Flan is my class assignment this week. I'm so glad to have seen your video. I am a real fan of you and your wonderful wife. I will definitely be following you ❤😂
Thank you for the great tips on making Flan! I will definitely be trying this. But please your voice is great on its own without music drowning it out.
I've made this 3 times now (well, 3rd is in the oven right now), it's so good! So easy to make and everyone at work loved it! Thank you for the fantastic recipe and video!
I’ve never made a Flan with cream cheese before I’m gonna try that, but I cook mine in an Insta pot, and it turns out beautifully! Saves a lot of electricity plus it doesn’t heat my whole house up! This is how I use the insta pot: 1.75 qt Pyrex glass bowl, pour the sugar glaze into the bowl and set it to cool, then pour your flan mixture up to 1 inch before the top. Put that on a trivet put one cup of water in your Insta pot and then cook it on regular pressure for exactly 30 minutes and let it cool down naturally after I take it out of the pot I let it cool completely on the counter before I put it in the refrigerator overnight, try it you’ll never go back to an oven again!
NACHO!!! So good to see you and your wife baking! We loved watching the two of you on Spring Baking Championship. Of course not on the same season. If that happened, the two of you would've kicked some butt. LOL. We will definitely make that flan! That's my favorite desert! Cannot wait to watch more of your baking!!! From my wife and I to your family. Thank You! Santa Fe, New Mexico life residence. Felipe & Andrea Gabaldón.
Bravo Senior Nacho! You made my mouth water. I love flan and have been eating this dessert for decades at my favorite New York Spanish restaurant. Thank you for your fine presentation.
Thank you for sharing the secrets from your mother-in-law, you must be a favorite person in her life. Your flan looks so delicious, after working in the garden on a beautiful warming day, I decide to take a nap but after I see your video, I run right back in the kitchen and figure it out we don't have the evaporated milk, so my husband volunteers running to the grocery store to get it and I start with the rest. Can't wait to see it turn out for dinner tonight when our children get back home from work, wish me luck.
Wonderful recipe…. It came out perfect…. I have tried so many recipes for flan…. This has the perfect caramel proportion!! Came out nicely when it was flipped over thank you
I have watched so many videos today on "how to make Flan", it's ridiculous!! And, I must say, this is definitely the best video I've watched on the subject. Oooohhh & the Flan this lovely fella made is beautiful, it's the best I've seen, by far. And for that lovely fella hosting the video..... 👏👏👏 Excellent!! I really enjoyed the way he spoke to his audience. I think he done a wonderful job of explaining everything.... Overall, this was a great video with a great recipe. I'll absolutely be following these instructions tomorrow. I'm certain it'll taste as good as it looks!!
Thank you so much for your kind words!! Please make sure to share with friends, and stay tuned as we are hard at work for season 2 of Around The Table!!!
A dear friend of mine, who has now passed away when I was on a mission trip to Mexico, and the state of Quintana Roo taught me how to make flan she did it on top of the stove. I’m gonna make this in her honor.
I just started baking with my daughter & we can’t wait to make this together. Also at the end of this video after you took your bite we both said ohh yeah & then realized you said it too! It was so funny we had to replay that last part a few times. Thank you for sharing your recipe 🤗
My very first flan is in the oven right now! I swirled the caramel way up the sides to hopefully help it is to unmold easily. I forgot the pinch of salt, too. But I won’t sweat that.
Hi, Carol I used a 6" round cake pan that needs to be at least 4" in height, you can use a regular 8" round cake pan but consider that the flan would be not very tall. Let us know how it goes. Happy baking
@@AroundTheTablewithNachoSusana I just watched your video. Looks yummy! But I'm curious. You commented to someone else that you used a 6" x 3". I want to purchase a pan, but if I purchase a 6x3 wouldn't there be mixture leftover using your recipe? What size is best - 6x3 or 6x4?
Since watching your video a week ago I’ve made flan 3 times! 🤣 Mi familia les encanto! Grateful to have come across your video. No comemos mucho pastel para nuestros cumpleaños so este año decidí hacer flan para el cumpleaños de mi papá en Dec 5 y para mi mamá este fin de semana y lo voy hacer otra ves para Navidad ❤
I’ve made this several times and it’s always great. But next time I’ma try with only 2 oz cream cheese to see if it give a little more jiggle but still retain the creaminess.
Try it, we love the consistency that it gets with the cream cheese and also the tangy undertones that makes it not as sweet. Let us know how it turns out and if you like it and can taste the difference. Happy Bakes.
I was going to say the comment the same, though it does look really good, I use 6 eggs instead of 4 and get pretty much the same looking texture wise, not sure I want "tang" in my custard flan but of course there are thousands of ways to make flan.
Hey. Do I need to cover it up with the foil when baking? And after baking do it have to cool down completely or can it be slightly warm when playing in the fridge?? Thank you 😊🙏. It looks delicious 😋
@@juliepelegrino8875it’s not that serious. Stir or no stir, you still get your caramel. Plenty instructional videos here on TH-cam and they all stir the sugar around
am making this flan now but the direction measurement for the water and sugar is wrong he put way more than 2 spoons of water in the sugar , my carmel didn't look as fluid as his does am about to take my flan out of the oven , let ya know how it comes out
Thank you! Make sure to avoid any dripping disaster, use soft soapy sponge while the oven still warm. If already has build up try a spray de-greaser (do it while warm). Hope it helps.
almost perfect, but not covering the top while baking I saw at the end created a crusty bottom... not sure if that would add for better experience for some. Anyone prefer to cover it or not cover it? If not covered, why?
It is optional, as you flip it over to serve so it does not make much difference, I like the little crusty bottom as mimic the caramel crust. Happy bakings
Not covered when baking and with creme cheese is the magic touch. Perfecto ❤
I first tried flan, While I was living in Mexico. OMG it was heavenly. Thank you so much for this "real recipe"!!
Why didn't I think of that? The little trick of using a spatula to cascade the custard mixture onto the caramel is brilliant.

