      Miles Beckler Hey Miles, awesome video, created a process very similar to the one you had shown - also using SurferSEO to grab the Heading count too! I'm curious to know also, what sort of process do you do for supporting articles in the silo that interlink to your money post? How do you go about doing research in conjunction with the money post and picking topics that can be interlinked? Thanks 😊

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I generally search for three posts on my site that reference the topic and simply go build one internal link from each of those three pointing to this new post. Sometimes more, sometimes less… Depends on how much I've talked about this topic in the past

      Thanks Miles very helpful. Q & A section sounds like a good section to add to blog posts. For you is it still content that is key? Are you running backlink outreach, paid backlink or PBN projects in conjunction with your content creation? If so how much of a focus do you put on content as opposed to backlink generation? Maybe a video on this would be cool. Gaining backlinks on a white hat basis seems to be a real chore and I wonder whether the time is best spent purely trying to develop great content.

    But, if I get into a 90-day challenge this way, that means I need at least 90 titles.
    My questions are:
    1) Do I need to go through this process for all 90 blog posts?
    2) How to find 90 topics (titles) for the same thing (for example, how to find 90 titles for Best Chef knife)? From your video, I would say you have at best 11 of them.

    1. What kind of title do you suggest for this kind of format, which does not have numbers list in it like the other examples?

    Miles, I don't know how to thank you enough. Super helpful content.
    But few big confusion you didn't clear here that I badly want you to answer is-
    Question: Like you said, "if your competitors are reviewing 10, you should go for 12." Now, where should I put the 12 lists of products between "Intro to FAQ". How many products should I show in the best overall section? Should I divide the 12 products in between "best overall to alternative 2?" That's 2 products per section.
    Aren't "best budget and best under" the same thing? You didn't show the best runner-up.
    Thank you for your contribution to the digital marketing community.

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      just keep making the post longer as needed to fit 12… You could put them in the "additional items tested" section at the bottom and simply do some Google searching to find some review posts that have lots of items reviewed to use as your personal examples

I obviously do not own all the knives I will be reviewing and do not have pictures. Can I use a picture from amazon if there is a product link embedded? Just trying to avoid using images that could get me in trouble.

    Quick Question: If you have additional sections which do not appear on google (e.g. other questions in the FAQs which are not on google) but I think that they add real value for the reader, will this be penalised by google for adding these? i.e. will it dilute the reward for the stuff it is looking for. Real eye opener of a video - wish I had watched it 30 articles ago....keep up the good work mate!

Should we be just focusing on one keyword phrase for review posts or is it also important we optimize H2 sub headings as well? For example your sub headings just look like “best ……” and “best…….”.

    Hey Miles, thank you for the amazing value you provide. I have one question: I think that giving too many options to the people can overwhelm them and cause them analysis paralyssis. Nice tidy format for 'review' sites. Well done. Re: Chef Knives: Serration is key to to ease of cutting. It takes proper serration to both cut a tomato and a steak. A non-serrated knife will 'squinch' a tomato's skin not 'cut' it cleanly. So, would you include why some knives cut better or worse than others?

    Hi Miles, thanks again for all your teaching. I have a question (another) I’m hoping you can help with. I want to track referral sales, when someone clicks on someone else’s product on my site - not traditional affiliate, not amazon or click bank etc, just plain referral.And I cant find out how/where to get tracking links/codes. I dont use wordpress as for e-commerce it was $70 a month so have my own website built through a provider (complicated decision). Anyhow, in the absence of wordpress plugins, I’m lost as to how & what tracking links I could use. Thanks heaps again in advance. Stay well.

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can add new TM codes and give the recipient of the traffic the data... If you want to own the data, you are getting into a very deep and confusing world that offers minimal amount of value for the amount of effort it takes to try and track. Event tracking and analytics, maybe a plug-in like pretty link, but if you don't control the transaction you should let go of this feeling that you need to track everything.

    Can this type of blog post (reviewing the best knives) be posted in the beginning of a blog's life or is it better to have 50-100 general posts first before you jump into writting something in such depth? And another question: How many posts (or how much traffic) before you should begin to include affiliate links in your blog? Will it hurt to include affiliate links in your first post or better to wait?

    Awesome thanks Miles, quick question... I'm guessing the chef expert who can recommend the products would be a writer for you? What products would you recommend if you have a niche that you struggle to find an expert that's a writer? Or would you say that @t would be able to find you a writer that can recommend products in most niches?

      I found a student who is studying my world and they do all of my research... Not my writers. An example would be in the music space, say I have a website where I review guitars. I found a researcher who is in college getting a music production degree and who has played guitar all of their life. They are in Guatemala actually so they are very inexpensive. They do my Amazon product research for me

    Hey Miles, when you're doing these and you find "best chef knife under $100" could be its own post (based on what Google is showing for that term), do you write a whole new post for it as well? Or just try to rank your main keyword for this term? And if you do decide to write a post on its own, do you do anything to de-optimize your main post to avoid any cannibalization?

    Also, you don't need to own a product to review it, as long as you state on your affiliate website that you are compiling the best products together for comparisons etc(pros/cons) based upon the hundreds or thousands of reviews, to save the reader alot of time in making their decision. That's what I learned from Greg Gottried . Just make sure you are honest and if lots of people are mentioning "cons" make sure you don't leave those out of the reviews. ... Most of the sites that do reviews of products don't even own them. Nobody is going to buy 20 different welding machines and use them, or 20 different vaccum cleaners and use them. They are just creative with their content to make you believe that they actually did use them. But unless they are extremely wealthy, there's not reason to believe that they own or have used all of those products.... I prefer those to just have a disclosure that says otherwise.

    Thanks for the great post! This is super helpful. Could you elaborate more on the product research phase? Did I understand correctly that you'll hire freelancers with domain knowledge on Upwork to help with product research? If just starting out and limited on cash to invest, do you recommend scouring Amazon reviews and other review pages to determine the products that best fit the post? Any other recommendations?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I recommend choosing a niche where you have ample experience so you can draw from your experience to add value beyond what anyone else has created. if you are simply regurgitating Amazon review content you're not really adding anything are you? I would only hire a professional here because I'm not an expert in this. Which is why my brand is all about digital marketing because I've been doing the stuff since 2003 and it's easy for me to pull from my 17 years of expertise in making money online.

      Hi! Bit of a late reaction, but I am running against the same problem😟 For a first affiliate website and limited cash, how will you be able to write multiple (honest!) posts about multiple products? Many people own maybe some products in any niche, but not enough to build multiple posts per week I think? Do you maybe have some recommendations?

    Awesome content, thanks Miles. I have a question, concerning the content creation for long-tail keyword articles. Let's say I would like to write an article about "vegan dog food". In the SERP I will find most competitors ranking for the head term "dog food" and the long-tail "vegan dog food". If I analyse their H2s on the topics I need to cover, I will have a lot of topics that are not relevant for my long-tail article. How to write article that focus only on the long-tail keyword?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      every post and that SERP has the exact longtail phrase in the title - www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=vegan+dog+food
      You're not copying the topics from other people's blog posts… That's not what I taught in this video. Please rewatch the video and make sure you understand the process and if you need help watch the additional videos linked in the description of this post

    I noticed that you use price ranges in your review (under $50, etc). I have also done it, but now I am not sure if it is OK to continue using the price ranges. Amazon rules explicitly say that prices should not be mentioned (unless pulled by API), and Amazon Associates' support could not assure me that using 'under x price' is safe. At the same time, I see that these queries get a lot of search traffic, so it is very tempting to use them.
    What is your take on this?
