@@colefrazee OK! I was not expecting something as grand as this Cole my good writer! It's great to see all of your development with the entire cast be put to great use especially with Kooper's quick thinking of that chute of his making. I wonder what happens now... With Kolorado... And more importantly... Bombette.
Yooooo, this new story driven post was so good, definitely a good idea on your part!! Aaaa seeing Kooper finally prove his worth in the end was so satisfying!! And seeing how worried Karry and Bow were for Kooper and Bombette respectively, as well as Watt wanting for everyone to be ok, was super sweet- Stuff like that, as well as other little details like how Bow and Watt hurry after Karry out of worry, really shows how far the party has come to care for one another, considering Bow started out not wanting anything to do with Bombette during early Chapter 3 and Kooper was beating Karry over the head with Goombario a chapter before that. Honestly, little things like that really make it feel so satisfying to have followed these logs from early on, seeing all these different relationships bloom and develop!! Oh, and having the bandana parachute (I believe) be a reference to when Bombette destroyed his original bandana and how he had to get a replacement was such a clever idea too! I can’t wait to see what’ll happen next time with Bombette and her current conundrum (whether it be next episode or a later one)!! Oh, and Goombario is pretty based for liking Hamilton lol
When I was a kid, Lava Piranha was the one of the hardest fights in the game. I was stuck on him for months. Omg I'm loving your voice for him. It's perfect. "DECK THE HALLS, B*TCH!" I spat my drink out at that LMAOOOO
So I gotta say when Chugga was giving praise to Chapter 5 and concluded with "And so are you" when almost certainly referring to Misstar in my head I thought the 'you' in question was us, the audience, and that sentiment alone made me really emotional for some reason. And then steamimg came up to give me internal tonal whiplash, which is always a good thing, I'm sure
Just want to say, your voice acting has increased dramatically lately. Even without the voice changing gags like with Gourmet Guy, the individual voices you've put on display has increased in range and efficacy. Even your occasional singing has been far more in tune than the old days. I think you could do audiobook covers if you ever had to retire from LPing.
I might be tripping, but at some point Chuggaa was considering becoming a professional commentator (think tv or sports) as a career. He ended up never doing that, which may have been for the best seeing the direction tv has gone today. But I do keep clinging onto a dream that he will do documentaries at some point in the future :))
Chuggaa's voice acting range is something I can only aspire to. My letsplay channel's entire gimmick is that I'm roleplaying while LPing, and one of my characters is "try to sound really deep for a dwarf voice" while the other is... just my normal speaking voice. I couldn't put on an accent to save my life, much as a slavic accent would improve the latter character.
In the first LP, it took Emile 47 videos to clear chapter 5. In episode 43 of the first LP, Emilee received the Jade Raven, brought it to the Raven statue and started the journey to Ralph's nest. Tune in at the end of chapter 6 for another side by side comparison!
He does do a lot more cuts nowadays though. Like he said a few episodes prior, some things may take more time for him but less time for the audience ;)
@@VonFirflirch The Embers on Star Road. If it was TTYD Ice Power it would also be handy beyond there through the final boss, but unfortunately it’s not TTYD Ice Power.
@@Rexaura888 Eh, I never even fight these, to be honest. Now that you mention TTYD, giving it the Freezing Ailment, like (or replacing) Ice Smash, would have been neat.
The ominous and intense volcano music is half the reason this is my favorite chapter; combined with the sinister molten lighting and ambient sounds of bubbling lava flow, it really captures the dangerous feeling of sweltering heat and sulfur. The other half is the boss. The first four guardians of the star spirits feel like they just got the job due to being flashy and hyping themselves up (or in Tubba Blubba's case, begging for power). But Lava Piranha just feels like an ACTUAL monster. No eyes, a body of vines, thorns, and fire, and barely capable of speaking in understandable language. There's also something truly sinister about a PLANT of all things being the boss of a volcano.
@@jessehcreative ehhh, General Guy is kinda the border (fitting being the Chapter 4 boss). He's certainly formidable with his tank and army but his army is shown to be filled with cowards and he himself is nothing once his tank's defenses are easily breached.
I've always imagined Muscular and Misstar to be high school sweethearts who got married and became star spirits. As a kid I just loved finding parental figures in video games, and these two really stuck out to me. And what with Twink's interactions with them, and Misstar's role at the end of chapter 5, they've just always stuck out to me as the best star spirits.