We moved to Qatar and my family and I have tried your recipe and we love it. This is what we always use. Reminds us of Abuelas Flan
So happy to hear that we can bring good family memories to y'all. Saludos

Thanks! I just received my Instant Pot RIO Wide Plus and Flan will be the first recipe that I will make.
Thank you, lovely lady. I'm an instant pot fan because it saves me tons of time. I'm ready to try this recipe very soon using your advice. ❤

So I am going to try this with the cream cheese
Perfect
I have a tip to get the condense milk out easy and smooth run the can in warm to hot water when you open and pour it will come out smooth no scrapping
Me encanta la manera tan sencilla que explicas. Love it!!!
Muchas gracias!! 🤗
The gloves you used to take out that hot pan it look very nice are they cooking hot pad gloves or construction gloves?
They are regular oven gloves, just need to find the ones that have the plastic at the end. Try Sur La Table
Hello do you add a pinch of salt? Or it could be okay without it?
Best of luck uncle ap ka channe bhut acha han ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤lots of love 💕 from Pakistan
Nacho! What up Brother? Nice video.
Cream Cheese Flan! Yum!
Do you have a recipe for flan that does not use condensed milk please? Thank You
Gracias.
Love it
When I make flan l always line the pan to ensure an easy release.
I've made flan many times but never with cream cheese. How does it affect the flavor? Can you really taste the cream cheese?

Hi, what's the difference about this flan and the original flan?
I just made it for thanksgiving tomorrow. The caramel was so hard to make lol you made it look so easy. I forgot the pinch of salt 😅
Practice makes perfect. Try it with less heat and take your time. Hopefully it would be easier next time.
Use dulce de leche o cajeta instead

Hay miles de formas de hacer un flan, mi receta es diferente... ❤❤❤
Anyone else start moving their phone around when he was swirling the caramel? Lol. Or is that just me 😂
😂Yes!! Caramel is magic! Thanks for watching.
Just you. 😂
How long do we leave fridge
May I know you used chicken eggs or duck egg
Thank you
Can i cook it via steam?
Li e this recipe. Can it be steamed??? No oven..plz reply. Anyway, will try.
Hello I have a question how long is the flan supposed to cool off ?
Hi, sorry for the late response, We like to leave it at least 2-3 hours as it tastes better cold. Happy bakes.
8:39 last but not least didn't hear the last of the recipe wheres the pinch of salt??
Is it possible for you to share where we can purchase the vanilla you used ? Thank you
The vanilla is from Magaya Foods I’m sure they ship nationwide.
What kind of flan mold is good?
How much cream cheese did you use?
4 oz so half a regular pack. Hope it helps. Happy baking.
Could you use a liquor with the sugar?
What do you put at the bottom of the pan to keep it for sticking
I'm pretty sure u don't put anything
He never stops stirring his caramel, when he tells you not to!
I just started watching it & he said not to stir it.. it will Cristal.. ( his English) .. then he starts stirring it & doesn’t stop ?
This is how you know he followed another video, and creates “content” of his own with indirect instructions 😂
You are definitely not suppose to stir the sugar never..
@@0010-n8qit’s a very minute thing, just follow what he does, simple.

His oven is immaculate! Looks brand new!
