Till I turned 18, I was thin and everyone mocked me. Then i started putting on weight (due to PCOS) and now they try to convince me to go to a gym. No thanks, I am in shape and my shape is called BEAUTIFUL. :) Dear girls, if you are reading this, know that you ARE beautiful. Not in what you look, but in what you actually are.
Yea I myself am a medium but my sister is thin and my entire family bodyshames both of us and says it's just a joke so I guess we can't please anyone 😩
It’s so annoying when people wrap their hands around my wrist and are like “OMG YOU'RE SO SKINNY”. Like I know that already. But I am thankful for my incredibly fast metabolism.
I thought the same when I lived in India. But, after meeting people from other Asian countries who have more stricter beauty standards,I guess I have to say India is not all that bad. But we could be better 😊
@Aparajita Basu What you said about Indian food...Dude, homecooked indian food is actually very healthy. Just we use a bit more spices in our food, doesn't mean our food is unhealthy. And about oil...most of the oils used to cook Indian dishes like mustard oil, coconut oil (in South India) ,ghee...Yes ghee...they are healthy and not at all fattening. Also, all these oils are used in limited quantities at home.(Same can't be said about indian food served in restaurants though)
@Aparajita...hey I'm from kolkata too! Well, I have to agree that raw food is anyday better than cooked ones...I guess we'll simply have to adjust to whatever we have to try and remain fit...
@@shrutisingh8743 Indian food is healthy compare to western foods but not when it comes to Japanese cuisine. There is no to very little oil, they just eat boiled vegetables, meat and rice. While Indian food 'sabji' it is mandatory to have oil. Samosa, puri etc. But our food tastes better and is healthier than western foods.
When I was a teen.. I was told I would look nice if I put on a little weight, when I did, I was told I would look nice if I lost a little weight. Sometimes I feel people are just trolling. And the best reaction to trolls is to pay them no attention.
Yes that happened to me too. I used to ignore them earlier, now I tell people to shut the fuck up now. If they hear a reply, that may deter them from getting on the nerves of other polite, sweet women (my past self basically). Btw, I am a size 28.
I work out and have a 26" waist. I still get called fat sometimes. Trying to live up to people's expectations is stupid. We should focus on being healthy.
@@graskok2863 How is this possible? I am from Europe,i am short (5'0) and people say I have a small waist I think that my waist is like 26"... I am 46 kg. And let's be real when my waist was 24" I was super underweight I was 35.5 kg. So girls no need to compare your waist, you are gorgeous and I cannot even imagine how people can call you fat 😱
Trust I use to have 35 inch waist I got really criticized for that but now I'm have like 23 inch waist. People are like why are you so thin you will blow away tf!?
As an African woman studying in India,I get this a lot, from college to my friend's mom,I am tall (5'9),large hips and large back part,so one day we went out with my friend's mom to look for Indian ethnic wear for me,so she was only looking for dark coloured clothes for me because dark clothes makes you look smaller, and when we got to tailor, she kept on telling the tailor how plumpy I am,that my body shape is so disproportional, since my upper body is smaller than my lower half, and the way men here in India sexualize a woman's body is unbelievable, they strip you naked with their eyes, this really disturbing
"they strip you naked with their eyes"...?? You are in India or area51? Maybe you are "plumpy" "tall"... so what? Why it bother's you? Maybe tailor has never made anything for you or anyone like you, so obviously she will make excuses.
There’s a lot of people calling the channel out for posting diet videos. Eating healthy and working out isn’t against what they’re saying. They’re not telling you to not loose weight or get healthier, but being thin shouldn’t be your reason to get healthy and neither should you be obsessed with getting thin.
Exactly! People are kind of missing the point here! I weigh 51 kgs and almost every guy I know calls me fat, even though According to my BMI my body fat percentage is 20% which is the minimum requirement in women! A few kgs down and I would be considered underweight! There is seriously something wrong with the mindset of the people here because even the west isn't as obsessed as we are with skinny people
I'm a fat guy but I've seen that beauty standards for women are much higher than that for men. I've seen people calling a girl FAT but if it was a guy with the same body size, he wouldn't be called fat. If a woman has a little bit of tummy or waist fat, she'd be immediately fat shamed. Its like on a scale of 1-10, if 7 is fat for men, then 4-5 would be fat for women.