This boss has a really cool concept, even if its fight is kind of underwhelming (if you're playing well the second phase never gets a chance to do anything). I'm just a sucker for monsters that can live in lava like it's water. On a different note, its Book of Mario incarnation's one of the most memorable for me. It opens the battle with "FUCKING FUN SET!" and then ends its monologue by declaring it loves Mario. I don't think it's one of the more talked about things of Book of Mario, but still one of my favorite moments in it.
I really love the music for Laval Piranha's second phase. Excellent example of how a skilled composer can make damn good music even with limitations like the N64's audio capabilities.
I just love the energy Chugga brings in his commentary. It makes every little thing in this game seem so awesome and magical, and his character voices are also really fun! Really helps build immersion and keep me engaged with the story!
I do remember having dreams about what the volcano looks like, back in sixth grade. Not to mention that if you pay attention, you can actually see the lava gradually getting higher. But yet it never overflows, in the second to last room.
Aww... little Goombario is growing up. I love this chapter so much, I think it's probably in my eyes, the second best chapter in the game behind Chapter 7.
Cool looking boss. Ty Chugga as always. Today I’ve had a flu jab and have had a bad cold recently, and I feel crap, watching you and this series has made me feel better. Same with my mental health. You have no idea how much you make me smile. Ty. ❤
I like how at the end the Star Spirit (not saying the name to avoid spoilers) decided they had had enough of Kolorado and their facial expression read, "You're coming with us whether you like it or not!"
10:02 what you're doing wrong is you're attempting a glitch that requires you to button mash and try to exploit a buffering error. I'm going back to rewatch the previous episodes but I don't think you've tried to do the move as intended. Either way I am convinced you'd have better results just playing Tidal Wave's minigame. Either that or adding a Misdreavus-immunity style counter for every time you attempt that bug going forward. I'm loving the series but I figured your first death coming from fishing for this glitch would've been a clear sign.
Mega Shock is fantastic in this fight when the Petit Piranhas are spawned. They actually increase the main boss's susceptibility to paralysis so you can max the meter out more easily. Pretty sad actually how many ways exist to bully this boss: Ice Power, Snowman Dolls, Sushie's water moves, Mega Shock... I'm honestly surprised to hear this boss gave players trouble with how exploitable it is to so many different options just shutting it down, especially in phase 2.
Then again, how many people played this game as kids, and as their very first RPG? ... I was among them, unfortunately x) I was also part of the "Me always upgwade HP" crowd, double whammy! xD
That lip smacking voice was perfect. It sounds like come cartoon character I can't think of but I love it. haha I actually got double star points from Merlee when I played this as a kid and I screamed so loud that my mom came in and pulled the plug on my system and had to do it again. I still got double star points after the fact.
That is one extraordinarily sturdy and well built treasure chest to survive a volcanic explosion, being launched a substantial distance, and totally and utterly unscathed; not so much as a singe mark
I've been replaying Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door because of the LP and I have to say. It's amazing the parallels I'm seeing between the two tropical island chapters. They both take place on islands (that's a given), both are where you get the Ice Power badge, both contain caverns you that you exit differently than when you came in. And both contain a post chapter "bonus" segment between the chapter boss fight and the princess Peach segment. Oh and also, both chapters give you what is considered the best healing star power ability in the game (Smooch in pm64 and Sweat Feast) both of which are upgrades to the first star power you get. I doubt it means anything, but I just wanted to point that out.
It's pretty cool. And I've been noticing lots of similarities between this game and TTYD in most of the level themes so far, definitely not just this chapter. For example: Creepy forest area involved, Boo mansion, friendly NPCs are being eaten/transformed, parts where you have to use your new partner's ability to phase out and pass through an otherwise-impossible spot or to hide to get new information to progress, unbeatable boss with a secret weakness you have to figure out from one of his secret, locked-away underlings, etc. etc.
Beautiful voice work for Lava Pirhana! I enjoy this fight - never gives me any trouble. I tend to just do chip damage during phase 1 to save FP and go all out with Tidal Waves, Squirts, and snowmen in phase 2. And I love the escape sequence! And similar to Muskular's cereal bowl hat, I thought Misstar was constantly jumping rope!
