There's something people aren't aware of when Malodextrin is an ingredient. It spikes blood sugar. If you are diabetic and can't figure out why you are spiking, look for Malodextrin in the ingredients. It can also affect weight loss/gain. My husband is borderline diabetic but his numbers were out of control, even following the keto diet. I started looking at what he was eating and drinking. He drank a lot of crystal light which is loaded in Malodextrin. When he stopped, his numbers dropped to normal a couple of days later. I now make all of my mixes and blends so I know what is in it!
@@hugg724 this is amazing advice. Thank you for sharing. I’m glad you figured it out! The junk that’s added in is maddening, and docs often want to medicate instead of finding the issue. Thank you for sharing! This will definitely help someone else along the way!
Yes! I have successfully shredded mozzerella, which is what I had 20 lbs of this day, as well as cheddar. It still melts and has no texture problems. If it was still being used for slicing, I’m not sure it would work as well.
@@thehometownhomestead ok, I use mostly grated anyway. I’ve had a similar experience. We only buy blocks now as I don’t like the coating either! It melts together much better without it too, and it really doesn’t take long to grate it. We’ve been moving towards more homemade items. Started with bread, then cooking dried beans instead of buying canned. After having done this for a while, we ended up buying bread and canned beans, and I could really notice a difference. Even my daughter said they tasted like chemicals! I just joined an Azure drop and am excited to place my first order this month. I didn’t know they had cabbage and cheese!
@@amygriffith3598 that’s awesome!! We had a similar path for sure. Azure has everything, but the pricing is always better in bulk. That mozzerella is really awesome! Shredded works great for grilled cheese U can also make a cheese-mayo & mustard and maybe green olives spread for sandwiches So 2 ways to avoid needing sliced cheese
I buy blocks of cheddar becuz no one makes shredded extra sharp cheddar. I actually buy seriously sharp by Cabot but even just extra sharp would be fine. Nope No one sells it. So we shred our own. I buy 2 lb blocks at WM, $5 a lb. Not bad. Ofc this isn’t from pastured cows nor is it raw milk. If we had even decent money for groceries, I would get that in a heartbeat!!
Thank you, I love diy spice blends and gravy mixes
You’re welcome! It’s really easy and cuts a lot of the junk out!
Thanks for watching!
This was perfect timing. I’m wanting to start making my own spice blends after reading the ingredients in the packets i have been buying.
Yep. I went to buy ranch once, and walked out of the store after turning over the package. Disgusting. 😳
@@thehometownhomestead yeah it’s crazy!
Another great video!! I am working on eliminating processed food so these seasoning recipes are perfect!!
It’s amazing what all they pack in to the brands were used to seeing on the shelf!
❤ I love the “we know what’s I there❣️
Adding powdered buttermilk to my Azure order !
I had no idea how often I’d use it, but it’s great to have on hand for many reasons!
Great video!!! IHATE MSG!!!
It’s in everything!
Thanks for watching!

What brand is your dehydrator??
I have this one, and we love it. We make jerky, dehydrate tomatoes and garlic, plus proof bread OFTEN!