OOOMMMYYGOD why u r not my friend bruh!!!!.. 😭❤ guys with this mindset ...are fucking best...nahi to bc yaha to beauty standards ke alag hi mindset hai..
I have PCOS! And I love food! My friend's mom once told me to look at my belly and think of my shape after marriage! I just hate them so much! And also I am just 16! They are telling me to think about my marriage! I am like... "R you kidding me?" 😡😡
I was mentally tortured by my boyfriend for getting fat. My university friends used to mock me and some of my male classmates were asking me my waist size. It is so hurtful and very hard to control your emotions but I don't give a damn. Because my parents are happy with my shape😊 they don't ask me to lose weight they tell me to eat more and be healthy ❤🤗🤗
That's great;your supportive parents! It was horrible of your mates and boyfriend (no offence please) to mock your weight!!! After all health comes in different sizes
I was overweight.. And I understand what you went through. Now I am not..and I know you can choose to be healthy (like have a healthy BMI) too. Now my body is a massive source of my confidence.. Thing is if my body can effect my mental peace then part of loving myself is taking care of what can upset me. If you choose to be fat knowing that the world is going to affect you then you probably didn't make the right choice.
@@r.i.t.i.k.a that is thing you know....Ur just saying, change if u dont wanna get bullied,...ppl who choose to be their body type knowing that the world won't go easy on them...they don't give a fuck cuz they know better than to live up to other ppl's standards... Which we all should do actually..so if u lose weight cuz u think ppl are gonna bully u, your not changing for yourself but for others...which is not good, not healthy as ppl have different expectations and living up to all of them...is totally impossible... And this can lead to lots of eating disorders and mental illness..and lots and lots of insecurities...
@@srijaneemaity385 No, I love my weight, because it's in a safe weight range, and boys go gaga over me :) I like being the prettiest. I like having any guy I want. I like looking at myself in the mirror. Just because you're fat, doesn't mean I have to be. I'm a human, not a pig fattening up for slaughter. Besides, you aren't choosing to be your body type. I'm a guitar shaped girl. When I was fat, I looked like a football. Those are completely different shapes. There's a fine line between body positivity and celebrating obesity.
Last year I gained some weight after my summer holidays in May. A classmate told me to get thinner. This year I am a bit thinner and he was saying, " Gain some weight. You are so thin". I thought," What the Hell?". Does not mean i eat less food. I would have been fat as I eat a lot. But without any exercise, I am THIN.

I agree that body shaming is wrong I also agree that fat doesn't mean unhealthy and thin doesn't always mean healthy But when you've crossed over to XXXXL you're no longer a little chubby you're obese BMI may not be a 100% accurate but it's still a good guideline
vishruti singh the thing is, people have to live. If a person is obese, of course they have to address their health. But they still have to live. Blasting a person with negativity isn’t going to fix the problem.
I grew up skinny, and all the time aunties and relatives would tell me to eat well, see a doctor, and that they can see my bones and also that thin girls don't look good. I'm 5'11 and not very skinny now my weight is alright for my height. But people wouldn't shut up, they still expect me to gain weight to look "healthy". Be skinny or even just a little chubby people start saying garbage.
Same here. Even im 5'11 and a skinny person. Whenever somebody tells me arey gain some weight na.. I just reply- Iam atleast healthy. That is all one wants right?
One of the beautiful thing of this video is calling out winners of Miss Universe and Miss World in 1994. That was a scam. Just so that fairness get a promotion. And Loreal and other brands strikes with Indians. Yet to see a dusky Miss India.
Supreeta Sagere You’re funny. Where did I ever say being fat helps people? If you’ve never been called fat or made to feel inferior because of that, then I’m happy you’ve had a kind childhood. Being called fat or ugly when you’re just 7 years old does untold damage to your childhood and life beyond. I’m all for healthy and fit. But NOT FAT SHAMING. That will never be okay. Let me know if you need to debate this. I’m all in.
