You had me rolling with your Chenille pronunciation 😂 😂 I have all the old cone colors but Premier just came out with new colors including a burgundy. They look so nice. I'm going to have to get those too. 😂
I SAW THE NEW CHENILLE CONE COLORSSS!!! Hahahah ❤️❤️❤️🧶🧶🧶I think that’s the next dream 🤣🤣🤣 sorry about the chenille pronunciation! English is wild. All these words from other languages just become English words and the letters don’t make the same sounds all the time 🤣🤣🫣🫣
@@merrymakes Nothing to apologize for I completely understand. I came to the US when I was 12. I have mispronounced a word or 2 in my English learning journey. 🤣Besides, it was adorable and funny at the same time. 😍🤣 Anyway, I will be dreaming of a New Chenille Cone sale for all of us 🤣🤣😋 ❤️
❤️❤️❤️I’m definitely working my way through them haha! But yes! 1000g is a big commitment and I had to plan where I was going to store them in my craft room 🤣🤣🤣
This was so wholesome. Your reactions were priceless. I've also dreamt of getting those just chenille cones too but like you said I'm still in the "cannot rationalize" the price right now with my business. But HOPEFULLY one day I will be able to. Your mini dinos are absolutely adorable. Congrats on getting the yarn you wanted! 🥰🥳
I got 7 during their recent sale...but haven't dug in like you have😂 It was hard to narrow it down as far as colors so it's quite exciting you got almost all of the colors! Your enthusiasm made me smile...enjoy it and TFS!
Yesss!!! That was what prompted me to do it haha! And I have no regrets! I’ve been making 1-2 mini-dinos a day with it since I got it! It just feels so much gentler on my hands! 🦖❤️🧶
Awww!!! Thank you!!🥰🧶❤️🦖 heehee I think I suffer a lot from destination fallacy and it was fun to make this video and pause and remember that last year I dreamed of this moment I’m living now!
Congratulations on your purchase. I love the way it worked up. Thank you for sharing. This yarn has been on my wishlist for ages. One day my dream will come true too!
Thank you so much! ❤️🧶I hear you on the wishlist yarns 🤣 premier yarns recently released new Just Chenille Medley colors and I already and dreaming about buying those colors someday 🤣🤣🤣
This is my favorite yarn for making your Dino pattern in too. I just ordered 7 cones for market prep. when it was on sale for $21. I can’t wait for it to arrive
Would you be able to possibly do a small comparison to the Dollar Tree version? It's still Premier Just Chenille, but when I worked with it, it seems to fall apart much more easily and I'm not sure if that's actually a true quality difference or just a personal problem lol
This is a really good question! I’ll have to see if I can find the dollar tree skeins to compare it too! I also do suspect that because it’s being wound on a cone that that’s why it’s wound tighter which is why it seems like it doesn’t fluff as much as parfait chunky/parfait XL chenille yarns.
I was wondering this as well. The Just Chenille I bought from Dollar Tree was horrible and shed easily and I was concerned that my plushies wouldn't last very long when made from that yarn.
That is "AWESOME"!!! I would be excited to open that box of all those yarns too! I just recently started using chenille yarns and making animals. The first yarn i tried was "Big Twist Posh" from Joann's. I really like it cause it works up well and doesn't shed. If you make a mistake, you can take it apart very easily. I would like to try this premier yarn. I really like your Dino's!!! Tooo cute!! HAPPY CROCHETING❣️
Yes!! ❤️❤️🦖I love these fluffy yarns! I’ve tried big twist posh too and I like that one as well!! Also that yarn line’s color selection is really great! 🧶🧶🧶
❤️❤️❤️thank you so much!!! Yes! Haha I think it’ll take me a couple more weeks to adjust fully but I’m excited about the projects I’ve got going on 🥰🧶🦖🦖
Wow, didn't realize that yarn was so expensive! Glad that it works so well though and the mini dinos turned out so cute! The mint and pink one reminds me of watermelon. Hope you're having a wonderful day~
I just found your channel, and you’ve immediately become my favorite crochet creator!!! i just followed your Bao Bun pattern and it was so easy to follow ☺️.
Hi there, just found your channel. I am currently working on Premier Chenille in tan and like beige to make loveys. I bought skeins though can't afford the cones. I found that it does pull away easy enough say a kid bites into it and would pull. I am still using it as I don't know what else to use n could afford but I must tell my daughter to watch the baby when she starts putting it in her mouth that she doesn't end up with a mouthful of yarn. :/ So maybe the higher price Chenille doesn't pill as easy as the skein ones. I'm just wondering that.
