  • In this video we get some tuning in on the Trex 600n. After about a half gallon of fuel it’s time to start tuning the engine as I’m happy with break in.

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 you’re absolutely right about that statement, that’s the reason why I bought the T-Rex 700 Dfc in almost new conditions from a friend of mine,Currently I’m just waiting that he has time in order to pick it up 🤭

    This "old" version of a Align heli looks way better than the "new" TB70! Whats all the white trim lines about on the frame.

      I prefer the newer design over the older design, better servo geometry and easier to work on and less parts but the new TB canopy is ugly.

    Great video. Your channel got me back into the hobby after a decade. I just finished a raw 580n. Did you fly your break in flight with stock settings 2 turns out with both needles? Mine seemed extremely rich. I haven't flown it yet this was on the ground no blades.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I’m glad my videos got you back into the hobby! Yes, I always flying with stock setting for about a half a gallon then start leaning it down. I like to run a full gallon of fuel before I fully tune them and lean them to peak power. But I would run at least two or three tanks at 2 turns out.

    What about alcohol as fuel? Wouldn't smoke, wouldn't smell, gives additional power, works great for chainsaws and tuned supercars past 1000hp.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it smokes because of oil. 30% nitro 22% oil. You can’t run them with no nitro or oil.

    • @M3dicayne
      @M3dicayne ปีที่แล้ว

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 oh, interesting. We use biodegradable oil for two-stroke engines (chainsaw). Way less smoke still... But I am absolutely not into the RC engines stuff and what these high rpm engines may or may not endure as substitutes.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@M3dicayne gas engines run way less oil. Like 8% big difference. Gas heli engines or plane, car and boat engines don’t smoke either. But when you have 23% you are going to get smoke and you want smoke. That’s how you know you got a good tune and oil to the engine.

    A shame you filmed in to the light. If you were to fly and film the other way the smoke would have been more visible. Nice explanation anyway 😄👌

    Hey man I need some help I have a trex 600 dfc and I can’t seem to get the tail wag to stop. Is there a good range I should set my gyro to on my radio or at least a range to start. Also I’m kind of new but good enough to do acrobatic stuff with it

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! So first place to start is mechanical set up. Is the tail free and smooth? No binding or gritty bearing? With the servo at neutral is there 2 to 4° of positive pitch at the tail blades? If everything is a yes then what head speeds are you running? And a good place I always start for Tail gain is 38-35-32 I will set a flight mode for each head speed to adjust tail Gyro to the head speed. As the Morehead speed the less tail gain you will have to run. the lower the head speed the more Gain you will have to run.

    • @KaiMiller
      @KaiMiller ปีที่แล้ว

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 yes the tail is free with no binding. I will definitely check the pitch of the blades for sure. Thank you for the information. If you ever have free time for some videos a basic Rc helicopter setup for the transmitter would be amazing I can’t seem to find many now a days they are all old😂
