Hi Steve, really like the chanel! Having grown Celeriac for many years you are quite right that by taking the leaves away at the top of the crown to expose that is what makes the bulb swell. I have never tried transplanting because I have not had the need to. I hope this works well and hope you give us an update Thanks Barry
I saw this video too. Its something I have been doing but didn't recognise it as a technique. As you say Steve, not an idea for everybody but if you live in a country with very cold winters it does make sense. I transfered some celery into my tunnel today so i can extend the crop through winter. great video
Thanks Steve I did not know that about celariac. I pulled all mine recently as a waste of time and space and vowed never to grow it again. I will try again now I have the right growing information. Take care.
Greetings from Windermere, Florida zone 9b 🇺🇸 I don't need a polytunnel for winter. Here in Florida we could use a shade house for summer. Nice video Steve. 👩🌾👍
Hi Peggy and thank you! I never knew there was another Windermere in the world, Windermere is the largest natural lake here in England, and just down the road from me...Steve...😃
Another very informative video Steve. I saw Huw’s video and got Poly tunnel envy from Yen. It is the first time I have grown Celeriac this year, but wasn’t aware of having to pull off the leaves to encourage growth. Mine are about the size of a tennis ball at the moment, so will pull leaves off and see how they go.
Have you stopped with broccoli rabe for winter Steve? I was just a wee bit late in sowing mine I think and it's been sloooooooow. Thinking I might get one harvest in a couple of weeks before they give in :D
From an early Spring planting, they should be ready to eat by July, not too long really, but they can sit quite happily and carry on growing. I have never done a taste test comparing homegrown with shop bought...Steve...😃
You have to be patient with celeriac. I've grown it from seed for a few years now, outside all through winter, and always had good results. A large grapefruit size is ideal as they keep their flavour
Hi Steve, i see you have put a wooden frame and door on your smaller polytunnel, my polytunnel seam around the zip has come away, my question is how esy is this to do please? Kim
For very cold northern areas can someone with experience please tell me which way to face a polytunnel? East - West or North - South? I am thinking East- West so I can possibly insulate the north side? Thank You Very VERY much in advance.
Greetings from Denmark. The woman (Yen) you saw in the video is from Denmark 😊
I watched Huw's video the other day and then dug up a celeriac which is now in a pot in my conservatory. Thought it was definitely worth a try.
Great video lots of idea as ways

Very very informative Steve another great video
That will be interesting to see how you get on with those two celeriac

Brilliant Idea, I've had a couple of big ones that were planted earlier, I'm going to take the others in to the tunnel. Thanks Steve, take care
Thank you for informations ⚘⚘⚘⚘🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks. I did not know that was why my celeriac was so small last year. I gave up. Now i can give them a try again next year.

You're really utilizing as much space as you can 👍
Thanks for watching, I have to use all the undercover beds, to make it worthwhile...Steve...😃
Do commercial growers go around they’re acres of fields and trim the leaves off? I doubt it, yet they’re celeriac bulb up?