I haven’t used the Chenille basix yarn, but compared to the parfait chenille yarns, the Just Chenille cone is wound a lot tighter. I’d also describe this chenille as more flat than tubular with how the chenille is made, which I think is what makes it fluff less. The Just Chenille cones still shed fluff at the yarn ends ofc, but I have a lot harder time picking the chenille fluff off of completed pieces with this yarn! Hope that helps! ❤️I know it’s a big commitment in yarn, but if you primarily work in tans/beige, there’s really only 1-2 shades you might be interested in which wouldn’t be too bad, and if you waited for the next time just chenille cone went on sale and used my 10% off your first purchase referral code, it might not be too expensive! 🧶
Hi I’m new today. Love your video. I was looking at getting some of this Chenille but, was in the fence. Glad to see you like it. Love the mini Dino also. Making one for my niece and nephew
You so fun to watch, thank you for sharing your experiences and patterns. I have a question, your yarn states it is a #6 and the website for Premier states it is #5. Any idea of why.
Hey Mary! I was wondering if you are still loving the yarn so much after a short period of time that you've had it? Not sure whether it would be a great addition for me or not. I have used both the Dollar Tree and some from the cones as a test and I'm undecided. Would love to know how you like it after some time using it
@@merrymakes Oh wow, just thought of this one. Have you tried the blooms one on any of your creations? I think that could be a really cute girly kinda of one... Lol or a total fail. But was curious if you had? I'd like to see how one of those could work up hehe. Do you agree, it would be interesting?😁😆😜
As far as synthetic fibers go, I love chenille just because the texture is soft and it makes fuzzy amigurumi! 🥰And the fact that you can still see stitches with chenille whereas with other even fuzzier yarns, you can’t see your stitches as easily. And I feel less fatigue on my hands when I crochet with chenille vs regular worsted weight yarn. Haha lots of reason for me personally! ❤️❤️🧶🧶Thank you for the sub!
Look at you, living the dream! ❤ The dinos look amazing in chenille! Did you know that a guy named Neil made every bit of your yarn? Kidding…trying to help you remember the pronunciation!😂
Y I just love all of your work I am 71 and I'm trying to figure our the 14in dinasour and I am really having a lot of trouble with how to decrease around the neck and starting the would you please help me. I watch all your video's and absoulely love all of them.😢😢😢😢
Aww! ❤️I’m glad you enjoy my videos. With the 14in version, I use a 10mm crochet hook and size 7 jumbo chenille such as parfait XL or sweet snuggles with the free mini-dino pattern available on my blog and as a TH-cam tutorial. As for the decreases, I use invisible decreases which is where you insert your hook into the front loops of the two stitches where you’re going to decrease. Then when you draw up a loop, make sure that loop is snug and tight around your hook before you yarn over and pull through. Keeping it tight makes the neck neat. I hope that made sense and helped! 🦖❤️
I’ve been on the fence about buying from Premier yarns. Did you have any trouble with the yarn shedding? Also, do you use Premier parfait chunky and if so do you like that yarn?
The Just Chenille cones seem to be wound much tighter than the parfait chunky and parfait XL yarns, so I don’t have as much fluff coming off items I make with the chenille cones. It will still shed at the yarn ends ofc, but I’m finding that it’s harder to pull fluff off of completed pieces. I’d almost describe the Just chenille cone chenilles as more flat than tubular like the parfait chenilles. Hope that makes sense! I primarily use parfait XL and sweet snuggles and chenille home in my shop and I like all these chenilles! ❤️❤️❤️
Of course no point in buying 1312 yards of a color if you only need say 180 yards, but still really good to know there’s a smaller option to try it out before committing to a huuuge cone!!! ❤️
Those are actually my balls of crochet thread! ❤️ I love crocheting mandalas with thread as wall art, but those take me hundreds of hours per piece. I’ll have to make a video about them sometime!!🧶🧶🧶
I’m sorry the chenille cones didn’t work out for you! 😞 you may be able to reach out to premier yarns customer service department about it if you’re still in the return window-they’ve always been super helpful to me!
This is not the same as parfait XL and I wouldn’t call it the same as parfait chunky either. Those chenilles are more of a tube and generally are fuller-thicker chenilles. This chenille cone is thinner and has more of a shine than the parfait yarns. This really is more comparable to a size 4 yarn and for me, I’m using a 4mm hook with it instead of the recommended 8mm hook. Hope that made sense and helped answer your question! ❤️🧶
@merrymakes thank you! I wish they made this in smaller amounts to try it out. I know they have their other lines but I like the shine on this one and that it doesn't shed! Congrats on all your new yarn! ❤️
@CrochetMama3 this brand does? I've bought chenille at dollar tree before, but it's a lot lighter. I tried burning the end and blowing it out like I usually do. Since it was so light, I blew it into my finger and burnt myself!
Dreams do come true, as long as they are about yarn. I love this, I couldn’t stop cracking up!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶 I’m gonna keep dreaming about other yarns that get to use in the future hahahaha
😂 I was like, I 'll take 3 of that, 1 of those. Hehe. So pretty.
