The developers of Fargo's Souls mod and Fargo's Mutant mod have also made the official Fargo's Souls DLC mod, which adds proper computability between the two mods. It adds the new Eternity-Revengeance and Eternity-Death difficulty modes, fixes a bunch of crafting recipes, rebalances a lot of the items, adds new Fargo's enchantments and souls for Calamity items, etc. You really should've installed it for this playthrough.

You mentioned the mutant giving you a hard time. If you get tired of dealing with his first phase and entering his second with low health, just die to his 2nd phase a couple times (I think the magic number is 10 in eternity mode). After hitting the magic number, you'll get a chat message saying that "the mutant tires of the charade" and you'll immediately enter phase 2
Btw, one of the stars above bosses used to be unbeatable paired with calamity, idk if it still is, but the boss was basically set to a time limit before it just outright killed you, and calamity boss scaling took it outside any proportions you can even try to get

Basically, Calamity scales boss hp greater than normal, and thats not limited to just calamity/default terraria, thats across all boards, so while you might get stuck with a weapon that does 1000dps, which is fine if the witch is at maybe 200k for mastermode, it scaled ridiculously more to over 500k. I stopped playing because Im relatively strict (for lack of a better term) on keeping up with boss progression on most/all games. Perhaps if I waited until much further in the game when you would do 10k+ dps it wouldve been possible, but that felt cheap to me.
You should try calamity infernum, masochist mode, and thorium all at once! And if you skip a boss, the challenge is over. (No other mods such as magic storage or recipe browser, you can use the DLC fargos mod though if you do this live, I'll donate you money) (1 month=5000$, 2-3 months=3500$, 4-6 months=1000$, 6+ months=500$ I'll give you more money if you do it with all classes or if you invite 7 friends to do each class.)
I feel one of the items from Fargo's Souls mod (Soul of the master) would have helped with bosses like Mutant (but also the boss can deactivate many abilities from the enchantments as a debuff) as for Calamity there are a few items to increase max health and max mana like the Dragon Fruit
