I like that these drives have that flex cable or little PCB connecting the stepper motor at the back as it makes them easy to spot against most other drives. Never knew you could attach a floppy to an MSX, although I have only ever used one with cartridge and that was well over 30 years ago 😆
aye. MSX2 came with floppy drives as standard but you could certainly attach a floppy drive to any MSX1 through parallel port (i think) or the cartridge port
Hi there Ollie. Just a bit of info on disk capacities - Amiga 880 Kb = DSDD (Double Sideed Double Density) AKA A Normal / Standard floppy disk 1.76 Mb = DSHD (Double Sided High Density) AKA A High Density floppy disk DOS / MS-DOS 720 Kb = DSDD 1.44 Mb = HD (Not trying to be a smart arse, just sharing some knowledge - You're probably aware of this anyway) I Enjoyed the video though !
thanks for the info. Actually I wasn't even really aware there was that much of a difference between Amiga and pcdos floppy sizes for the same density. I never tinkered much with dos back then anyway, sort of kept my amiga till some time near the end of win95 , at which stage I was using CDs ayway
