It is so different in Scotland! From 3years old, we get 30hours a week for 38 weeks (term time) or get less hours per week for 48 weeks a year. All meals, snacks and drinks are included as well as any excursions! It is really flexible so you can do mornings or afternoons, fulls days or just school hours. I can’t believe how different it is in England. Also, in most of Scotland, your hours start the Monday after you turn 3 so you don’t need to wait until the next term!
England seem to be behind Scotland in a lot of things that affect parents and children. What you’ve described is kind of how I expected it be here; it seems much easier and beneficial up there! 💖
If both parents are working you can be fully funded but still only half days if only 1 parent works for school nursery if 1 parent at home and you want your child to do full days then you have to pay for half a session that's how my sons school nursery does it.