Oh, that sash she is wearing is typical of sagely/heavenly spirits in Eastern mythologies. I've seen them in a lot of artwork depicting mystical creatures and inhabitants of the Kingdom of Heaven.
Protip: I always use Muscular for this fight to keep Lava Piranha's attack power low, with Fire Shield reducing damage by 1 Lava Piranha would only be able to do 1 damage (unless you guard then it's 0)
I always found it interesting how (at least last I checked) the name of this boss is just "go, go Mario" like this one is a bit more special to name-drop him. Regardless, I'll always appreciate naval piranha references, even if kid me bringing ultra rank sushie invalidated his main mechanics I guess lavalava island has never specifically stuck out to me but on revisiting it, it's just a nice, solid themed jungle area. I tend to go more for specific elements that make chapters good for me, but I can appreciate one that's mostly solid. Now that I think about it, aside backtracking being a bit excessive (which, ttyd baby), that also goes for chapter 5 of the sequel Miistar's scared sprite always creeped me out with how odd the eyes look
Just wanna say. I watched you multiple years ago during your wind waker let's play 13 years ago. After that since I was young and didn't know how TH-cam worked I couldn't find your videos and couldn't remember your name as it was to long for my little brain. 13 years later at age 18, im finally finding the first TH-camr I actually got into (even if i i only watched 1 let's play) it's amazing and nostalgic to see how far you've come. Enough with the sappy s***. Keep up the good work. Videos have come along way and are amazing.
I can't prove this, but the thing around Kolorado's neck kinda looks like a Shrink Stomp badge. I like to imagine that's what he's attempting to do as he valiantly charges in to "save" you.
It's not easy to pull a double fake-out, but this game did it well with the boss and the fact that the volcano erupts. Plus, the Lava Piranha does look like a powerful foe... unless you know the right things to use to pummel it. It's challenging, but fair.
6:21 I mentioned back during Tubba Blubba that there were 4 songs in this game that I liked. Lava Piranha phase 2 is the second one of those. It’s called Go, Mario Go! Phase 2. Spoilers for the rest of the LP. The last 2 songs won’t be until Chapter 8.
So I was replaying Paper Mario for like the 14th time and this is the exact point I was at when you started the LP. I put it on hold so I could play along and the time has finally come!!
01:13 Oh Lord, he still has the Egg Missile on him... 04:05 Ah no, he put it away. For a second I thought he was actually going to show it. 04:30 Well, I would've been surprised if you hadn't made any mention of it. 06:31 I often think to myself how easy Lava Piranha's second form is because you can stun it using water and ice attacks. However, I must've played this game over ten times over by this point (and even my first playthrough was not a blind one), so I know to use ice power and stuff like that. But this is a flying, burning enemy here. If you don't have Mario properly outfitted, he cannot do anything to attack besides use items or call on Skolar. I definitely see how this might be quite tricky for new players. 07:14 I love this dumbass so much it's unreal. xD 09:12 Well, they are Piranha Plants, so it makes sense that they share the sleep-weakness. 09:54 You know, we haven't seen Merle show up in this fight thus far so... 10:34 Shucks. 11:10 "There's nothing between us and the treasure" Well, now there is. You can't go past the Star Spirit here. 15:06 That chest is made of some awfully sturdy wood, let me tell you that.
Weird thing about this fight: In the American Nintendo Switch Online version of this game, the Switch emulator enables a hack that forcibly halves the framerate during the Lava Piranha fight (there is also a hack that adds lag to the pause menu). Reportedly, the code for the hack implies that it's designed for the lava bubbles in the fight, but that doesn't really explain why they felt the need to make it lag to begin with.
I just did the fight the other day and you can really feel the frame rate change - it makes the fight significantly tougher because the timing for jumps and blocks is off. Definitely the hardest fight in the game for me so far.
Last chapter Chugga left Watt trapped and got cool dialogue from Merlin. I wonder if you can leave the star spirit trapped in their card for similar dialogue.
Seeing it now it's clear that Misstar is holding a ribbon, but I always thought she was holding a Lasso and she had that heavy country accent, and considering what happened in this chapter I thought it was fitting.
