Surprisingly, I have never seen one of these guys in Southern Ontario, but I know they are here somewhere. I used to find so many red belly grass snakes and garters. The red bellies are so cute. 😭I live in a dense foresty area but now they're starting construction and digging everything up. 💔

I've seen one but it was purple in Kansas city
It could have been a great plains skink, Plestiodon obsoletus. They are quite similar looking to Plestiodon fasciatus.. they are in the same family.
