    Love the way you do the video and present our traditional heritage dishes and hawkers, with your very eloquent, detailed commentaries and even histories!…also love the way you infuse Casey Neistat's style of shooting and editing of videos, with really great matching of appropriate nice musics!!…Keep up the great job!!!…Singapore really do need more TH-camrs like you!!!…can't wait to maybe meet you one day and eat together!😉

      Kiat Tay yeah there is a bit of vintage Casey in there haha! I would like to use more music which singaporeans identify with as well as local songs but there’s always the issue of copyright so I do use it but sparingly. It gives the video so much more flavour!

    thank you for your fantastic channel! I just discovered you and have been watching a bunch of your videos. Love it. I think you are doing a great service to Singapore, but more importantly telling a great story about the very complex geopolitical history of the last five hundred years. Really loved your Peranakan episode.

    I love your vids, but just to confirm ya, I think there aare some other ngoh hiang stalls right? I know lot 1, the 302 coffee shop has a ngoh hiang stall not bad. (Do correct me if I'm wrong, I not too sure about it but it taste pretty good if you're too lazy to travel to the central from the west.

      Oooooh, I didn't know there's a difference between Hokkien and Teochew >< Gotta do my research a bit more. But I guess I just love it all. But I heard from my parents that the one I mentioned should be Hokkien.
      Edit: I guess the one I know is prolly not as authentic :P

    Hup Kee is awesome. The egg cakes are really unique! An awesome snack.
    I never knew there was a difference between hokkien style stalls and other types. Thanks for the edu.
    To me, a strange defining feature of a wu xiang stall(or indian rojak) is the tau kwa. When its sour, it can be a real turn off. But when ifs fresh and soft its almost a sign that all the other ingredients would be nice too.

    It would been more enjoyable and less irritating if the presenter had done his things BEHIND THE CAMERA. David Attenborough is the flag bearer of how to produce a video presentation. He never dominate his subjects unlike all the novices overloading the youtube channel. On food tasting in particular, it is very disgusting to stuff the food inside the mouth in front of the camera and the inevitable chewing and talking all at the same time. Please, the video is supposed to entertain, not irritate.

    • @GregoryLeow
      @GregoryLeow  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      s c hi, thanks for the feedback! When I started this TH-cam channel last year, I simply followed the style of food youtubers - which is predominantly mukbang-style. (Eating in front of the camera). I wasn’t sure if people would like it but in actuality, my viewers actually love this sort of style (as evident with numerous personal messages I have received). So I am unfortunately sticking to this style as the majority of my viewers demand it but who knows, it may change in the future. People’s tastes change...! :)

    • @sc-to4uf
      @sc-to4uf 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gregory Leow. Thank you for taking my comments in the right spirit. There are certain things which are so elementary they do not require debate such as table and eating manners. If you keep a critical eye on a lot of videos where the presenters are in front and behind the camera, you will realise that you never get turned off by the latter. The occasions for appearing in front of the camera is at the beginning and the ending of the presentation. One cannot be too pedantic about this of course, depending on the circumstances.

    • @fcof
      @fcof 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Geez... No one is forcing you to watch the video. If you feel irritated at the sight of people eating food in front of a camera, move on... Oh, and btw, nice videos Gregory!

    • @GregoryLeow

      Ivan hey thanks for the compliment! Glad you enjoyed it! :)

    • @sc-to4uf
      @sc-to4uf 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ivan. True no one is forcing anyone to watch any video. However, with so many egoistic youtubers crowding the scene, it is very hard to avoid every one of them. This is the thing. Once a video is put out for public viewing and comment, you must expect all sorts of views. My suggestion is nothing personal but premised on how to make videos pleasant and viewable and ultimately entertaining. I take no joy in negatives. except in the hope that it would lead to a change for the better. Can anyone honestly disagree with my suggestion? TH-camrs such as The Food Ranger, Luke Martin and Gerryko should either change their egoistical style of presentation or be hounded to death!