The fact that this LP has allowed me to learn so many new things about Paper Mario it's the greatest disappointment of my life that the next LP won't be a Paper Mario TTYD Re-LP
Yes! I've been waiting for this day! Nothing like a hot tamale spewing, poor grammar speaking, kick ass music being, magnanimous venus fly trap of a boss!!!!
Yes yes I'm late, and I never comment on these. Still. SO. This probably has to be my most anticipated episode from just seeing the shadow of Lava Piranha all the way when this chapter started. But I really love the theme for this chapter. From the relaxing and soothing jungle to a dangerous and intense volcano. Even Sushie is a great character! This has to be my favorite chapter so far. [Luigi is impressed/10]
In my last playthrough, I decided to challenge myself by using Parakarry and ended up at 1 HP. Then the piranha missed and I beat them and got the spell double star points and screamed with amazement.
When I eat spicy food, I always liked to think of myself as the Lava Piranha. I'd suck in a lot of air and then let it out with one big poof like the boss here. I've done this for over 20 years now.
Ch5 is one of my favorite chapters. My favorite partner is Sushie (especially your thirty year a smoker Aunt who gets you the worst holiday gift take on her), I love the Yoshis, Kolorado is my favorite side character, my favorite Star Spirit and the music is great.

Kooper: Of course. Look, I might not be the brightest Koopa around, but I'll do whatever it takes to save my friends. Even if I have no business putting my nose in other people's business, I just want them to be happy. That's all I could have asked for since starting this journey.
Bombette: ... Kooper.
Kooper: Anyway, could you help me put this parachute back in my shell? I've never tested it before and I don't know how to...
Karry: Kooper! *tackles him to the ground* Kooper you're okay! I was so scared when you fell! If I could have made a wish I would have wished you were born with wings and not me and...
Kooper: Karry, listen. I'm fine. Really. I'm good. But, could you help me out with this parachute?
Karry: Oh, yeah of course. Say isn't this the oversized bandana I gave you?
Bow: Bombette! *hugs her* I'm so glad you're safe!
Watt: We were so scared! *almost cries*
Bombette: Girls, please. I'm fine. All thanks to Kooper. *looks over at him*
Sushie: Like as I said, me gills are never wrong. You do be lucky to have a Koopa like that willing to risk his life to save others.
Bombette: He, he saved my life. *looks down* And I've been nothing but a jerk to him.
Bow: What was that?
Bombette: Nothing, it's fine. Let's just, take this time to celebrate, ok?
Sushie: Sounds like a plan to me. Grub is on me mateys! To the village! *everyone but Bombette heads back to the village*
Bombette: *internally* What kind of friend am I? *solemnly walks with the others to the village*
A bit of a unique post since I don't think 6 other logs for one boss fight/escape sequence is all that neccessary. This one's a lot more story driven and I've been waiting to share it. Depending on what progress is made in the next video, there may not be a log either so heads up. 5 Stars down, 2 to go.
Days since joining:
Goombario: 43 Kooper: 38 Bombette: 37 Parakarry: 32 Bow: 21 Watt: 11 Sushie: 5

First off, some comments in the last video told me that I was referenced on Emile's TV Trope's Page. But after searching multiple places for his Paper Mario Redux, I could not find that mention of me. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places, or it's just not there. Second, for anybody who has not completed Xenoblade Chronicles 3 already, here is what I think the unofficial-official Rule 5 of the Salvager's (Captain's) Code is...
Always be greedy. Why have one when three's just as fun.
If you know, you know ;)
Today I learned: goombario is a Hamilton fan
Bowser: THAT'S IT! LAVA PIRANHA HAS GONE DOWN! PYRO GUYS! BURN THAT HAVEN DOWN!
Later...
Steve: *YAWN* Morning already set in. Let's head to-
Esteban: STEVE! IT'S AN EMERGENCY!!! ENEMY TROOPS ARE ATTACKING THE ISLAND!
Jack: "Agh! The Haven! We worked so hard to make it!"
Steve: RED SQUAD, ASSEMBLE!!
Red troop #1: Move!
Red troops #2 & 3: Let's go!
Steve: Roll call!
Red squad: 1, 2, 3, 4... 88!
Steve: Team! We must put out the fires! FOR OUR FRIENDS!!!
Red squad: YEAHHH!!!
Steve: "Jack, we'll handle the fire in the Haven. Just take the attackers out."
Jack: "Okay"
Pyro guy: Hello there. Eh? AGH!