While I agree that fat shaming is wrong, I don't agree with BuzzFeed promoting an unhealthy lifestyle unknowingly. It's okay to accept yourself and choose how you want to look like. But, we can't ignore the facts. Asian people (which includes Indians obviously) have a higher risk of developing diabetes, atherosclerosis than our Western counterparts. It is for this reason that the BMI cut off values are different for Asians, when compared to the others. INDIA is currently the DIABETES CAPITAL of the world! While hereditary factors play an important role in type 2 diabetes, lifestyle and habits play an even bigger role. Accumulation of visceral fat (around the organs like liver, pancreas etc) is very commonly seen in people who have excess fat around their tummies. And this is the most dangerous kind of fat. You spoke about PCOS. Yes, I agree that women with PCOS have a hard time losing weight. But, one of the main reasons for developing PCOS is infact obesity and sedentary life style. It may not be so in every person, but it is one of the major reasons. And, although medicines are effective in PCOS, the ultimate solution to get your hormones under control is exercise and weight loss. I agree we shouldn't skinny shame or fat shame anyone but at the same time, we shouldn't ignore the health risks of having too much body fat also.. Also, you are infact body shaming the actors for having thin bodies. Is that right? Source- I'm a doctor. Thank you.
Even i hv pcos n i find it really hard to loose weight..bt still i try to keep my diet as healthy as i cn so tat my weight shud be in chek..tats a good step if i replace d food on my plate wid sm other food stuff wid good amount of nutrition..
India isn't obsessed with being thin. In fact, the percentage of obese population in India has tripled in recent years. You shouldn't hate your body, but if you are overweight you should consider changing some of your habits to become a healthier person instead of blaming society.
Kyra Thapa you got to be kidding me! Being fat is one of the reason which increases the risk of depression, they are encouraging obesity so how r they addressing mental health issues ? Moreover working out helps a person to release “ feel good hormone” called endorphin which keeps many mental disease at bay. So stop falling for their propaganda! Being fat makes a person lazy and in a risk of suffering from hypertension, diabetes and what not.
I understand that being obese is a danger to health but I personally am speaking from my perspective. Not only obese woman get fat shamed, a normal girl of perfectly healthy weight is also met with the and unnatural standard of beauty from the media hun. I'm talking about the unnatural standards of beauty like being very thin ( which harms the body equally ) unnaturally fair and tall. And eating disorders are at it's core a mental health issue. I was never overweight just chubby but was perfectly healthy but still got fat shamed that led me to bulimia. What i understood from the video was we don't see weight as a health thing but we see weight in the context of beauty. But again i disagree with fat shaming obese women as well cause that is not going to benefit anyone as emotional eating is one of the leading causes to food addiction. Yes, health is a problem for obese woman but we as a society have to create an environment and a long term solution for this rather then bullying people into thinness.
@@PrakashSharma-xw5vh kinda late to be replying to this lol. But anways being fat and obese are way different. Educate yourself on that. And being fat doesn't increase the chances of being suicidal or suffering with depression, the fat shaming that comes with being fat is the cause of this. Victim blaming at its best
The word healthy is underrated n obese is overrated..many people do not know what 'healthy' is..all my life people called me skinny n when I hit puberty I gained some weight ..instead of calling me healthy they would comment 'wow ! U became fat' .. P.s-my BMI is 19 n sometimes fluctuate between 19.5-20.5 which is normal
That is exactly the problem - very few people understand what it means to be HEALTHY! Weight is not the only factor that determines whether someone is healthy or not - there are so many things to consider! You maybe in the category of normal body weight - but physically you may be very unhealthy.
The No Crew Guy first of all u don't even know difference between makeup and shape....i don't use makeup to hide any thing.... By the way i don't even care to your words but i need to answer u😐
Being fat is not healthy it increases the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure etc .so I don't think that she's awesome for promoting an unhealthy body type
I am 4’10 and I love to run everyday❤️ all my neighbors and old friends from school can’t stop telling me “how thin” i am! And another friend who got chubby, how fat she is..there is literally no winning
Soooo sorry but I will eat my saag with double makhni, because: I don't care. India has to much tasty food to offer so I rather get fat stuffing my face with gulab jamun 💃
You might start caring when you get a stroke and you become a burden to your family and your country ( yes we are all paying tax to contribute to the public health care system).
