    This is not a simulation. The video shows a real robot doing SLAM in real time. The robot is using ROS and the mapping is being viewed in RViz.

      Thanks! But most of the amazing stuff is done by ROS :-). Autonomous navigation and SLAM using ROS is covered in detail in my book ROS By Example (Volume 1) available on Lulu.com as a PDF or paperpack. (If you Google "ROS By Example Lulu" it should be the first link.)

    I was wondering whether the path you displayed in your SLAM is the local path or global path? I see it's so wonderful.

      +Tien tran phi The thin green line indicates the global path. If you view the video in fullscreen mode, you can see a faint short white line in front of the robot which is the local path.

      nope, at start it was not. Then, it used a path planner.
