Hebrew ... But she does a variation of an old Israeli accent... So even if you spoke the language it could have been difficult to understand all words...It is more magic than words....She playes with the words and sounds..

"Lion in a coma" by Animal Collective also has a 9/8 time signature. It's crazy how that sounds so different yet it shares the same feel as this rhythmically.
The 9/8 rhythm is actually counted : 1-2-3-4, 1-2, 1-2-3...since these are eight notes...just my crazy percussionist analysis coming through....this rhythm is known as Karsilama in Turkey and is possibly the most famous of their many structures.

When I see you singing & dancing passionately, I remember Baba Bulle Shah. He wrote Sufism in Punjabi passionately. One of his best writings "Zaher vekh ke peeta te ki peeta, ishq soch ke keeta te ki keeta. Dil de ke dil len di aas rakhi ve Bulleya, pyar vi lalach naal keeta te ki keeta". Your singing and Baba Bulle Shah's poetry are beyond this world. Its something like we feel divine love inside us. Our body goes out of our control, its like our soul is intoxicated with holy love. Your music gives me Sufi feeling. I can't understand a single word of your songs but I can feel the spirituality, the same holy love inside me.
My guru often spoke of Bullah Shah, the great Sufi...........In fact we love the Sufi path. It is true, real and powerful. I also lived in Istanbul back in the mid 60s, for 18 months when I was in the USAF. I loved it then and I love it now.....Selamler.