The only reason I lost weight was because it was difficult for me to find my right size both online and offline and I got most of my clothes stitched . I remember once I was roaming in a market with my mom looking for a jacket ...then we came across a shop where the the shopkeeper told "maidam k size ka jacket nahi milega idhar " n that was the moment I felt terrible and it affected me to the core . Till that time I was okay with my body because I was always chubby but gained weight because of PCOS . I then started working out and did lose a few pounds . Today I am still curvy n chubby but not fat and I love myself n m not looking forward to be skinny anymore. I just feel bad about myself because I hated myself when I gained weight. I should have embraced myself back then . Ladies you are perfect the way are . Never hate yourself ❣️
Thin shaming - Cool Fat shaming - Oppression Being thin has it's downsides - Flat chests and butt, being called things like kandi, lakdi, udd jayegi, sukha bombil, etc. There was a time when curvy and fat women were considered more attractive but nobody called it thin shaming. Shaming of any kind is wrong. Why isn't thin shaming not frowned upon like fat shaming? And then people say thin shaming isn't really a thing. It's just a compliment. A compliment, really? I don't deny that skinny bodies with curves in the right places are visually pleasing like VS models. But that's not true for everyone. Some might not find even the VS models attractive. And most of the skinny people don't have curves where it's needed. Same with the fair skin shaming. Dark skin is beautiful and so is fair skin. Neither one is above the other. And it's not just India where this is a problem. It's everywhere. Also finding skinny people to be attractive isn't fat shaming and vice versa. Everybody has a choice and a type. th-cam.com/video/BOSQzoSFkZc/w-d-xo.html
It all started from Kareena Kapoor Every one had an obsession of having size 0 or heroin chic body like her Even i remember during that time I couldn't able to find a proper dress as most of them are for those who have size 0 shape This is why women in India are trying to loose their curviness just to get their favourite dresses
Afra Hossain my mom is constantly embrassing me about being so small even when I eat as much as I can and I feel like throwing up. They are both issues
Alina Umer my parents do that to me aswell it’s annoying and kinda disgusting how much they want me to eat but it doesn’t make me feel like I’m too skinny because Ik in society it’s easier to be a skinnier person so just cause I couple of people said I’m too skinny I’m not gonna be embarrassed about it
My mother keeps warning me that I am becoming fat. I love my mom and mostly do what she says but I am done with her weight loss obsession. The problem is the thin me does look better than the round me. And I wanna wear a monokini without feeling disgusted by my thunder thighs.
unfortunately, it’s hard for women who were at one point in their lives very comfortable in their skin and how they look to keep feeling confident and have a high self esteem when their own parents keep harping about how fat they are and how much they don’t fit into the standards of beauty while never realizing the toll it takes on their children... there’s a way to say get fit for health benefits but to keep throwing society’s expectations and their disappointment repeatedly at daughters is not the way to go about it. When your own support system leaves you out to dry, how will we create strong confident women?
actually being thin as a stick isn't necessary....but being healthy is....therefore a thin or a fat figure doesn't matter.....if you look (not being judgmental about beautiful looks) and feel healthy....that's enough
Lol 🤣🤣🤣😂 if you're fat you're probably leading an unhealthy life and consuming excessive calories I don't believe in body shaming women/men but I don't believe that women/men should consume enormous amount of calories and stay unhealthy. Being fat is not healthy it's easy to not be fat just follow a decent diet.
@@achintsingh8765 Not everyone’s body is same, there are people who are naturally thick and many who suffer from diseases that makes it difficu to loose weight. You can be healthy and fat , do some research its not that hard
I don’t think india is obsessed with thinness. I think Indians prefers to be healthy looking and even just have a bit of meat on you. I think being too thin is always put down. All of my family makes fun of me for being too thin, whenever we go to india. And ppl I don’t even know looks at me weirdly. It has always made me feel self conscious. I don’t know if it’s in all of INDIA, Or maybe just KERALA. Because my parents are from Kerala and being thin is always put down in that state. And obviously being too fat is also considered to be bad.😅
Zarxa These girls are from rich families in metros and probably never been to a rural area in India to be saying 70% of Indian women are plus size. Its more like 70% of Indian would be worrying where the next meal would come from.
