  • Various C47 troop transport aircraft at North Weald Airfield, EGSX,
that have flown in from across the U.K. and USA to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D Day landings on the 6th June 1944, and to honour the input of the airborne parachute troops that dropped into France on the early hours of the 6th June.
This video includes spitfire mk9 taxiing , photo reconnaissance mk11 , R22 and R44 helicopters and
A view of a D Day Veteran C47 Dakotas taking off and and landing that dropped soldiers of the 82 airborne regiment of the US Army on the morning of the 6th June, 1944.
North Weald Airfield dates from 1916 and is famous as one of the main fighter bases in the Battle of Britain. It is a historic, well maintained site of almost 400 acres, which hosts a wide range of activities throughout the year.
Thanks to Tom Ryan for the Spitfire Mk9 and Gnat clip

Ain't nothing as graceful as a dc-3 dakota. Like your old aunt that is still kinda hot.