Jack: *belch* "Not fun being poisoned, is it?"
Steve: SPLIT INTO GROUPS OF FIFTEEN AND SPLIT UP! I'LL TAKE THE TOP OF THE AREA! COMMANDERS, TAKE YOUR SECTIONS OF FOURTEEN AND HANDLE THE SOUTH WING, NORTH WING, WEST CENTER, MAIN CENTER, AND LOBBY AREA!!!
Red squad: YES, SIR!!!
*furious stomping and poison spraying*
Steve: More Pyro guys from the east, Esteban! Handle it!
Esteban: Just finished the burning area. Heading east to fend off the attack!
One hour later...
Jack: "WE DID IT!"
Red squad: VICTORY!!!
Commander: I'm. So. Exhausted.
Esteban: Heh. We're done here. The seed is probably already collected by now.
Steve: I know... "You're welcome, Jack."
Jack: "Thank you so much. We probably could not have won without you. Hope you are well for your journey!"
Steve: Anyone want to head home?
Red squad: NO, SIR!
Steve: You guys are the best leaves I could have asked for. Let's go!
@@colefrazee
OK!
SAME
I struggled with the Chapter 6 boss as a kid
Same lmao
Emilie bringing out his inner Jesse Pinkman! I doubt he's ever watched that show.
I love how hard Kolorado tries and fails. He's not a full on coward and does his attempts.
Just what you’d expect from a Chuggaaconroy video.
I thought he was talking about us too
Same. It's embarrassing to admit, but I kinda needed to hear that today, even if it wasn't actually attributed to us. 😅
"I'm gonna show you a real useful badge for this fight: Double Dip." Yeah, it's so useful you can end both the battle and the game in one turn!
@@WackoMcGoose Which one LSD Dream emulator or Wadanohara.
I really liked his lava piranha, his videos never miss
I think he said during a stream that he did voice act in a game but he won’t tell us what game it was
In the first LP, it took Emile 47 videos to clear chapter 5.
@@themadpro It also didn't help that, back then, TH-cam had that stupid time limit of 11 minutes.
The Ice Power badge makes the second phase of this boss fight much, MUCH easier.
And then, it's promptly forgotten about x)
I kind of wish it had another property to itself
@@VonFirflirch The Embers on Star Road. If it was TTYD Ice Power it would also be handy beyond there through the final boss, but unfortunately it’s not TTYD Ice Power.
@@Rexaura888
Eh, I never even fight these, to be honest.
Now that you mention TTYD, giving it the Freezing Ailment, like (or replacing) Ice Smash, would have been neat.
@@VonFirflirch yeah it would seem that Mt. LavaLava is the one and only time its used, cause after that, Ice Power becomes useless
@@VonFirflirch True, you could just run past or even Bump Attack them if you grinder off of Amazee Dayzees.
There's also something truly sinister about a PLANT of all things being the boss of a volcano.
especially since this plant lives in boiling lava
Plus, his two phase fight stands out and serves as a good fake out for players.
The first four bosses (Goomba King to Tubba Blubba) are all flash. The last four are all substance (General Guy to Crystal King)
@@jessehcreative ehhh, General Guy is kinda the border (fitting being the Chapter 4 boss). He's certainly formidable with his tank and army but his army is shown to be filled with cowards and he himself is nothing once his tank's defenses are easily breached.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen Goombario’s tattle of Misstar. It lived up to all my expectations.
13:50 This character development Kolorado has will be well appreciated for the 2 seconds it lasts.
I can listen to Chugga voice Kolorado all day. It's such a great voice and performance
Not me, it's an awful voice for him. Kolorado should sound deeper and more heroic.
I personally think it's perfect, it really captures the air of "well-meaning but completely pathetic"
“Deck the halls b****!!” Made my entire day and I was having an awful one
The fact it's December makes it even better!
@@MasterZebulin Yes, yes it does.
Same!
Thanks for uploading an episode with my favorite Paper Mario Boss on my birthday!! 🥳🎉
Enjoy the festivities! Happy birthday!
That’s one powerful plant. But I have a feeling that Mario will turn up the heat and make some roasted veggies
Nom nom nom. Save some for me.
