8:22, Do these kinds of mistakes get updated in a statewide database or..? Apologies for the ignorance, I'm a software dev looking to move into surveying and have found myself going through your videos. Like you said in this video "you could be stuck in an office", which is me at the moment. Surveying looks like a nice mix of some office and field work. It looks like there are a few different avenues in obtaining qualifications and different levels to that too (I'm Qld based). Do you have any recommendations on which approach to take?

Hi there. Yes the mistakes do get updated, if a new survey plan is registered but on occasions like this I'm not making a new plan for registration so unfortunatley other Surveyors will pull their hair out like me looking for marks. If updating the plans was a simple process or we could add some notes to a separate document accompanying the plan, it may help the next Surveyor. Not sure if that will ever happen.
I studied at USQ - Toowoomba and did a Bach.Spatial Science (Surveying) although my course was by correspondence. Thats a good option, or study through TAFE to begin with and perhaps get some work experience etc.
We do things slightly different in NSW but the ideas are the same.
Thanks for watching. Feel free to ask any questions if decide to take up Surveying!
