    Daniel the whiskey you are looking for is the Ao from Suntory. Which will be a blend of Japanese, Irish, Scotch, Canadian, and American whiskeys.

    Legent was literally the first bottle I have bought and knew just on smelling it I would have to go out and buy another bottle right away. Now I have a couple in the back of my liquor cabinet waiting on standby.

    I'm newer to the channel and have been binge watching your guy's content a lot to help unwind for the last couple weeks, my mother has been in and out of the hospital battling cancer, and after several weeks and significant surgery; we finally heard back, today, that finally she is cancer free! I bought a bottle to commemorate it, the Glendronach 18 Allardice; after one of my favorite episodes of yours. And I even gave the toast to the family, I couldn't help but quote you guys. Here's to Fighting, Stealing, Cheating, and Drinking guys. Thank you for the great work.......P.S. Daniel you've inspired me to get my CSS certification and Rex, keep on mooching.

    Legent starts off (the neck pour) disjointed. It becomes amazing shortly thereafter. Great blending! Very balanced!

    Driving down to Houston, I’m stopping at so many liquor stores in my quest for McKenna 10. One (middle of nowhere) shop offers me a sample of his personal stash; Legent. That is some amazing stuff! Never even heard of it before today. Bought a bottle and found your vid on it. This is a good day!

    I tend to really enjoy whiskeys finished in port or sherry casks. When I found this I was surprised, because I thought in order to be bourbon it had to be aged only in New white oak casks. I really enjoy legent and enjoyed this review.

    I tried the FEW Bourbon last week and liked it but it seemed a little young. I've not tried the Legent and when I first heard about it I too thought it was a Bourbon/Japanese whisky blend. What I am now wondering... is there ANYTHING in it that is reminiscent of a Japanese style of blending that reflects Shinji Fukuyo's craftsmanship?

  • @evanhowell3676
    @evanhowell3676 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    man Ive bought a lot of bourbons, Legent to this day has the most unique notes on it and still tastes like a bourbon. I have tried pretty much all the name brand bourbons and then some, and they all just have one flavor throughout the whole sip which to me is a little boring. I still have much exploring to do but legent has been my personal favorite and friends that try it, love it. It just tastes different. Good job guys, always like learning more when I can.

    Daniel, do you think maybe Suntory-Beam wanted to do what you were talking about, but they didn't proceed because of critics against Japanese whiskies like Trader Joe's Ryo or Matsui Shuzo's Kurayoshi (SM) blends? They need to make an awesome whiskey blend that will shame those companies plus other companies to call those whiskies a blended whiskies rather than stick a label to call it, 'Japanese Whisky', I wish Nikka distillery also had a bourbon distillery under their brand to blend all different types of whiskies together to create something new for the sake of creating something that was never done before.

    Question for anyone really, if i cant stand that dusty corn, sweet corn taste should i avoid bourbon all together? Ive tried many different ones of a medium to low proce range and have not liked a single one they are all wayyyy to sicky sweet for my pallet. Im just not really wanting to get an expensive bottle because i don't want to spend 130$ on a whistlepig and then hate it.

    • @Packman332
      @Packman332 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am unfortunately not experienced enough to answer this, as I'm still a beginner as well and trying just to get my palette to get away from just alcohol burn. Once I get past that I'm hoping I can figure out what I really enjoy in whiskey, but what I did want to say is maybe try and find a bourbon/whiskey bar in your area? I haven't visited mine yet, but I hope to soon. Maybe take what I would spend on a bottle or two, like 40 bucks, and get some selections and try some variety. That way you could go up and down in the whiskey price points and see if that makes a difference. Maybe instead switch to some scotches or japanese whiskey and see if those better suit you. Can drink them side by side and make comparisons? At least that's what I've been planning on doing once I can taste flavor profiles. I may be completely wrong with that advice though and hopefully someone else can chime in.

    • @canj54
      @canj54 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well WhistlePig technically is Canadian Rye sourced and mixed with their own juice, so you wouldn't necessarily get a heavy corn in it. Whole heap of fruity, spicy notes from Rye will get you instead.