I have plenty of roasted garlic, it’s delicious
This boss has a really cool concept, even if its fight is kind of underwhelming (if you're playing well the second phase never gets a chance to do anything). I'm just a sucker for monsters that can live in lava like it's water.
On a different note, its Book of Mario incarnation's one of the most memorable for me. It opens the battle with "FUCKING FUN SET!" and then ends its monologue by declaring it loves Mario. I don't think it's one of the more talked about things of Book of Mario, but still one of my favorite moments in it.
Also in the Book of Mario, Kolorado calls the Treasure his wife, if you remember.
Mario be like: "The real-a treasure was the Star-a Spirit we rescued along the-a way!"
One Piece in a nutshell.
That Lava Piranha voice is so so good Chugga would be an awesome character voice actor i think !!!
ain't no way
I really love the music for Laval Piranha's second phase. Excellent example of how a skilled composer can make damn good music even with limitations like the N64's audio capabilities.
As they say, limitations breed creativity (unless there's too much then it's just learned helplessness.)
I just love the energy Chugga brings in his commentary. It makes every little thing in this game seem so awesome and magical, and his character voices are also really fun! Really helps build immersion and keep me engaged with the story!
10:12 now THAT'S how ya finish a boss
Kolorado: "Maybe we should leave the treasure behind, I value my life."
Also Kolorado: "FORGET WHAT I SAID! FUCK MY LIFE, I WANT THE TREASURE!
At least he's honest about it :P
“Deck the halls b*itch” has got to be one of the best ways to end a fight. Hilarious and festive!
Goombario can actually tattle Eldstar on Shooting Star Sumit at the beginning.
8:11
"I'm gonna jump on you... to disable you."
O_o
Then again, how many people played this game as kids, and as their very first RPG?
... I was among them, unfortunately x)
I was also part of the "Me always upgwade HP" crowd, double whammy! xD
It gave me trouble as a kid, but not since then.
So It's the Golem (Terraria) of this game.
The voice acting for Lava Piranha was a great performance :)
That lip smacking voice was perfect. It sounds like come cartoon character I can't think of but I love it. haha I actually got double star points from Merlee when I played this as a kid and I screamed so loud that my mom came in and pulled the plug on my system and had to do it again. I still got double star points after the fact.
one of my favorite boss battle themes in the game, such a banger
Little did Kolorado know; that the real treasure was the friends we made along the way
I never knew Emile was born to voice Lava Pirahna. That fit perfectly
Chuggaaconroy: *""Deck the halls bitch!*
Me: *laughing hard since it's close to Christmas at the time the video was posted and at Emile cursing. XD*
For example: Creepy forest area involved, Boo mansion, friendly NPCs are being eaten/transformed, parts where you have to use your new partner's ability to phase out and pass through an otherwise-impossible spot or to hide to get new information to progress, unbeatable boss with a secret weakness you have to figure out from one of his secret, locked-away underlings, etc. etc.
You actually get Ice power in chapter 4 in this game and chapter 5 in TTYD.
@@Surgemaster2012 they were comparing the two tropical island chapters, not specific chapter numbers.
@@shadowblade5656 Oh I know. But I was stating that when it came to that specific item they are found in different chapters

Yes it is
"Deck the halls bitch" is one of my favorite chuggaaconroy lines.
@@AnaxErik4ever I learned something new today! My next guess would have been that it was her braided hair and it was floating above her.
This boss went out in a *blaze* of glory!
Also, obligatory Swampfire reference. lol
Protip: I always use Muscular for this fight to keep Lava Piranha's attack power low, with Fire Shield reducing damage by 1 Lava Piranha would only be able to do 1 damage (unless you guard then it's 0)
When Chugga reveled he had Double Dip for the fight I was somewhat expecting him to preform the Double Dip Egg Bomb Crash.
14:17 "In bed.." -Chuggaaconroy 2022
She's not the action star, Emile.
I wasn't expecting your Christmas video so soon!
Thanks for all the great vids you've made over the years man.
That was HOT, 10/10 would watch again.
I always found it interesting how (at least last I checked) the name of this boss is just "go, go Mario" like this one is a bit more special to name-drop him.