Ahh yes my bad. You're right. From my experience, majority of the Asian girls are annoyingly obsessed to be thin. Not sure of the whole 50Kgs though but it seems plausible, unfortunately.
Wait aren't you the ones....who do write articles like 13 things you can do to get that Bollywood body or 13 things that you can eat that will give you body goals etc
Jack Septiceye3 they just did a whole video on keto workout for the results that were achieved by various celebrities.....you can just Google and look it up sir.
A man in film industry: Only 6 pack abs, best hamstring, hairless chests and belly (even though men are more hairy than woman), perfect needed jaeline and only the strongest...... No body talks about this and people who also feel inferior due to this... Even women want these things in men too (atleast jawline, strong)... But of course we are men and have no problems.... I am a purely feminist guy but some issues are not gender biased, even not this.... If someone is told to be fairer and thinner and studies suggest that women have more impact than men, then men are also told to have a lot of money and a stable job and studies show men have bigger impact of this than women.... We need an equal society
I agree with u . Noone should follow those stupid fake standards , we should be like how we want .Stress on men is also real .and its getting high these days
@kenisha trivedi Im not saying making video about problems women facing is wrong ,but i ve seen my friends (girls) judging boys and other girls on the basis of colour .I hated that. in general i believe girls ended up judging more but dont u think boys and girls both face these problems ???
Beautiful video that made me cry. I' wouldn't consider myself plus sized, and even then I am constantly harangued by my parents about how "my face looks so huge" or my "waist looks too broad". As a society, we need to work towards dismissing these "ideal" beauty standards. We need to change NOW, before it's too late.
Being thin and being fit is two different thing and people are silly enough to confuse themself. A.K.A I disagree with people who say accept fat , because I was too fat was i have compleely changed myself for becoming fit.
I love the fact that this video concluded with solutions to change the body image and unrealistic standards. As an Indian teenager, I came across some experiences where I hated myself and the way I looked. I was mocked, made fun of because of facial hair and thick body. I think people should not judge a person solely by his/her looks. All of us should accept our flaws and shortcomings. No one can ever be perfect ;))
Thank you buzz feed India! An informative and strengthening discussion that needs to be out there! Love I how you punch in healthy dose of sarcasm as well.
I am 164 cm and 60 kgs but I still get lectures from people regarding my belly fat and thunder thighs.....hahaha.... I don't care what people say....and eat a lot....hahaha
Awkward moment when your overweight Desi grandparents give you a hard time for weight and you're not even overweight :/. They also give my super thin male cousin a hard time for being small. I finally told them not to talk weight in front of me and its very freeing. Basically some people will never be happy
The worst feeling is when you're finally satisfied with your body, and someone criticises something you're insecure about. My body size is 40 - 28 - 40, which is not as horrible as it sounds. I have a fairly flat stomach, but of course I have a bit of lower belly fat. My hips are much bigger than my waist. Whenever I meet my grandma, she always says "Nim, you look like you've lost more weight. All you have left is to lose the weight on your hips, then you'll be beautiful". It honestly pisses me off, but all I can do is hate myself even more
Body positivity is important but it's not about accepting yourself it's about loving yourself. At the end of the day health matters so being fit is important.. I have started my journey to become fit. So somebody's body shaming you it's totally bad but take it positively and become healthy.. because body shaming is not restricted to obesity.
Dudes, in india they don't like you thin at all. THat's a misconception. They like you a bit plumper, like fuller, like madhuri dixit was at her prime. I was constantly told how thin, and sickly I look in India from relatives and randoms lol when I'm not, i'm a healthy weight for my height.
