This is one of the better vids for explaining in a basic layman’s terms the climate knobs of the RAV4. Thank you. My RAV4 Adventure Hybrid arrived last week. I’m going from dinosaur to a new age person now. Lol. NZ
Can i ask you about principle?! If i set the temperature 21° the compressor well go down or the system will open the heater door to mix the hot air with cold to reach optimum temperature?
Hello, and Thanks for the video. Do you have a video on how the AC works when remote starting the vehicle? I leave AC on when I turn off the vehicle. It comes on when I remote start it. But I read that the car can turn on the AC automatically when the temperature is at a certain degree.
It’s fall & now when I press auto the middle boxes go down But when it’s off auto it seems to be working fine. It’s not even that cold out We have 24 cross
How come when you select front defrost it turns off the light that circulates the air in the cabin to having air from the outside coming in? This is annoying because you then smell the outside fumes.
I have a question about the line of control buttons. The don't light up during the day on me 2019 RAV 4 and are very hard to see. Is there any way for these to light up? Thanks for your help.
So, i dont see a way to just use outside air. Say it's 70° outside, but with full sun car heats up inside. To save gas, wear and tear on the ac system, all i need is outside fresh air without rolling down the windows.
I have 2023 Tacoma. When I press auto the mode goes to blowing at my feet automatically. If I switch mode to blowing at face auto automatically goes off. Is there anyway when pressing auto to have the mode to be where it blows on face and not the feet?
Thank you Steven for the well explained video. I have a 2020 Toyota Highlander. Do you know if the "Auto" button controls the fresh air and the recirculation or needs to be pushed manually I mean the recirculation button? Thank you
@@stevenwelchtoyota my rav4 is an LE, so it doesnt have the Auto button. BUT the recirc turns ON, when i start the car, even if i had the AC ON with the recirc OFF (and AC MAX button OFF), when i shut down the car. Do you know if there is a way i can have the recirc stay OFF when i start the car? (the reason i want the recirc to be off by default is, because my wife never turns the recirc off and that keeps moisture inside the car. i am worried the ac vents will get mildew and start to smell eventually. ) Thanks!
I just purchased a 2023 RAV4 and the AC in my car is not blowing cold air. It’s blowing air, but not AC cold air. I hope this makes sense. Is this normal?
@@stevenwelchtoyota I have and I even turned on the circulation air button, which have been suggested by the dealership and videos I have seen. The dealership said that this is normal, but I just don’t believe it when the AC setting is blowing just air.
I live in a city where it’s rarely ever sunny, so I drove to a city where the temperature is more hot. The AC air that was blowing in my car was warm. It wasn’t AC air.

Hello Steven and thank you for your videos. I have a 2021 Corolla LE and the Eco heat/cool button is combined with the fan direction. It's getting cold in Canada (-4 F not too bad right now) and I would like to set the controls to: heat HI, fan FULL in the direction of the Windshield to melt the ice. Can this be done or is there a default preset for Corolla LE? Thank you for your help!
This is a great video but my LE auto settings won’t change so that if I start my car and press auto in the middle of winter it’s still on cool air. I want to see how you pre set the auto settings
So the ECO heat/cool isnt really a beneficial feature at all of your car isnt a hybrid? I have the corolla hatchback, Im just understanding now that the feature isnt helpful at all then in terms of fuel or ac efficiency?
Can you do a video on the auto wipers. We are in Canada just picked up the 21 Rav4 XLE. Worried about winter and them coming on in the morning when the windshield is full of snow. Thanks for these awesome videos.
@@stevenwelchtoyota Still doesn't constitute putting AC when it's cold out!!! 😂 Like I'm not warm, I'm cold! It's 32 outside and like 34 in the car. Whyyy? One of the most ridiculous features I've seen in a modern car.
Thanks for this tutorial!they said you need to turn off your aircon before you shutdown the engine?because they said something happen your aircon in the future, what do you think sir?
Thanks SO much for this! I’ve had my RAV4 for four years and never understood this!

Hello from Wisconsin. You're explanations are the best. So easy to understand. Thanks so much.

It will get it to the last setting you had it set to. If it needs ac or heat based on the temperature set it will do it

because the inside air is usually more moist due to breathing

there may be differences in canada but you should keep the eco off for best performance and set it to auto and the direction you want it to go

can the recirculating ac button can clean dust in the car ?
It will push air through the cabin filter

Funny how most people won’t even touch the “auto” feature. I have - 2019 Toyota RAV4 and I never take it off auto feature.

adjust the temp up
How about the ac in the back? Mine doesnt work
