you. More than I have already from watching your videos.
He's a lucky damn kid, I'd like to come up there for some training.
Eric you remind me of my Dad, he was a plumber and he as took on young men who wanted to be in a good trade.. thank you for all you do...
Best videos on TH-cam thanks Again.. Good Luck Mccoy
Just in time for supper an a show!!!!
Happy it see kids learning something they can actually make money with
Well done Mr o it's always great to have people take care of students who want a better education
He's learning from a pro. Did you give him a hat with pen included? Thanks for the upload
Be great to see the intern do a little diagnosis. With the masters assistance.
Another job well done, Eric!
Best of luck to McCoy..........and I sincerely hope you've started calling him bones Eric 🤣🤣