Regardless, I'll always appreciate naval piranha references, even if kid me bringing ultra rank sushie invalidated his main mechanics
I guess lavalava island has never specifically stuck out to me but on revisiting it, it's just a nice, solid themed jungle area. I tend to go more for specific elements that make chapters good for me, but I can appreciate one that's mostly solid. Now that I think about it, aside backtracking being a bit excessive (which, ttyd baby), that also goes for chapter 5 of the sequel
Miistar's scared sprite always creeped me out with how odd the eyes look
Just wanna say. I watched you multiple years ago during your wind waker let's play 13 years ago. After that since I was young and didn't know how TH-cam worked I couldn't find your videos and couldn't remember your name as it was to long for my little brain. 13 years later at age 18, im finally finding the first TH-camr I actually got into (even if i i only watched 1 let's play) it's amazing and nostalgic to see how far you've come. Enough with the sappy s***. Keep up the good work. Videos have come along way and are amazing.
Sushi was definitely my saving grace with this battle. Especially with that tidal wave move
I can't prove this, but the thing around Kolorado's neck kinda looks like a Shrink Stomp badge. I like to imagine that's what he's attempting to do as he valiantly charges in to "save" you.
Next time on Paper Mario, episode 44...
We will not be forever softlocked during a Peach Interlude for redoing Chapter 5. Thank the stars!
seeing a chugga upload after working a shift at my job feels good, thank you (work at a grocery store for those who are wondering)
for 15 years, since i played paper mario TTYD, i thought ice power was a weird water bottle, Today, at age 25, I REALIZED IT'S A GODDAMN SNOWMAN.

It's not easy to pull a double fake-out, but this game did it well with the boss and the fact that the volcano erupts. Plus, the Lava Piranha does look like a powerful foe... unless you know the right things to use to pummel it. It's challenging, but fair.
The embodiment of biting into pizza straight outta the oven
6:21 I mentioned back during Tubba Blubba that there were 4 songs in this game that I liked. Lava Piranha phase 2 is the second one of those. It’s called Go, Mario Go! Phase 2. Spoilers for the rest of the LP. The last 2 songs won’t be until Chapter 8.
Kolorado trying to fight the Lava Piranha (and Lava Buds) and failing is pretty funny.
11:23 Thanks Chugga, you're great too! :)

So I was replaying Paper Mario for like the 14th time and this is the exact point I was at when you started the LP. I put it on hold so I could play along and the time has finally come!!
The guy throwing his slipper at the Kraken did more than Kolorado.
07:14 I love this dumbass so much it's unreal. xD
09:12 Well, they are Piranha Plants, so it makes sense that they share the sleep-weakness.
Quake badges DO work against Lava Piranha and the Buds.
Lava Piranha being essentially a large Piranha Plant fits the Yoshi Island theme considering the bosses in that game
"Deck the Halls bitch!" - Chuggaconroy circa 2022
Awesome voice for Lava Piranha! Great video, btw.
Lava Piranha has one of my favorite boss themes in the game! The lava part with Kolorado’s treasure chest is hilarious too.
Official prediction: he’s gonna do double dip egg missile
I’ll take it
This boss battle seems really fun to me for some reason. It's like it has that right balance of difficulty for this point in the game.
legends tell of Chugga getting the action command for tidal wave to work how he's trying to make it
Kolorado is so puffed up in the brain to care more about Treasure than his own life and others because of the Volcano erupting.
"DECK THE HALLS, B#@$#!!!" -Chuggaaconroy 2022
Dude I used to watch your old super paper Mario let’s play it’s good to see that you are still alive
Hearing Chuggaa say "Roll for initiative" is not what I was expecting watching Paper Mario
Probably not. The partner will probably force you to grab it.
Emile’s lava piranha voice reminded me of the police officer character from the old Smosh days “STOP RIGHT THERE!”
Seeing it now it's clear that Misstar is holding a ribbon, but I always thought she was holding a Lasso and she had that heavy country accent, and considering what happened in this chapter I thought it was fitting.
new headcanon acquired
Whew finally marathoned this (having a heck of a year) and I'm really appreciating learning all the cool stuff and your sibling voice acting energy XD
I love it on how Misstar just grabs Colorado as we escape the volcanoe, I always find it funny.
There’s gonna be quite the backtrack to get the star piece he miss in Mt. Lavalava
The obscure details is what I subscribed for
Glad to see this came back. I love being wrong sometimes.
I got so excited when you put double dip on, and then very sad when you had no egg missile. Still happy to see it mentioned though