For my grandparents it's both. They're fat but give a hard time to their fat grandchildren. They also give a hard time to thin male grandchildren. And don't get my started on elbow and knee scrubbing. Maybe depends on the area. We're north Indian
It's an influence of the western beauty standards that had been introduced during colonialization which affect the entire Asia, weather east, central or Southeast at the present as a delusion of so called *"PERFECTION"*
*Remember being unhealthy means not being able to be productive, walk a long distance, or do any work so it doesn't matter if you're chubby or skinny unless you're weight is actually inappropriate and your body can't function properly and lacks you from doing work*
Uhm... I am an Indian and I never (okay not 'never' but almost) heard false comments about fat people. In fact, I have seen chubby girls in movies as the main character too. But one thing for sure, India is obsessed with whitening but not thinning I guess. Not like Korea or any other country obsessed with thinning in India. (Excuse my bad English if its bad.)
Try being underweight. It is equally difficult. I hate these types of videos which tell that only being overweight is hard. These people are the ones who body-shame thin people. 😒
A true If you are thin naturally people say eat something gain some weight we also face body shaming but no one really talk about this problem because no one thinks its a problem
A there are two sides of the coin and this video is solely dedicated to one of it. Both of them struggle equally. The video also mentions about Anushka Sharma being skinny shamed. And maybe BuzzFeed might make a whole video for that side too. 😊
Not at all a preachy video. Loved it! Everyone should watch it. We are really obsessed with becoming thin. Even at the pretext of "becoming healthy" and going to the gym, we are actually secretly desiring to look thin and not really tending to our minds and bodies properly. I am personally fed up of hearing the taunts and remarks from a variety of people.. Some are straightforward and some try to slip in their advice for me for becoming thin. Most common - lose weight and you will look hotter or more beautiful. Well thankfully now I am least bothered by these comments but I won't deny that it annoys me at times. And yeah I keep getting sympathies from my good friends as well that ignore these people and that I am beautiful the way I am. Well that's really nice of them but I guess I have reached a point where I don't need anyone to tell me how beautiful I am. I know I am beautiful, amazing and kickass. Basically I want to just say is that don't try to over sympathise with people or groups of people who are not in majority or who are always ridiculed. What you can do is ask the people who taunt the overweight, curvy, big women and men to shut up! Victim ko kya samjha rahe ho? Perpetrator ko bolo na 😎
If tomorrow, obesity becomes the major reason for any health disorder, BuzzFeed is not gonna come and pay for the treatment. The only purpose of BuzzFeed is to propagate false narrative and propaganda because it is a hard fact that obesity is not at all good for health and it should not be glorified at any cost.
Thanks for addressing this major issue!! Seeing the comment section, I guess most of the people don't get the point here.. The thing is a lot of people feel uncomfortable with their body even when they have a little extra body fat, bulging tummy, big thighs etc., and looking at these standards set by the society now, they feel depressed that they don't look as thin.. But, in the video they're not promoting obesity, you should always keep exercising and stay healthy and fit (but fit does not mean size zero).. But even if you are a little overweight, you shouldn't be body shamed or called names, yes you should try to reduce weight, but you don't need to be depressed and sad about it all the time..
I guess.According to me you should chase for good health and automatically the ideal look or beauty will follow you (Because you'll eat healthy food and excercise daily)
Ashmitha Maria "Kuch toh log kahenge logo ka kaam hai kehna" 😚 kill the odds, its your life, nobody has the right to mock you down like this. Just ignore them and live your life to the fullest 🙂 Xoxo
Now the main thing is that....everything is just fine !! and we should accept our body the way it is.. but the fact is that when u will become older...all ur body weight will affect ur knee...and diseases like arthritis will definitely occur.... So why dont we just take care of it from the start....i agree that being fairer is wrong but being fit is not wrong...infact overeating which leads to obesity can lead to death....so to make a better tomorrow why not start today !!
Right! We should love ourselves, but that doesn't mean we should let ourselves go. We should thrive for fitness and have a healthy diet. Some women are naturally curvy, or skinny. It doesn't matter what your body shape is. But your body's health does.
