I have the Metal Concussion comp, nice mix of styles that you'd never get on a release these days. Love those ghetto blasters, the ads in these mags are fantastic. Surprised you didn't big up that Chrome Molly gig ad! love these videos. Suze De Marchi, never heard of her but 😍😍she would have been a massive crush for me back then!

Hi Mike!!! Cool trip back in time and flip through too..... I thought Kerrang back in 86 was a full "heavy metal" magazine, but still it's a nice thing to see super lesser know bands like Persian Risk (Carl Sentence was the lead singer), then Toby Jepson he was the singer in the last Fastway incarnation and finally Lady Killer (S/T) i have listened to one album on YT and it was really good one... cheers

Thanx for taking us back to 1986!
Device was a Canadian pop-rock band, they were not heavier than A-Ha and I'm surprised Kerrang wrote an article about them. I've also noticed another article about Inxs in that issue so I guess Kerrang was trying to reach out to pop fans?! ;)

I probably have this issue in the attic somewhere. I remember Persian Risk - I have their album Rise Up, the 12" of Too Different and the 7" of Riding High. They were a decent band, but I think this may be their entire discography

Interesting.... that Surface album called Race The Night... I have that in my collection. Was a complete blind buy off eBay for about £3. At that price I thought it wasn't too much of a risk. It's actually quite decent. I don't mind it at all. Highest paid on Discogs for it currently is £24.77.

@@metalmickey I don't plan to disappear and so I do hope to get back to doing videos more frequently again. I might just start with a 1986 themed video or soemthing since your video here was from a K! from this year... I won't set a date but hopefully soon.
I hope the other's come back soon too. I guess life just changes around at times but I like to think we're all still out there. Thanks for all you do.

Fun flip through. 38 Special are a Southern Rock band from the States. Had some big radio hits. Hah. The page showing the album Metal Concussion - 12 Killer tracks - the first band is Hanoi Rocks. Don't get me wrong I like them, but would not think they'd be put on an album with Metallica, Priest, Sabbath and Accept. Cheers.

I am wondering what would happen if you write to these old addresses as well. If you find my old address in a early/mid 90s magazine and you call the phonenumber you can still have a chat with my parents, hahaha... they have the same number since the 70s! Nice job Doxxing the original owner of this magazine, Mike! 😂 In fairness, though, John Crompton in Bradford deserves a bit of hate mail for removing the Metallica pages of a magazine with Hetfield on the cover and then selling it, as well as keeping the thing in a fucking ring-binder! 😂
Didn’t seem there was too much of interest in this issue for you - you spent more time talking about the ads than the mag contents! 😜
