Thanks a lot for the lesson! Osoto gari was one of the first things I learned in judo and somehow it just became one of my favourites over time. What I feel is really common in any teaching video from Japan is the focus on grip and how you use your hands, somehow I feel like that hasn't been as much in focus in western classes I take. Not that it's ignored, but it comes up early in the instructions every time in Japan for every throw and situation. And feels like it makes a huge impact on how you get from A to B.
Really great tips and in-depth applications. This isn't a throw I was taught in person at length, but your teaching gives me more confidence in trying it out more. Also, uke blue is a champ for taking all those falls.
Really good video. Could you do some like this but for foot sweeps? I already saw the de ashi video of you, but that isn't as detailed as this one. Many judo fans love foot sweeps.
Last Thursday night I practised osoto gari after the regular class. I introduced all your tips to my Uke....and we both followed your guidance. Amazing osoto went on that tatami ... and I said in my mind....that was an osoto gari with great fluidity. Thank you fluid Judo! When is your next video? Christmas time....with a new video?
Thank you always Hodgson Catalin✋I'm happy to hear that too. I plan to upload a SEOINAGE video this week. TAIOTOSHI, SODETSURI, IPPONSEOI, SODE... I am editing💻 Looking forward to it👍
Sensei, thank you for this new video of Osoto Gari. I have to say that you do have a great contribution in my boosting skills. Watched 4 times your video...focusing in your description of the technique. I would like to know what's your favourite combination(s) where the Osoto Gari is at the end of atack ? Thank you for your video. Greetings from Canada.
@@fluidjudojapan YES ! I found your answer in the " Osoto gari the foundation of a judoka" ( in defence part of your video). Uchimata & Sasae is there ! Also, I saw your Sasae technique in " My original seoi nage " video ! ( Kuzushi description ). Thank you !
Big fan of your channel and techniques. Same as O-Soto-Gari, can you make a video explaining those little details that make a good Harai-Goshi work. Thanks 🙏👍 and continue making this kind of videos. Helped my Soft-Way (JUDO) to another level. Arigato. Osss!!
I have a question.!🙋♂️ You explained everything perfectly. For a non judoka, but BJJ practitioner how can I learn on my own alone in my own house sittings.? Like let’s if I don’t have a partner, how can I learn this alone momentarily.? Any advice would be amazing
Thank you very much for the great video. I would like to ask about the position of the hikite. Do you prefer a higher grip or is it okay to grip at the wrist for Osoto gari? Thank you for your answer.
Thanks František Šmehlík🖐️ At first, I think it's good to hold the area around the elbow. If you can do that, I think you can hold it around your wrist. This is my opinion.
Acho que eu estava aplicando o osotogari de modo errado. Eu colocava o desequilíbrio para as costas do oponente. Notei que o judoca desequilibra o oponente para o lado.
Sensei . After I swept , my uke feet facing my 6 o clock , unlike yours facing 12 o clock. My uke said it was powerful, but I felt it was wrong. Maybe I used too much power in my sweeping leg ?
Yes! Another fluid judo japan video. These are my favorite!