And these same women who are saying accept me accept me for my size are the same women who salivate over a shirtless six pack john Abraham, ranveer Singh, Salman Khan. Salman khan isn’t loved in bollywood cause of his acting. He overacts and is loved only cause he takes off his shirt in almost every movie. Question is will these same plus size women accept plus size Indian men as well? Or hold them to the same “beauty standard ideals” of men in the west?
I don't know, this video made me feel like it said "thin women aren't real women", because the "real women" aren't portrayed in the media and "skinny women" are. For the girl who says that clothing manufacturers make impossible sizes for women in India, saying that nobody is that thin, and the one who is is trying to just conform to an impossible beauty standard, felt offensive to me, because I personally find it really difficult to find clothes that are XS or S in size, and all I see are clothes that are L and XL! I have been really skinny since I was young, and have constantly battled body issues because of it, because the beauty standards trending at that time were "Real women have curves." And still skinny women are seen as impossible and as those who are trying to 'create body issues among others with their flawless bodies'! It's frustrating, and skinny girls like me are never able to conform to one beauty standard because of it, and are always taunted by relatives and parents. India is not obsessed with thinness, it's infact obsessed with curviness, and no matter what the body positivity narrative, we are always on the brunt of it.
Im also overweight (not much though) i used to hate my body and was obsessed about dieting and losing my weight! Once i got unconscious in a public street i stopped dieting. But now its about healthy life, healthy diet and and a healthy body! exercise, good eating habit may be slower but enough!
Riya Krystal well. They are encouraging obesity, being fat brings many disease like hypertension, diabetes and what not! These feminists who think being fat is beautiful are ugly, fat and obnoxious themselves. So they want to feel good by criticizing good looking women.
Riya Krystal Me too! But tbh it's fine if we wanna loose weight. That should be because we want to..for a healthier lifestyle and to feel good....not because of thoughts like nobody will accept or appreciate our curvier bodies...as the society imposes. 🙂☺️
Jaya Shekhar that is not really true, people who have bmi of 24.5 are healthy but they are on a verge of being overweight. The best is to have a bmi score between19 to 23 ,which is perfect.
Till I turned 18, I was thin and everyone mocked me. Then i started putting on weight (due to PCOS) and now they try to convince me to go to a gym. No thanks, I am in shape and my shape is called BEAUTIFUL. :)

There’s a lot of people calling the channel out for posting diet videos. Eating healthy and working out isn’t against what they’re saying. They’re not telling you to not loose weight or get healthier, but being thin shouldn’t be your reason to get healthy and neither should you be obsessed with getting thin.

Agreed! so many people here missing the point

India isn't obsessed with being thin. In fact, the percentage of obese population in India has tripled in recent years. You shouldn't hate your body, but if you are overweight you should consider changing some of your habits to become a healthier person instead of blaming society.
Love that buzzfeed india is adressing mental health issues and body issues.
Thin shaming - Cool
Fat shaming - Oppression
Being thin has it's downsides - Flat chests and butt, being called things like kandi, lakdi, udd jayegi, sukha bombil, etc.
Everybody has a choice and a type.

unfortunately, it’s hard for women who were at one point in their lives very comfortable in their skin and how they look to keep feeling confident and have a high self esteem when their own parents keep harping about how fat they are and how much they don’t fit into the standards of beauty while never realizing the toll it takes on their children... there’s a way to say get fit for health benefits but to keep throwing society’s expectations and their disappointment repeatedly at daughters is not the way to go about it. When your own support system leaves you out to dry, how will we create strong confident women?

I'm the faaaaàt guy
DUUH!!

Duh!!

A.K.A I disagree with people who say accept fat ,
because I was too fat was i have compleely changed myself for becoming fit.
0:36 it's not HEALTHY... It's OBESITY🤣🤣
I know who can prevent this…

Yesss i am proud of u
@@fizafathima4918 Thank you for uplifting me.
That's the spirit 💪 juz go for it dude 😂 I'm also in
Awkward moment when your overweight Desi grandparents give you a hard time for weight and you're not even overweight :/. They also give my super thin male cousin a hard time for being small. I finally told them not to talk weight in front of me and its very freeing. Basically some people will never be happy
If the “be thin” culture came from the west then why do they make clothes for plus size people? Can some one explain?!
Anyone here tired of hearing PEOPLE TELLING U ALL TO REDUCE WEIGHT 😅😅😅😅
Because being overweight is not healthy ??

Alysa Pacheco get it thats why u r stupid lazy or unhealthy noy because u have personalities.
You guys are phenomenally creative...and sensitive to the social issues around you...Hats off to you...All the best for your endeavours..😊

Lol tell that to someone who's always told to lose weight (I'm talking about me, I'm told to lose weight all the time)
“Impossible” body standards
People who disliked this video don't have hearts
How am i alive?
r g lmao
Yeah we are heartless monsters for believing that eating healthy and exercising regularly is important
It's an influence of the western beauty standards that had been introduced during colonialization which affect the entire Asia, weather east, central or Southeast at the present as a delusion of so called *"PERFECTION"*
Stop obsessing over appearances and start obsessing over pani puri. Thank you.
3:11 Rachel from friends 😂😂
Fat shaming is definitely wrong but so is getting comfortable with body fat
Try being underweight. It is equally difficult. I hate these types of videos which tell that only being overweight is hard. These people are the ones who body-shame thin people. 😒
A true If you are thin naturally people say eat something gain some weight we also face body shaming but no one really talk about this problem because no one thinks its a problem
Hello? This video clearly says that it's okay to hit the gym to feel healthy, it's talking about unreal body standards
A there are two sides of the coin and this video is solely dedicated to one of it. Both of them struggle equally. The video also mentions about Anushka Sharma being skinny shamed. And maybe BuzzFeed might make a whole video for that side too. 😊
Haha malnourished lul

This is a First world problem.India is a poor country with millions struggling to even eat one meal per day.
I guess.According to me you should chase for good health and automatically the ideal look or beauty will follow you (Because you'll eat healthy food and excercise daily)
People are mocking me because I'm too thin😥
Ashmitha Maria "Kuch toh log kahenge logo ka kaam hai kehna" 😚 kill the odds, its your life, nobody has the right to mock you down like this. Just ignore them and live your life to the fullest 🙂

Thank you.
India is not obsessed with thinness, it's infact obsessed with curviness, and no matter what the body positivity narrative, we are always on the brunt of it.
i've personally seen more girls here that fit smaller sizes and its so sad to see that they rarely seem to find their size

You look like Ratna Pathak! The way you say things, I feel like, I'm watching Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai. But here the discussion is healthy and serious!
Most Indians eat continuously without worrying about obesity but will regret in the end
Guys there is a difference between sexy skinny and skinny, do not starve yourself but exercise to feel and look good
Im also overweight (not much though) i used to hate my body and was obsessed about dieting and losing my weight! Once i got unconscious in a public street i stopped dieting. But now its about healthy life, healthy diet and and a healthy body! exercise, good eating habit may be slower but enough!
#loveyourself the way you are flaunting your flaws is what should be admired the most and not what comes in a package........
Who wants to LOOSE WEIGHT even after watching this video 😄😄😄😄😄
Like mee 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Riya Krystal well. They are encouraging obesity, being fat brings many disease like hypertension, diabetes and what not! These feminists who think being fat is beautiful are ugly, fat and obnoxious themselves. So they want to feel good by criticizing good looking women.
Riya Krystal Me too! But tbh it's fine if we wanna loose weight. That should be because we want to..for a healthier lifestyle and to feel good....not because of thoughts like nobody will accept or appreciate our curvier bodies...as the society imposes. 🙂☺️
Prakash Sharma they're not. People shame curvy bodies of women who have correct bmi
Jaya Shekhar Then they should have shown people with such bodies, the people in the video, especially the first person is OBESE.
Jaya Shekhar that is not really true, people who have bmi of 24.5 are healthy but they are on a verge of being overweight. The best is to have a bmi score between19 to 23 ,which is perfect.
There's a difference between being thick and sick.
This channel has very good content and so underrated. You deserve more views and thanks for such a great message.
My parents don't want me to be slim or thin, they just want me to be healthy and fit so that I don't have diabetes because it's in my blood
